For the completion of this School Based Assessment I would like to applaud my teacher Mrs.
Walker for her help, my fellow classmates and last but not least God. Without his loving mercy
his project would not be finished.

                         Thank you all
Introduction
In this School Based Assessment the executive summary of the company Mon Bonheur will be
expressed. Some of which are the organizational chart and the governmental regulations. This
School Based Assessment will be focusing on the marketing department of this company.
Description of business
Mon Bonheur ‘My Bliss’ is a sole trader ship company in the art and production of make-up.
The company will depend on Aquaculture for its resources. Both companies are situated in
Kingston, which makes delivery and retrieval fast, easy and effective. The capital city is highly
populated and will provide recognition to the establishment. The make-up will be made from
herbs and ground provisions such as coffee, mint and wheat. The objectives are to gain
recognition, wealth, and independence and provide job opportunities for the future economy.
Marketing Department
Organizational chart of the Marketing Department

                     Marketing Manager

                     Research Personnel

                    Sales Representative

According to the organizational chart above, the Sales Representative and the Research
Personnel will be subordinates to the Marketing Manager. The marketing manager will be the
overseer of the marketing department. The Sales Representative will be reporting to the Research
Personnel on any queries which may arise and the Research Personnel will have to give the Sales
Representative all the information required to inform the general audience of the product, and
explain why some measures are taken to advertise the product as well as conduct research on
those in high demand. The Sales Representative will take opinions from the public and inform
consumers on new items in stock.
Market Research
Target Population

Beauty cosmetics will be for females in mid-teens to adults. We will be producing for all
economic social classes. Females are normally party-goers and have a ‘knock’ for looking
younger or older than usual.

Price

Two prices being considered are Penetrating Pricing and Psychological Pricing.

Penetrating Pricing- This is to sell a product at a low price in order to have an instant attraction
to the item by buyers.

Psychological Pricing- This is when a seller uses the price to respond in an emotional, rather than
rational basis, for example, ‘price point perspective’ 99 cents instead of one dollar.

Competitors

The competitors of Mon Bonheur will be Opal, L’Oreal and Dark and Lovely. Meanwhile the
competitors are international, Mon Bonheur will be sold island wide. Mon Bonheur will be
solely Jamaican, this will bring natives to the product and sponsoring will be attained
Product
                                           Branding

The branding will have two eyes surrounded by a polar border with the slogan ‘Time to Break
Free’. The coordination will symbolize a beautiful person being trapped in the cold thought of
her being ugly. The person in returns gets fed up with these thoughts and ‘breaks free’.

                                                             By Sasha-kay Cowan
Packaging

Plastic containers will be used as they are durable, stable, recyclable and flexible. Small caps
will be used for lip glosses, mascaras and lipsticks. All products will vary in shape and size also
the facts will be at the back. This is a plain indication of how the packaging will be like.
Place (Distribution Channel)
The indirect distribution channel will be used to get the products to the consumer. The company
will sell their make-up to wholesalers and retailers. The company will have a small van for
delivery to the wholesalers and retailers. And from the retailers and wholesalers the product will
be sold to the consumers.
Promotion Mix
Advertisement is crucial and with the usage of techniques and the media, the product will be
recognized, for example posters, commercials, brochures and banners. Another method is public
relations, as it helps persons to have a better understanding of the product. Upon helping persons
in understanding they also get suggestions on what they can do to improve the product by the
public. A public relations officer may go to random consumers and exchange thoughts and
opinions on the product.
Government Regulations
The company will be in full acceptance with the Health and Safety Act, Trade License,
copyright laws, patent, import and export license as well as any other authorization needed to run
the business legally. The company will also be paying taxes to the government and the bills for
the cost of production. In attaining these authorizations the business will be able to gain the trust
of the government and it will be a legal company and not be in association with any criminal
activities which may lead to foreclosure or imprisonment. Consumers will then have trust in the
company that a good product is being sold to them.
Use of Technology
The use of technology will not be as great or put into place as the manual labor. Only three
telephones will be used, one at each branch of the building, one fax machine, six radios, two
computers and on van to transport the finished goods to be sold to wholesalers and retailers.
Since it will be a small business only few electronics will be used in the facility.
Consumer complaints
Consumers are prospective and one thing always catches their eyes and it’s the prices. Persons
will argue about the prices but Mon Bonheur promises to have the prices at a low, so that even
persons at the low economic class will be able to afford the product. Not only the social class but
persons are thrifty nowadays and find means to which they can save money, because of Mon
Bonheur’s affordability it will help making saving money easy for thrifty buyers.
Ethical issues
Since Mon Bonheur uses no technology which emits toxic fumes, it does not contribute to the
emissions. Recycling of plastic bottles will be in effect, the sewage will be properly and legally
disposed of and rubbish will be thrown in skips and be collected by the garbage trucks. No
littering will be tolerated on and around the compound. In doing these, it creates a clean and
functional environment for the workers to work in and it prevents contamination of the make-up
by germs and bacteria. Consumers only buy if they know the environment is healthy, no person
will buy from a filthy area and with this said and done, the trust in us will build.

By having good ethical standard, the business will be seen by the costumers as one of
principle and gives respect to costumers. This will, in turn, encourage them to support the
business.
