This document discusses and defines several job roles related to filmmaking, including actors, directors, and cameramen. It provides examples of each role for a student thriller project. Actors take on character roles and bring them to life through facial expressions and body language. The director guides the vision and oversees the cast and crew. For the student project, directing duties will be shared among the group. The cameraman is responsible for getting different camera shots and cooperating with the director to achieve the best shots; for the student thriller, this role is allocated to three students.

Exploring the Differences Between Directing a Documentary and an Action MovieMark Murphy Director
Directing a documentary and an action movie are two completely different experiences. Documentary filmmaking requires a director to capture real-life events as they happen, while action movie directing requires the director to create a story and direct actors in scenes that are not real life.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle

2. Actors
An actor is someone who is given the role to play another character in a
performance, whether is it on stage, in a film, on television or on a radio
programme.
They are usually supplied with a script to read from to help them interpret and
express the character that they are playing successfully and in order for them to
bring their character to life. Often actors are made to improvise so that if they
forget their lines from the script then they can still carry on although, this only really
happens on stage as you can re-film footage if it’s a television programme or film.
Actors carry a lot of responsibility whether the performance is a success or not.
Actors must be able to adapt to be able to play many different character roles for
many jobs that they may be given over a period of time.
3. Actors in our thriller
We decided that Millie will be our actress in our thriller as she is the least
camera shy and she was up to the challenge of playing her character’s role.
Also, we are going to feature Tatiana’s brother as the antagonist in our thriller
as he fits the character’s role of a middle-aged male.
It is critical that Millie must stay in character at all times to ensure that our
thriller is believable for the audience when watching. She will be the actress
that opens the thriller and also ends it too which shows what a dominant and
important role she will be playing. She will have to use her acting skills
throughout the thriller by bother her facial expressions and body language for
it to succeed.
Millie will need to be aware to listen to our signals such as ‘action’ and ‘cut’ to
know when to go and when to stop. She will have to stay focused and ignore
any distractions in order to stay in character.
4. Director
A director is a person who controls the making of a film and supervises the
actors and technical crew.
Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and
visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment
of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members,
production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking.
The film director gives direction to the cast and crew and creates an overall
vision through which a film eventually becomes realized, or noticed.
Directors use different approaches. Some outline a general plotline and let the
actors improvise dialogue, while others control every aspect, and demand that
the actors and crew follow instructions precisely.
Overall, the job role of a director is to guide the actors and the cameraman to
create his vision.
5. Director in our thriller
This role will not be allocated to anyone specifically in our group
as all of us will share our own ideas and have our own input. We
all have our own opinions in which we believe will help our final
thriller succeed and then we will all conclude on decisions and
ideas. We all agreed that decisions should not be left down to
one person and that we will all have to agree with each other in
the end. As we are all individuals, we all bring our own ideas to
the group which will contribute to a thriller in order to achieve the
best result that we possibly can.
6. Cameraman
A camera operator, sometimes informally called a cameraman or a
camerawoman, is a professional operator of a film or video camera.
In filmmaking, the person designing the lighting is the
cinematographer or director of photography, who is also informally
called a "cameraman" though it is a different job.
They have the responsibility to get the different camera shots and
angles of footage by physically moving about the camera. The
cameraman has to cooperate with the director, actors and crew to
achieve the best shots possible to narrate the plot.
7. Cameraman in our thriller
This role is allocated to myself, Chloe and Katie as Millie
will be on the other side of the camera acting. We will all
have our own input to suggest which we believe will be
the best shots and angles to make it understandable for
the audience when watching. This way it will give us the
best results to see who’s ideas contributes well, rather than
just one person’s perspective. If we all agree with every
shot that we use, this will have an advantage for our final
thriller.
