1. Japanese Internment Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Japanese internment can be a challenging undertaking. The
complexity lies not only in the need for thorough research and understanding of historical events
but also in the emotional sensitivity surrounding the topic. Delving into the experiences of
Japanese Americans during World War II requires a delicate balance of empathy, historical
analysis, and critical evaluation.
To begin with, one must navigate through a plethora of primary and secondary sources, including
firsthand accounts, government documents, and scholarly articles. This demands a significant
investment of time and effort to sift through the vast amount of information available and
discern credible sources from biased ones. Understanding the historical context, including the
geopolitical tensions that led to the internment, adds another layer of complexity.
Moreover, crafting a well-rounded essay on Japanese internment involves grappling with the
ethical implications of the events. Addressing the violation of civil liberties and the profound
impact on individuals and communities requires a nuanced approach. Sensitivity to the human
stories behind the policies, as well as the broader consequences on society, is crucial.
Analyzing the responses of various stakeholders, such as the government, the public, and the
Japanese American community, adds yet another dimension to the challenge. It requires an ability
to critically evaluate different perspectives, discerning between justifications made at the time
and contemporary reflections on the historical events.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Japanese internment is a demanding task that necessitates
meticulous research, a nuanced understanding of history, and a compassionate approach to the
human experience. Successfully navigating through the intricacies of this topic requires a
commitment to presenting a well-rounded and informed perspective.

2. Compare And Contrast Peare And George Washington
Everybody knows something about the American Revolution. But how many people
know about the eerily similar, yet drastically different Irish Easter Rising and
subsequent revolution? Causes, leaders, battles, treaties, resolutions, and effects are a
part of every country. Sometimes they are similar, and other times not, as is the case
with America and Ireland. Padraig Pearse and George Washington were both elected
commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever commanded large armies
before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also lost more
battles than they won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was
the most different. Washington won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually
surrendered, saving countless lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the Irish leaders were writers, poets, or scholars with little to no military
training. In contrast, the Americans had a lot of trained and capable leaders. These
drastically different leaders had drastically different effects on the Revolutions.
Washington s unique military tactics won the American Revolution, starting when he
had the idea to cross the Delaware. And Pearse, although he lost, went down in
history for his bravery when faced with insurmountable odds. One of Pearse s most
famous quotes reads They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they
have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think they have
foreseen everything, think that they provided against everything; but the fools, the
fools, the fools! they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these
graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. This quote meant much more after the
executions of sixteen Irish rebel commandants than it did when it was first said at
Jeremiah O Donovan Rossa s funeral. It gave hope to young revolutionaries and
incited rebellion against
3. How Does Oil Affect Our Lives Depend On Oil
Introduction
Most people probably do not think about how much of their lives depend on oil.
This profitable commodity is constantly being used around the world, twenty four
hours a day and seven days a week. From the scented creams people use on their
bodies, to the airline jets soaring above, oils are being used. Oil is one of three major
forms of fossil fuels, coal and natural gas being the rest. Fossil fuels began forming
millions of years ago in the Carboniferous Period when trees, plants, and small
organisms died (DOE, 2015). Eventually the fossils sank to the bottom of many
swamps and oceans forming layers of peat (a brown, soil like, and spongy
material). Over thousands of years, peat was covered by clay, sand, and other
minerals which turned into a type of rock called sedimentary. Over thousands of
years rocks piled on top of the peat creating more pressure. Eventually the pressure
managed to squeeze water out of the peat and over millions of years, this mineral rich
water turned into the three major fossil fuels that people know and use today (DOE,
2015). Regardless of its proficiency and success, the oil industry has become one of
the most unethical businesses in the world. Their blatant disregard for the
environment and its inhabitants have continuously put them in the crosshairs of
many conservatives and concerned citizens. This paper primarily focuses on the
ethical dilemmas that surround the oil industry.

4. Canada s Cyber Security Policy
Cyber Security
Cyber security policy is largely dominated by two separate but similar incidents,
cyber terrorism and state sponsored events. A cyber terrorist attack may be defined as
a computer based attack, the purpose of which is to cause enough destruction that it
intimidates a government into compliance for political purposes (XX1). State
sponsored attacks, by contrast, is the intentional use of cyberspace by governments to
illegally obtain classified information from another state. Such information may be
used for malicious purposes, such as assessing an enemy state s weaknesses (XX).

Malware, or malicious software , has taken different forms and names for years.
Spyware and viruses are just a few of the common titles attributed to this devastating
means of cyber attack, the main purpose of which is to ultimately compromise a rival
s computer infrastructure. State sponsored attacks have typically been perpetrated by
means of malware. Spear phishing is one particularly popular means of malware,
where by a target is fooled into opening a corrupted email or file, only to unwittingly
download a compromising piece of malware onto their computer (XX). Once this
malware is installed, control of the computer is placed in the hands of the hacker,
allowing them to hack other networks while proving impossible to track down
(XX18). China has been a prime culprit for spear phishing attacks, often following
current events to target respective dignitaries. For instance, the 2010 G20 Summit
saw thousands of spear phishing campaigns against officials, with email titles labelled
in relation to the Summit itself (XX). Countless departments, institutions, and
governments have fallen victim to spear phishing campaigns, at the count of millions
of dollars and priceless information

Coach Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K.) and Coach Robert Knight (Coach Knight) were
two of the most winning and successful coaches to ever coach basketball. These men
are not just known for their record wins, but for their unique leadership. They each
had a unique way of leading their teams. Coach Knight was Indiana University s head
basketball coachand became a legend there. Coach K. was the head coach at Duke
University since 1980. A fact of interest, both of these two men knew each other in
an earlier time. Coach Knight had been Mike Krzyzewskis basketball coach when he

conceptual skills a higher priority. Coach K. was a genius in the ability of knowing
his professions; this just means his technical skills took a lower priority.
The capacity model by Michael Mumford contains five components. The skills that
attributed to the success of Coach Knight are the individual attributes. The skills of
competency, motivation and more specifically problem solving skills were the
skills he possessed according to this model. He had a deficit in his social judgment
skills and environmental influences that, in turn, worked well for Coach K and to his
success. Coach K. often remarked on his upbringing and how this influenced the
quality of his communication. Coach K. struggled with the area of motivation,
especially as it relates to dominance. As stated above, Coach K. did not want to be a
dictator, which simply meant domination skills where not his priority.
The leadership styles of Coach Knight and Coach K. are different in a few aspects
using the Blake Mouton Managerial Grid. When referring to this leadership grid,
Coach Knight falls under Produce or Parish leadership. He views the players as
being the means to an end. When we look at Coach K using this grid he exemplifies
high production high people style. He stresses the needs of producing and the needs
of people of being an equal priority.

As one can differentiate levels of political jurisdictions in the physical into groups like
federal, state, and local domains, socio political jurisdictions can be separated
between differentiating online communities. Like the physical districts who have
different agendas that reflect each differing sovereignty, online communities differ in
political agendas, leanings, and goals in order to serve their community s needs.
There are many types of online communities based on individual s interests or identity
that allow for political discussions within their group. This includes fandoms. As one
takes an anecdotal glance at the fragmented groups online, it is not hard to find
fandom cultures around every corner. Fandoms can be described as an extraordinary
form of audiencing that includes everything from emotional attachment to performers
to obsessive collecting (Cavicchi, 2014). Since we entered the Internet age, fandom
has seen a change. What was previously considered to be obsessive and abnormal has
become an accepted common practice that is continually reinforced by niche
marketing and new technologies. Whether fandom of sports, media artifacts, or
celebrities, it is easy to lurk through each s unique language, culture, and community.
In one corner we find participants sharing Boromir memes, and we see fantasy
football players debated about player stats. While commonly, fandom community in
nature are designed to upheld a positive and fun conversation about the fandom

10. How Did Akhenaten Changed Religion And Politics Within
The...
Akhenaten changed religion and politics within the Amarna period through his large
scale religious and artistic reforms, decision to leave Thebes and make Amarna the
capital and relations with third party powers in the ancient Near East.
Early on in his reign Akhenaten began introducing new artistic styles, both in
relation to religion and personal portrayals of the royal family. After moving the
capital from Thebes to Amarna in search of new land on which to worship Aten (the
God of sun/light) the artistic portrayal of the god changed to become one the most
symbolic and abstract depictions of a God in Ancient Egypt (Weigall 1922, 120). The
new depiction of Aten became a sun disc with long rays extending hands down to
earth, and often to the royal family or the king himself. This can be thought of as
symbolising the power given to the king by the Gods (Kempt 1989, 173). Akhenaten
also introduced his own style of royal artwork, in which the royal family was
represented in an exaggerated manner. The most notable of these exaggerations was
the changes to facial features, such as the long skull and chin, and large oval eyes.
This is thought to perhaps represent the separation of the royal family from everyday
Egyptian people, however this contradicts with the meaning of another change to
Amarna artwork, the personal, intimate portraits of the king s family life (Kempt
1989, 265).
Akhenaten greatly influenced the way in which people worshiped by making
changes to traditional

The new mission is to forget past procedures and get those boys back home. He

The book of Deuteronomy is regarded as the fixed book for Old Testament study.
Deuteronomy was the book of the law which was found in the temple in the time of

Deuteronomy could also be used as to date other Old Testamentbooks. In the study of

Executive Summary Introduction
The rise of the U.S. health club industry can be traced back to the 1980s and 1990s
when the majority of health clubs emerged. By 2004, this $14 billion industry
claimed 41 million members. Although the health club industry operated in a
perfectly competitive market, several prominent key players gained large market
share, including Bally Total Fitness and 24 hour Fitness. This perfect competition
encouraged entry of smaller emerging firms into the industry. In 2004, the health club

Analysis
A number of recognizable key factors are responsible for the rise of the health club
phenomenon. The most notable factor was the growing concern of people s overall
health and well being. Awareness about the impact of obesity related diseases on
the quality of life and available health resources was heightened, especially
following a statement issued by the Surgeon General s office, which estimated the
annual mortality resulting from obesity complications to be over a quarter of a
million. Further research at the time showed about 6 in 10 American adults were
overweight or obese, with only 4 in 10 adults falling within the healthy people
indicator bracket. Between 1964 and 2004, 28 Surgeon General s reports had been
issued, all of which described the epidemiology and health consequences of unhealthy
behaviors.1. This general awareness resulted in about 17% of the U.S. population
becoming more enthusiastically committed to fitness activities, with 63%
recognizing the importance of fitness activities and 25% of whom actually attending
health fitness clubs. Also, a recent survey showed that 37% of exercisers were
motivated by the desire to control weight. Consciousness about body image and the
desire to reduce stress and meet new people also had an impact on the health club
phenomenon.

Parliament may make laws conferring original jurisdiction in the Supreme Court in
any matter (i) Based on this Constitution or involving its interpretation. The High
Court had to consider section 51 (xx) of the Constitution in this case. The meaning
of section 51 (xx) is the regulation of the activities of companies such as directors of
the company, which could be regulated by this too. This section could also be seen
as a protection of corporations. The appeal case Derrick v Cheung heard by the High
Court is because in section 73 of the Constitution, the High Court may hear appeals

A Research About Bocce
History: Bocce Ball has been evolving for thousands of years. The basics of the game
can be traced back to games that were played in Egypt around 5000 BC when people

the Pallino then throws the one Bocce Ball trying to get it as close to the Pallino as
possible without touching it.
3.)The next team then throws one ball trying to get closer than the first team. If team

17. The Musical Taste Is Subjective
Musical taste is subjective. Everyone has a different musical preference that
depends on their age, where they live, where they are from, what mood they are in,
and so on. For example, according to an interview with Freddy Matt who is a
college student in New Jersey, I listen to music, which is pop music, when I get
bored, or when I want to be relaxed. Otherwise, usually I do not listen to music
(Matt). According to another interview with bar patron Tom Hunk, who is 35 years
old, I listen to music for fun. Friday and Saturday night, I do go to a bar in order to
let myself go (Hunk). These examples show that people listen to music with different
purposes. On the other hand, people listen music when they do sports such as
running, weight lifting, walking, playing tennis, etc. Even though they live in the
same community, their perspective on music is different.
I have been living in Bergen County for two years, and I really want to explore our
county s musical culture. In order to look for the musical life and culture in Bergen
County, I searched for some musical stores and locations that are being used for live
music. When I was searching for venues, I found that many hired house bands, which
gives us the opportunity of experiencing live performance. For example, Dodo
Orchestra is one of them. According to gigmasters.com: Dodo Orchestra is a unique

Question 1 (4 Points)
Identify specific changes that were made in each of the 4 P s and explain how they
were directly responsible for the decrease in Snapple s brand value under Quakers
stewardship.
Product:
Quaker s primary change to the Snapple product was to manufacture Snapple in
much larger value sizes such as 32 and 64 ounce bottles (instead of Snapple s
original single serve 16 ounce ones). Quaker had had previous success in launching
their Gatorade jucies in larger sizes as consumers usually drank it after practice or a
work out, and so, were considerably thirsty. These consumers found the larger sizes
appealing as they needed to rehydrate, and the larger sizes enabled them to do that
more efficiently. However, this same product/ packaging model did not work on the
Snapple line, as Snapple was consumed by customers for a different reason.
Customers drank Snapple during lunch time or in the afternoon as something they
can finish quickly. So the large serving sizes did not appeal to them at all.

However, the prices of each individual drink naturally would have become more
expensive when they introduced the larger sizes, compared to the smaller sizes. The
size, and thereforem price differential may have been unappealing to Snapple s
regular customers making them less inclined to purchase Snapple drinks. This may
have further contrbiuted to the ~$234 million drop in sales under the Quaker

The day is Thursday, March 16. I am at the Child Discovery Center, observing
Josiah, age 8. Josiah is part of the after school program, in room 1. The observation
takes place outside, on the school s playground. The time is 4:30 pm. Josiah starts
to play a game of leprechaun tag , and he is it. He begins to run after two other
girls, his arms are lifted at his sides as he pumps them back and forth, and he is
running at a moderate pace. He is not as fast as the other children playing. While he
is chasing the girls, he comes up to a small wall. He extends his right foot, landing it
on the wall, then pushing off in one swift motion. He continues to run after the girls
for a few minutes, chasing them around the playground and avoiding objects and
people. Josiah slows down to a walk, arms resting at his... Show more content on

According to the book, children at Josiah s age should have mastered agility,
balance, coordination, power, reaction time and speed. I don t think Josiah showed
any real problem area that is concerning. I do think that he can improve more on his
gross motor development, since there s always room from growth, and I think
involving him in some different gross motor activities will help him improve even
more. The book also states that children at this age should have smooth and
controlled movements. Josiah s movements were all smooth, there wasn t a time
where he struggled to do something. He is able to smoothly and effectively perform
actions with ease. Josiah will benefit from some gross motor activities to help him
master all these skills. These activities include:
Involving Josiah in a sport like soccer. A sport can help him greatly improve his

Many women in developing countries do not have access to services like family
planning, antenatal care and delivery by a trained personnel (WHO, 2007). For
example, in a country like Uganda, only 30 percent of married women from the age
of 15 to 49 use modern family planning methods (Salwa Bitar McKenzie Lamborne,
2014).
Low rates of maternal health service utilisation in sub Saharan Africa have also been
attributed to the unequal gender relations arising from religious beliefs, teachings and
practices and cultural influences (Katherine Marshall, 2013; UNAIDS, 2014;

improvements in women s access to quality maternal healthcare, there is need for
strong partnership between the public health care sector and the private sector
particularly FBOs (Gill Z. et al., 2008; Widmer M et al. 2011; Gill Z et al. 2008). It
is against this background that I explore the different actors/providers of maternal and

The provision of maternal health care in developing countries.
There is a need to clarify the use of the terms state and government and Public

research, I use the term public sector which is defined by Duff J.F et al (2015:

international, national, regional and local levels . An exception is when the texts
make reference to specific governments, which disassociates the terms from each

23. Pornography Is A Widespread Modern Moral Issue
Pornography is a widespread modern moral issue. It is known as any erotic picture
or film made to arouse sexual desire. The definition of pornography is the printed
or visual display of explicit content, used to stimulate erotic feelings. In modern
society pornography or porn has become more easily accessible due to the use of
technology. The main purposes for it today are to stimulate ones feelings and it
has been turned into a sort of entertainment. In ancient times there were no words
for pornography, did it even exist? Certain passages from the bible provide
information as to whether there was porn and if it falls under the category of
something that is good for a society or is it something that is harmful to society.
Since the word pornography does not appear in the bible it may lead to the
conclusion that porn did not exist in ancient times. However there are words related
to it that may define it in certain passages, such as lust and coveting. In biblical times
these words play a large role in Israelites lives. They were not to be taken lightly. The
bible has one commandment that pertains solely to lust and coveting. Thou shall not
covet (Exodus 20:17). This commandment includes everything that belongs to your
neighbor, their house, everything in it and their wife. In biblical times the wife of a
man was thought of as the man s property. She belonged to him and in this
commandment she is seen as an object that is not to be lusted after. This
commandment stresses the

25. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cloud Computing
Question 1: The ever changing demands and innovations keep on bringing new
changes in information technology. Currently, cloud computing is considered as the
most critical application to Web 2.0 which has revolutionized content sharing
platforms. Web 2.0 is characterized by higher user interactivity, enhanced
communication channels, and more pervasive network connectivity (Fuchs et al.,
2013). On the other hand, cloud computing refers to technology model for enabling
ubiquitous access to computing services such as a database, storage, and servers
over the internet, also known as the cloud (Mathkunti, 2014). Cloud computing has
the following advantages to Web 2.0 application: users do not worry about the
hardware and software being used and corporate benefits from easier file sharing
(Mathkunti, 2014). Other advantages are related to cost, reliability, flexibility, and
collaboration. Cloud computing is argued to eliminate expenses associated with
purchasing software and hardware as well as improve performance and reliability of
computing (Breeding, 2012). However, there are also some issues related to cloud
computing. These issues include privacy and security, emergency situations,
standards, legality, and pricing. Regarding privacy and security, there is a question on
how well are security policies managed in cloud computing (Breeding, 2012).
Although cloud computing provides various advantages, some companies are
reluctant to host their proprietary data in the cloud due to

Race in the ancient world is incomparable to the significance race takes on in the
twenty first century. Race is most often used as a natural method to classify people;
therefore it has never ceased to exist. The meaning behind race continues to evolve
over time, as some physical, mental and social characteristics become more desirable
than others. Gomez, in Reversing Sail explores the connection between raceand
slavery in the ancient world. Unlike the case in the eighteenth and nineteenth
centuries, race was not the exclusive or vital factor when considering who was to
be enslaved. In the ancient world there was an increased importance on religious
affiliation. In Arabia, any non Muslim who rejected an offer to convert to Islam
and also did not have a protective pact was eligible to become enslaved (Gomez

and slavery. Interpreting biblical passages can lead to controversy, due... Show more

The ancient Egyptians saw themselves as superior to everyone else, but it was not
simply because of their shared skin color or other physical attributes. The Egyptians
viewed non Egyptians as uncivilized. This judgment had more to do with land of
birth and culture than outside appearance. (Gomez 10). Egyptians were in close
contact with the people of Nubia. Nubians were commonly used as laborers and some
were even enslaved. Nubian women were highly sought after. In response, they
gained an immense amount of power, as they became Egyptian royals. This points out
that race must have existed as a category, because the Egyptians obviously labeled
themselves as different from the Nubians. Even though the Egyptians saw the
Nubians as unrelated, they still embraced their presence and allowed Nubian culture
to infuse into the Egyptian world (Gomez

wanted Christians and even other religions to believe in the truth and that they
weren t given the freedom of speech. To take the iconic example: slavery, which for
centuries Christians had assumed was a necessary evil or simply a fact of life. A
few Protestants in the 1700s and many more in 1800s reached a new conviction:
that slavery was an absolute and intolerable evil. The arguments and battles were
bitter, but in the end the old orthodoxy was overthrown. Censorship was worn
down by Protestants refusal to shut up when told to, and by their bare knuckles
style of public argument (CNN, Ryrie). New natural sciences between the 16th and
17th centuries were moved by the protestants colleges and scholars. They want put
out that freedom of speech and of worship were actually good things, not just
unavoidable necessities to be tolerated (CNN, Ryrie). In democracy, Luther wanted
to be the lead of democracy. Protestants wanted good social and order of monarchy.
They wanted to be able to have their voices and freedom of speech and be able to
do things in their own hands. If we all stand equal before God, it is hard not to
conclude that we should all have a voice before this world s rulers (CNN, Ryrie).
Thirdly, limited government, Protestants have wanted and done taken over the

Frank Norris s novel McTeague explores the decay of society in the early twentieth
century. Set in San Francisco, a place where anything can happen...where fact is often
stranger than fiction (McElrath, Jr. 447), Norris explores themes of greed and
naturalism, revealing the darker side of human psyche. What can be found most
disturbing is the way that Norris portrays McTeague, in shocking detail, as nothing
more than a brute animal at his core. Norris explores the greed and savage animalism
that lurks inside McTeague.

foreshadowing at this point and more animal imagery to describe the silent rage

some employ their power for respectable reasons, often times power is not used in
honorable ways. The matter of abuse of authority is prevalent in the story Of Mice

exceedingly often, as shown by Curley attacking countless others, including Lennie, a

33. Beethoven Symphony Musical Analysis
The concert that I watched included the Berlin Philharmonic s performances of
Beethoven s Symphony No. 4 in B flat Major, and Beethoven s Symphony No. 7 in
A Major, Op. 92. Both of these pieces were written in Beethoven s second period of
composition, during which he began to pull away from Classical ideals (although
from time to time still drawing influence from them) in exchange for what were
cornerstones of the evolving Romantic movement. Both of these symphonies consist
of a full orchestrawith a conductor. Many tenets of Beethoven s compositional style
manifest themselves in these two symphonies; most broadly the sense of urgency
that comes from his use of almost all musical elements possible, from the vastness
of register, to syncopation, to accentuation and tonal dissonances. In particular,
these two symphonies are best observed as studies in contrast, as they are very
dynamically and rhythmically focused; even at the expense of main melodic
ideas. Even though they are not necessarily hallmarks of the organic growth of a
thematic idea, their sheer rhythmic drive and stamina over long periods of time
makes them especially noteworthy as two great Romantic symphonies. The first
movement of Beethoven s fourth (Adagio Allegro Vivace) opens in a solemn and
mysterious way light on its feet, the string instruments are tenuous and nearly lack
decisiveness in their playing. The piece seems to switch keys quite a bit, devoid of
any real direction, and only as time passes does it begin to solidify and gain
traction, placing more accentuation on individual notes. Finally, it locks into a key,
and becomes very upbeat and triumphant. There are several runs of arpeggios as
well as definitive accentuation throughout. Despite this, there are still very few
consistent melodic ideas; rather a melody will poke its head through and be
wrapped up and carried away in a string of runs instead. There is a lot of alternation
and overlap between staccato and legato. It is not quite chaotic enough to be chaos,
yet the movement is not nearly together enough to fit more Classical standards for
meter and theme emphasis seems to be placed on the dynamism in and of itself.
In the second movement (Adagio) a theme is still no

to those who can do the appropriate work. The one who will delegate or prioritize

Delegation consists of knowing the team members scopes of practice and
appropriately assigning tasks for those in the team to complete in a given situation.
Delegation entails knowing who can be delegated what task, proper communication

In the agreement FVC would become a subsidiary of RSE, and would maintain its
identity and management staff, furthermore no lay offs of staff are expected or

company and want to preserve it.
To this effect, they are looking to keep Flinder (62 years old) as CEO of the new

FVC is traded in NASDAQ while RSE is traded in the American Stock Exchange
Market CAP for both companies are FVC $100M and RSE $1.4B

dining chair thinking how this summerhad been one of the most uneventful summers
I had ever had. I daydreamed about the summers of when I was living in Upstate New

We filled those hot summer days playing hopscotch and marbles, or rolled down
the hills in my yard until we felt so dizzy that we couldn t stand. The brook below
our house was gentle. Sometimes we would both go down, sit on the bridge while
we let our feet hang loose to let the cooling water drip past our toes, and breathed in
the smell of pine and moss. The sound of rushing water hitting the rocks was
soothing. You could see giant bullfrogs peering their heads up and out of the water,
as still as could be. Although their green coloring blends in with the moss, I always
knew to look for a pair of gleaming yellow eyes, and their white chin that was
always above the surface of the water. We usually let them be, but sometimes we
liked to try to catch their wet and slimy

The Rainforests of the Atsinanana is a place like no other. The continent of
Madagascar can be found 200 miles off the east coast of Africa and completed full
separation from all other land masses more than 60 million years ago (Staff W.,
2001). The island of Madagascar has lived in isolation and with isolation gives the
Rainforests of Atsinanana an abundance of plants and animals found nowhere else
in the world. This unique place is made up of six national parks and was approved
by UNESCO committee in New Zealand (WWF, n.d.). The Rainforests of Atsinanana
is currently on the list of world heritage sites in ... Show more content on

One type of lemur is nocturnal and is only active in the night and the other type is
diurnal and spends the days eating, mating, and playing (2005). Some are large in
size like the indri, and others such as the Berthe s mouse lemur is the smallest in the
world (2005). Although these creatures are different in characteristics, they have one
similarity and that is there home in Madagascar. Aside from many types of lemurs,
there are many other unique creatures found in the Rainforests of the Atsinanana in
Madagascar. Other species include the Flying fox bats, Fossa, Fanaloka, Tenrece,
spear nosed snake, and more than 3,000 endemic butterflies (Ward M, 2008). The
isolation of this island and history has made primate extinction real. At this time
there are at least 15 species of lemur that have gone extinct (2005). The main cause
of these primates going extinct is because of the habitat loss from deforestation
only leaving 8.5% of the original forests. The Rainforests of the Atsinanana
Madagascar is not only unique for many types of species it is home to, but also for
the unique plant life. Atsinanana has more than 12,000 plant species known in
Madagascar, which are also endemic. Six of eight baobab trees that are endemic to
Madagascar. Baobabs are bottle shaped trees with large bases and branches that
make a flat appearance to the top. The different types of baobab trees include
41. Inequation Of Women In The Elizabethan Society By
William...
In the traditional society, a woman who is not married would be cursed, but to
Beatrice, that is a non bothering issue to worry about. Shakespeare uses metaphor
to communicate this idea where Beatrice uses a cow s horn to mean men. She says
that a curst cow has short horns whereas a too curst one has none, meaning that she
is ready to be too curst. Hero, on the other hand, conforms to her condition (England
24). When she is denounced, she is limited with her condition and has to live like
that without challenging it. Beatrice too is weak to oppose Claudio to defend her
due to her physique, which seems inferior to that of a woman. This shows that women
are limited due to their gender, which deters them from living like men. In other
words, there is a lot that women need to do in order to live like their male
counterparts. This demonstrates that even though the contemporary woman has done
much to be visible in the society, there are still areas that need to be addressed in
order for her to fully bargain for her space.
From the above background, it is imperative to observe that Shakespeare used
Beatrice as perfect character to challenge the ugly veracity about the way women
were treated in the Elizabethan society. Elizabethan society is full of inequalities and
discrimination against women, which are evident in Beatrice s language. The same is
evident in the way male characters treat the females. They consider themselves more
superior, more so in the concept of honor. Beatrice
42. What Are The Similarities Between Samuel Johnson And
Noah...
The act of composing dictionaries, lexicography, was seen as peculiar; however,
men such as Samuel Johnson and Noah Webster dared to defy such ideologies. Both
men had their own reasons for taking on the daunting challenge of writing a
dictionary of the English Language. Their reasons may greatly differ such as
Webster s motivation of strengthening the national identity and Johnson s reason of
standardizing words with his witty definitions. Despite of their different motives for
defining words, Samuel Johnson and Noah Webster s beliefs can cross paths, they
both wanted certain words to be spelled more appropriately. Samuel Johnson was
widely known for his criticism and witty remarks towards a variety of people, which
does not exclude himself. Johnson s dictionaryis filled with facetious definitions that
are mocking someone. For instance, his famous definitionof oats is offensive towards
Scottish people. His definition of the word oats is, A grain, which in England is
generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people. The way he
chose to define the word oats reveals not only that Johnson thought the Scots were
hapless and inferior, but also that Johnson had a critical tone in his dictionary, A
Dictionary of the English Language. Whereas Noah Webster maintain a more
respectful and direct tone. In Webster s Compendious Dictionary of the English
language, his definitions do not exhibit any bias. Illustrations of this are
governmental words he

Professional Ethics
Introduction
Professional ethics are the standards set by people in their professions. By setting
standards in the form of professional ethics, people in their professions work
together to uphold their positions and reputations. An organization expects theirs
employees to represent them ethically as they are part of the organization. Policies
are another type of standards or code of ethics set by the organization and everyone
who is part of it is expected to constitute them. Professional ethics is also defined as
what professional choose to do when they face a problem at work that involves a
moral issue. . These ethics turn out to be the guiding principles for to make an
individual well disciplined and highly successful in his personal life which may
include all of his family, friends, acquaintances, relatives etc. These are the specific
set of moral principles that help a certain individual or an organization to develop
their attitude and behavioural aspects that are most probably likeable by others.
From the picture, highlighted part that shows the words moral principles are the most
important words in professional ethics. Without moral principles,
44. Disadvantages Of High-Stakes Testing
In spite of critics, educational reform in Texas continued to rely on testing in an effort
to meet accountability required at the state level. Calls for accountability seem to
usually rise from the political community. When the political community demands
that tests serve high stakes accountability functions, professional testing standards can
be easily compromised. In accountability contexts, testresults decide which students
are retained in grade, held back from graduation, and assigned to tracks or special
classifications...high stakes testing produces teaching and testing practices that lead
to inflated test scores and further disadvantage already disadvantaged students,
(Smith and Fey, 2000, p. 334). To call for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Associations to which test specialists belong agree that the validity standard depends
on the test s context and it s used. A test may be validated for some uses and not
others (Smith et al., 2000). McDonnell (1997) found that the political community
believed the benefits of the assessment policy would outweigh any harm that might
be caused by less than reliable or invalid tests. Some may wonder why teaching to the
test is not a good practice and a healthy basic skills emphasis. They may even suggest
that teaching to the test results is basic instruction even in the least advantaged
educational situations. Research indicates that there is little evidence to indicate that
high stakes accountability testing and reform have had much impact on overall school
performance beyond increased scores on the individual test that was the instrument
of the state policy (Mehrens, 1998). Theory validity of TAAS fell short of
professional standards in other ways: While Texas scores on the math part of the
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) have risen dramatically the
results, perhaps, of all that drill and test practice Texas students made only small
gains in the NAEP reading test between 1992 and 1998, no gain what so ever
between 1993 and 1996 on nationally normed achievement tests in reading, and not
much gain in other subjects...They have not made much gain on the SAT, either
(Schrag, 2000).Since 1999, Texas has begun to administer the Texas Assessment of
Knowledge and Skills exam and has continued to follow the high stakes
consequences for failing the tests at the 3, 6 and 10th grades. This current test battery
has been said to be more difficult than the earlier basic skills exams. One result of the
wide use of exams to measure student achievement has been the growth of alternative
education. The website for the Texas
