Sesbania bispinosa is a legume plant from the Fabaceae family that is commonly known as spiny sesbania. It fixes nitrogen in the soil to improve fertility and can be used as green manure, fodder, or firewood. Sesbania bispinosa grows well when seeded between June and July in India, yielding around 600 kg per hectare, but produces lower seed yields if planted after September. Several nematodes can attack the plant, though parasitic attacks can be controlled through insecticide use.
