BDPA Triangle Chapter
SITES Saturday Technology
Academy kicked off on 3/5/16
at ECPI University Campus in
Raleigh, NC.
Students attended classes
for 12 weeks from 9am - 1pm.
IT professionals volunteered,
and lead the comprehensive
program to provide 20 students
with the Internet technology
skills to solve essential business
problems in a global economy.
SITES students also competed
in the South Regional HSCC
held in Cary, NC; and the
National HSCC in Atlanta, GA.

SITES Keynote Speaker
Monica Cutno, Founder/President
Envision Science Academy
Students presented final projects, shared reflections
and received inspiration from IT Executives during
the SITES Academy Closing Ceremony held on Sat,
July 9, 2016.
Monica Cutno, Founder and President at Envision
Science Academy served as the SITES Closing
Ceremony keynote speaker.
Ms. Cutno is a Chemical Engineer who has worked
in the chemical and financial services industries
doing sales, marketing, business management,
consulting and corporate finance. She has worked
in Bangkok, Thailand and in the United States.
She is President and Co-Founder of Envision Science
Academy, a public charter school in Raleigh, NC
enrolling students from 8 different counties in NC.
BDPATC students gained valuable knowledge and
learned useful success tips from a global IT leader.

Opening Ceremony, workshops,
networking events, and Awards Gala
during the National BDPA Conference
2016 held Aug 10-16 in Atlanta, GA.
• Students were inspired by keynote
and other speakers during the
Opening Ceremony; toured the
Corporate IT Operations Center at
Chick-Fil-A, and visited the Georgia
Aquarium. Students also networked
with peers, IT executives and leaders
in public & private sectors throughout
the nation, as well as, learned about
new innovations & technologies.

National High School Computer Competition (HSCC) consist of four components:
Competition Deliverables
-- Students have 8 hours to develop a web
application per specifications
-- Working relational database back-end)
-- Solve a business problem.
-- No outside assistance or advance notice
of business problem permitted.
Components
1. Problem Solving w/ Presentation -
(eg, Build website for college students to order laptops & accessories.)
2. Oral Exam - (eg, Computer Security, Technology Acronyms)
3. Written Exam - (eg, Computer History & Binary)
4. Programming - (eg, Java, ASP, PHP, .Net) in-conjunction w/ database (eg, MySQL)

Since our program inception in 2009,
BDPA Triangle SITES has maintained a
100% graduation rate with all students
completing the program now enrolled in
college majoring in Computer Science,
Engineering, or other STEM disciplines.
Students attend colleges & universities
w/ scholarships at schools such as:
