The ITSMF STEM Education Foundation
provides scholarships to support stu-
dents in advancing their college-lev-
el education in Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math (STEM) related
disciplines. Scholarships are awarded
at ITSMF’s Technology Achievement
Awards Ceremony, typically held in the
1st Quarter of each year.
This is an achievement-based schol-
arship awarded to students who have
completed a minimum of 30 credit
hours. Students are recognized for
their academics, aptitude to lead and
serve, and their commitment to further
their education. Five (5) $1,000 schol-
arships will be awarded in honor of five
(5) ITSMF Fellows and one (1) $5,000
scholarship in honor of ITSMF’s Chair
Emeritus, Carl Williams.
Eligible candidates must have:
•	 A minimum of 30 credit hours at an accredited university; must have a
declared major or course of study in Science, Technology, Engineering
and/or Mathematics
•	 A U.S. Citizen/National/ Permanent Resident
•	 Cumulative 3.2 GPA
Note: Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible
DETAILS
Applicants are required to submit responses for two (2) of the questions
below. Each response should not exceed 500 words.
•	 Question 1:	What would your platform be to increase the number of
minorities and women in the technology industry?
•	 Question 2:	How would you describe the future 20 years from now?
And how do you see yourself as a change agent in that
time and space?
•	 Question 3:	How would you change how technology companies hire
diverse talent to create a diverse workplace?

is that by 2020, ITSMF will graduate
500 professionals through a series
of rich, developmental and career-ad-
vancing programs, and do so by being
a second family to its members and
partners.

AWARDS
Apply online between August 1st and November 15th. Application and ALL
supporting documents must be submitted by November 15th. Partial entries

Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendations. Letters
of recommendations cannot come from immediate family members. They
should include the following:
•	 Length of time and capacity in which the reference has known the
applicant
•	 Applicant’s demonstrated leadership abilities and potential
•	 Why the reference believes the applicant deserves this scholarship
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
An impartial selection committee is responsible for ranking and selecting
the recipients. Applicants are judged on their high level of academic
achievement, essays, leadership and commitment to the STEM industry.
Awardees are notified of the scholarship results in December.
