This Electronic Document Preparation and Management School Based Assessment is done as a part of
the CSEC examination and is based on the topic of a casino; namely The Grand Casino. This SBA is
comprised of a Portfolio (a compilation of 10 documents), a business merger proposal and the business

Confirmation on attendance
I would like to confirm your participation in the upcoming ‘House of cards’ Master’s poker
Tournament being held at The Grand Casino in Georgetown Guyana in July 2014.We expect 16 of the
Region’s best Poker players to attend the tournament.
Next week I will forward all the rules and codes of conduct of the tournament to you, but for now
allow me to present the schedule and layout of the games. There will be 2 poker tables. Each table will
house 8 randomly drawn players. There will a total of 3 rounds. The first round will consist of 16
games per table. In addition to chips, points will be awarded to players for each game, with the winner
of each game receiving 8 points, the runner up receiving 7 and so on. At the end of the 16 games the
top four players with the most points from each table will proceed to round 2. In the second round the
remaining 8 players in the tournament will play on 2 tables once more. A single table will house 4
players. A total of 12 matches will be played per table. However, this time the top 2 players from each
table with the most winnings after all 12 matches will proceed to the finals. In the finals 8 matches will
be played and the individual with the most winnings will be declared victor. First prize is $GYD
1,000,000, second prize is $GYD 500,000, third prize is $GYD 250,000 and the Last prize is $GYD
125,000 In Addition to all winnings the players have accumulated throughout the tournament.

You are expected to be in the country at least 3 days prior to the beginning of the tournament as to
fulfill registration purposes. The entry fee for the Tournament is $USD 100 and each player is also
expected to begin the tournament with at least $GYD 200,000.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

I, Derek J. Gonsalves, of the Town of Georgetown and Country of Guyana, being of sound and
disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and
Testament, hereby revoking all Wills and Codicils previously made by me.
ARTICLE I: DECLARATIONS
I declare that I am married as of the date of this Will and that my wife's name is Jane R. Gonsalvez. I
further declare that I have two (2) children, namely: John G. Gonsalvez of Georgetown, Guyana, and
Mary S. Gonsalves of Georgetown, Guyana.
ARTICLE II: DEBTS AND EXPENSES
I direct that all of my legally enforceable debts, funeral expenses and estate administration expenses be
paid as soon after my death as may be practicable.
ARTICLE III: TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY
I give all of the tangible personal property that I may own at the time of my death, to my wife, Jane R.
Gonsalvez, if she survives me.
ARTICLE I V: GENERAL BEQUEST TO INDIVIDUAL
I give and bequeath the sum of $5,000,000 to my sister, Harriet C. Gonsalves, of Georgetown, Guyana,
if she survives me. If my sister, Harriet C. Gonsalves, does not survive me, this bequest to her shall
lapse and the same shall become a part of my residuary estate, to be distributed as hereinafter provided
in Article VIII of this Will.
ARTICLE V: RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE
I give and devise to my wife, Jane R.Gonsalves, if she survives me, absolutely and free of trust, all of
my right, title and interest in and to all residential real estate used by my wife or by me as a permanent

or seasonal home at the time of my death. If my wife does not survive me, such residential real estate
shall be distributed as part of my residuary estate.
IN WITNESS whereof i have hereunto set my hand this this 9th day of September, 2014. Signed by

To Mr. Arnold:
The Grand Casino, of 45 Brickdam, Georgetown, Hereinafter referred to as “TGC”, a Business name
registered under the Business Names Act, Hereby engages your Services as a Slots Manager from
October 1, 2014 for a period of 1 year only to October 1, 2015. Your Assignments will be made to you
by Casino president, Carlos Gonsalvez.
1. Remuneration
You will be paid a total of one million, two hundred and twenty four thousand dollars($ 1,224,000.00)
in twelve equal installments, which will be a monthly sum of one hundred and two thousand ($
102,000.00) You will not be entitled to any benefits other than those set out in this contract or required
by law.
2. Termination of Contract
This Contract may be terminated on either side without notice. However, should there be any violation
of any provisions of this agreement, or engagement in any activity which this business deems to be
wrongful or detrimental to its business, and/or breach of any its policies, The Grand Casino may at its
option and sole discretion, terminate this agreement with immediate effect.
3. Conflict of Interest
As an independent contractor, The Grand Casino recognizes that you are at liberty to enter into
such other (similar) contracts as you choose, provided that such contracts are with entities that do

not compete directly with and do not unreasonably interfere with the discharge of your obligations
under this contract.
You undertake not to disclose to a third party during the term of this agreement or thereafter any
information, secrets or any other confidential information communicated to you by The Grand
Casino for the purpose of enhancing your performance of this contract.
4. Intellectual Property
You hereby assign to TGC with Full title guarantee by way of present and future assignments all
copyright, design rights and other intellectual property rights that exist or may in the future exist in any
documents and or works produced or created by you in the course of providing the services under this
agreement. At the request and cost of TGC, you agree to execute any deed or document which TGC
may require.
5. Confidentiality
You agree that all knowledge and information not within the public domain that may be acquired in
accordance with the performance of your duties or obligations during the term of this agreement shall
be regarded as strictly confidential and shall not be directly or indirectly disclosed to any person
whatsoever except with the explicit permission of TGC. Any breach of this will result in immediate
termination.
6. No Partnership
Nothing in this contract shall be deemed to constitute a partnership or joint venture or agency
relationship between the parties.
7. Authorization Of Agent To Collect Monies
In the event that you authorize and empower any person or entity to collect and receive all any monies
payable to you hereunder, you declare that receipt by the said agent or company shall be a good and
valid discharge to our payment of monies payable to you under this contract.
8. Entire Agreement
This contract, subject to any written amendments effected in writing by the parties, contains the entire
agreement and understanding of the parties with respect to its subject matter and supersedes all prior
agreements written or oral and each of the parties acknowledges that it has not been induced to enter
into this contract by reason of any representation made by or on behalf of the other party.
9. Variation
No variation to this contract shall be effected unless it is in writing and signed by or on behalf of both
parties.

10. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Any dispute or difference of any kind whatsoever which arises between you and TGC in relation to
any matter in connection with this contract shall, within thirty (30) days of one party receiving written
notification of the said dispute or difference from the other party, be referred to mediation through the
Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica before an agreed Mediator and at a mutually convenient
date and time.
11. Governing Law And Jurisdiction
This contract shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of Guyana, whose
Courts shall be the Courts of exclusive jurisdiction.
TGC has strived since its inception to be one of the most prestigious casinos in Guyana, Geared
towards excellent customer service and maximum comfort and enjoyment at our casino. You will be
expected to operate in a manner to enhance the casino’s business wherever possible.
Should the foregoing terms and conditions meet with your approval, please sign and return the attached
