Country Codes There are over 220 countries connected to Internet Each is identified by a two-character code for international  mail Examples: .US  =  United States .DE  =  Germany .TW  =  Taiwan .AU  =  Australia .CH  =  Switzerland
Type of Site The type of site is a three character identifier preceding the country code (if a country code is used) Examples : .com  =  Commercial  (cserve.com) .edu  =  Educational  (ucdavis.edu) .gov  =  U.S. Government  (whitehouse.gov) .mil  =  U.S. Military  (af.mil) .net  =  Network Information / Operations  Centers (nyser.net) .org  =  Non-profit Organizations (search.org)
