This document discusses the work of ITU-T Study Group 5 (SG5) on developing international standards to help countries address environmental challenges like climate change through information and communication technologies (ICTs). SG5 aims to assist countries in implementing standards on climate change adaptation and mitigation. It also researches how to make ICT companies more sustainable and socially responsible through areas like e-waste reduction, energy efficiency, and smart sustainable cities. SG5 oversees questions related to electromagnetic compatibility, energy efficiency, circular economy and e-waste under its work programs. It also establishes regional groups to support efforts in different parts of the world.
