This document provides guidelines for completing a School Based Assessment (SBA) project on office administration for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC). It outlines the required sections and content for the SBA, including:
1. Preparation with a title page, aim, and correspondence letter.
2. Gathering data through a methodology outlining data collection and analysis, questions asked during research, and an activities schedule.
3. Addressing regulations by stating relevant legislation, how it was learned, health and safety practices observed, and staff rules complied with.
4. Presenting findings in a report on results and recommendations, and explaining the use and suitability of office equipment for tasks.

Your title should come from any of these2 units. Your title should be a
statement of a problem in an issue, therefore it cannot be a question.
Eg.
1. To investigate the procedures employed by the Procurement Manager, for

8. Methodology
This section describes the rationale for the application of specific
procedures or techniques used to identify, select, and analyze
information applied to understanding the research problem, thereby,
allowing the reader to critically evaluate a study’s overall validity and
reliability.
The methodology section of a research paper answers two main
questions:
• How was the data collected or generated?
• And, how was it analyzed?
The writing should be direct and precise and always written in the past
tense

List five questions asked to personnel of the firm. The exact
wording of questions asked and to whom they were
directed. The questions should be relevant to learning
more about the title of the project.
e.g.. 1. What are some of the documents used to facilitate purchasing?
2. Do use ICT to facilitate purchasing in the firm?
3. How do you ensure that you are purchasing goods of the highest quality at
the cheapest cost ?
4. What are some of the factors that influence purchasing procedures in the
firm?
5. How effective are the purchasing procedures in acquiring goods and
services
