This document provides an update from a project meeting focused on innovative and technology enhanced learning in European adult education. It discusses two case studies: 1) The T-Exchange Makerspace which uses technology as a focus for experiential and collaborative learning and 2) The Glasgow East Learning Network which provides access to online resources and support for skills development to address a lack of basic skills. It also reflects on compiling the project's compendium of case studies and how examples of good technology enhanced learning practices in schools and higher education could be applied to adult education with priority groups.

"The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed the landscape of higher education. Over a short period of time, courses have moved online with students being required to adapt to new ways of learning.
Although many tools have been used to enhance the student learning experience, many researchers have long advocated a more holistic, personal, and integrative approach. As eloquently presented by Jenson and Treuer (2014), learning should be put in a much broader context where courses, co-curricular activities, internships, work, and personal experiences, contribute to what are called 20th century lifelong learning skills (collecting, self-regulating, reflecting, integrating, and collaborating).
The Pandemic ePortfolio is an illustration of this more integrative approach using Karuta 3.0, a simple and flexible open source ePortfolio tool supported by the Apereo Foundation. See how a simple yet powerful workflow has been designed to help students make sense of this difficult period.

8 BENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGY IN CURRENT AND FUTURE EDUCATION.pptxnavabharathschool99
Technology in current education has become a pillar for continuity and excellence in the holistic training of different generations. Its importance became more visible as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic and today many are already noticing its benefits. This time we will tell you more about the role that technology plays in the educational framework and its main benefits. The role of technology in education today and in the future. Technology in current education has become a facilitator of changes, especially those promoted by the health situation. With your contribution, we can not only develop distance learning, but we are competently preparing new generations to take on the challenges of the present and the future.

A keynote presentation for the Online Teaching Pathways for Early-Career Criminologists & Sociologists
by University of Glasgow, Hong Kong University, U21.
Abstract: We have all had to pivot rapidly from teaching face-to face to teaching fully online and have learned many lessons along the way, in a particularly short space of time. In many cases, if our IT groups and vendors had not equally risen to the occasion this would not have been possible. However, what has been observed is that those who have fared better over these recent months have been those institutions with well-established frameworks in place to mediate their technology-enhanced learning (TEL). That is, they have recognised processes that define how they translate what is in policy, procedures and planning into practice with appropriate IT scaffolding. Such a framework can be found within a number of TEL quality tools, that are designed to provide an institution with clear guidelines as to what things need to be in place to facilitate a robust and consistent approach to teaching with technology. Once these things are in place it makes it possible to undertake online teaching that does more than just mimic face-to-face practice, but actually provide a the foundation for innovative pedagogies to thrive. One concept associated with this is the notion that students can be productive and typically, this means the TEL has, or can become far more, active, authentic and collaborative.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

ITELEAD 4th Project Meeting Suceava Romania 2014
1. Innovative and Technology Enhanced Learning
in European Adult Education
Update from The University of Glasgow
Fourth Project Meeting
Suceava, Romania
6th
– 8th
May20134
2. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Our Objectives
• Advising on the research and methodology for the project;
• Contributing to the theoretical and conceptual discussion that is
emerging from our own and / or partners' examples and work
during the project;
• Working with our Grundtvig partners to develop the criteria for the
case studies to be used in our compendium;
• Producing the draft template for case study descriptions for
discussion with our partners;
• Production of two case studies.
3. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Case Study 1 – The T-Exchange (Makerspace Learning)
• Learning by doing / experiential and as a group on joint projects
using technology as a focus;
• Sharing of knowledge and experience;
• Learning styles suited to the individual;
• Supportive and informal learning environment;
• Collaborative learning;
• Easy access to others with different range of knowledge and skills.
4. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Case Study 2 – Glasgow East Learning Network
• The network is a regeneration project and is for every one to use -
to learn, to develop skills and to find information e.g. internet and
email services;
• Support for ICT and literacy skills development;
• To provide high quality community-based access to on-line and
other learning resources, which will enable young people and
adults to participate in lifelong learning;
• To address serious local issues related to the lack of basic skills (in
literacy, numeracy and information and communication technology
skills) and low-levels of certification and achievement.
5. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Compiling the Compendium
Thinking about compiling the compendium and what the case
studies tells us about our ITELEAD objectives and questions.
•TEL is far more evident in compulsory / school and Higher
Education;
•Some of the pedagogy is far behind the potential offered by the
technology. E.g. it is often used in a passive way, using
traditional didactic approaches rather than allowing learners to
creatively access and participate in the design of their learning.
6. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Compiling the Compendium
However, there are examples of technology helping learners to
participate and learn more effectively:
•Promoting access to types of courses and learning that would
otherwise be unavailable to groups, e.g. offenders, rural or remote
learners - e-inclusion;
•Allowing flexibility to learn at a place, time and pace that suits the
learner, therefore, helping to increase access and success;
•On-line Moodle style courses;
•Delivering blended learning content and assessment that is suited to
learners' needs.
•
7. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Some thoughts…
These factors can also promote learner motivation (see Rahela, Peter
and Kevin's conference papers).
One of our ideas is that examples of TEL good practice in school
education and HE can be appropriated for use in adult education with
priority groups.
8. HousekeepingTechnologies – where are we now?Reflection and Questions
