PERSONAL STATEMENT
Driven, dynamic and highly experienced General Manager with 21 years experience in my own company as a Supply
Chain Manager and a Logistics Manager. I thrive both in independent and collaborative work environments. Proven track
record as a supply chain manager with management skills to facilitate the growth of a customer base from zero to over 340 customers
nationwide.
I have a motivational and supportive management style and I am determined to succeed and further my career in a new challenging position
within a fast growing organisation.
Key Skills – Supply chain management, facilities management including maintenance and preventative maintenance
management, budget planning, administration, transport maintenance and warehouse operations management, retail
operations management and technology.
Facilities Management-As a business owner I have gained invaluable experience in facilities
management .I was solely responsible for managing the upkeep of several of my own warehouse
units. This involved property management including all planned maintenance and preventative
maintenance ,health and safety issues ,insurance costs, heating and lighting maintenance, pest
control and security of all the units .I personally dealt with all transport companies in Ireland and
from abroad to insure the prompt and safe delivery of all products from supplier to our
warehouses .Because some of our products were very delicate every delivery had to be planned
and managed to ensure the minimum amount of damage while unloading from supplier
containers. I personally managed the transport logistics daily to optimise the distribution network
for our own van delivery service nationwide. This alone took a lot of staff management because of
necessity to load delivery vans after hours for an early morning delivery schedule nationwide.
Supply Chain Management-My experience in managing the start-up of a new venture as a
Wholesale Distributor helped me develop my management skills effectively across a varied range
of management roles.
These management roles included:
• Procurement of a suitable industrial unit suitable for a wholesale business distributing a
varied range of products.
• Design of unit layout for easy access of delivery trucks and the loading of our own
transport vehicles for nationwide delivery.
• Management of H&S for all staff members and continues revision of all operating
procedures and proper training for all forklift and commercial drivers.
• Management of best practice solutions in transport function including total management
of all company transport vehicles. Strict management over all maintenance and servicing
schedules over all transport vehicles to adhere to safety standards and optimisation of
each individual vehicle.
• Routine logistic management meetings with delivery personal to optimise delivery routes
to best practice standards as part of our transport team.
• Constant re-design of storage bays to facilitate expanding volume of products due to
rapid growth in business.
• Management of all re-cycling and waste disposal due to volatile nature of packing crates.

Parts Development Sales for BMW, MINI, CITROEN AND HYUNDAI:
Responsible for the development of parts, accessory, s, Trade Sales, Retail Sales in the Waterford, Kilkenny
and Clonmel region. I am also responsible for stock purchasing and stock control and for the management of
the workshop parts requirements on a daily basis.

Retail/trade/wholesale motor parts distributor. It was my responsibility to manage all retail /trade/wholesale sales and
all other responsibilities involved in running a business. James Walsh Motor Factors was set up in 1992 .I developed the
business over a 21 year period with a staff of 8 people .I organised and trained all staff members in counter sales and van
deliveries and van sales. I organised all van routes and controlled all accounts attached to these sales. All targets and

• Attract new business and customers while keeping current clients sales increasing.

our company and I had to pick which radio add suited my company best .The best radio add chosen was then played on
show for free for 2 days .We had a great response from customers and the Bobble Head Ray on display behind our
counter was always a great talking point with customers.

Ray Darcy Show: Our company was chosen to appear on Ray Darcy Show where Ray and Jenny produced 2 adds for our company and I had to pick which radio add suited my company best .The best radio add chosen was then played on show for free for 2 days .We had a great response from customers and the Bobble Head Ray on display behind our counter was always a great talking point with customers.
