Publicly quoted companies now required to include
greenhouse gas emissions data in their financial report
Firms activities will include emissions from vehicles they
are responsible for – this will include privately owned
vehicles used at work
Leasing firms are able to support with vehicle emission
data

19. CO2 Audits
Larger organisations will have to introduce a programme
of regular energy audits
Audit must be undertaken by 5 December 2015 and
every 4 years thereafter
BVRLA responded to the consultation and called for:
– commuting to work should be excluded
– only business related travel activities to be included
– Rental and leasing firms are able to conduct audits
The outcome of consultation is expected end of Q1 2014

– Diesel vehicles tend to have a lowerCO2 emissions than petrol but much
higher NOx emissions
Promote sustainable travel
– Supporting the Mayor’s cycling vision
– Working with the freight industry
– Encourage zero emission deliveries
Stimulate low emissions vehicle market
– Supporting Mayor’s ambition for electric, plug-in hybrid and alternative fuel
vehicles to be common place on London’s streets
