JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary purpose:
The IT Telecommunications Technician is responsible for supporting Tallgrass field network and telecommunication infrastructure
production,and troubleshooting ITsystem issues.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
 Responsibilities include the supportofall production and developments ystems,troubleshooting and resolution ofnetwork and
telecommunications issues.
 Responsible for installation,troubleshooting,and maintenance ofnetwork and telecommunications equipmentatvarious locations.
Telecom equipmentincludes and maynot be limited to: 3G/4G modems,Industrial Wireless Systems,SCADA Communication
Systems,Office Phone Systems,Digital Multiplex, Office Networks (LAN/WAN), VHF Radio Systems,and associated equipment.
 Monitor and maintain the integrity of Tallgrass’ telecommunications network (including butnotlimited to Frame-Relay,VSat, DSL,PL,
3G/4G modems).
 Supportproduction,developmentand troubleshootIT Systems and ensure the stabilityand integrity of Tallgrass’ data,especiallyin
VOIP (Voice over IP), IP video, wireless data services, networking, and telecommunications systems.
 Perform system software upgrades,install service packs and patches as needed.
 Ability to delve into and achieve understanding ofa problem or requestin order to offer the mostappropriate possible solution.
 Configure,modifyand repair computer hardware including monitors,keyboard and printers
 Implementand maintain system managementand monitoring tools.
 Develop and follow all system change control procedures.
 Share after hours supportwith others in the group and/or the IT Operations group including escalations.
 Regularlywork under deadlines.
 Utilize software and hardware tools (including butnotlimited to SolarWinds,Cisco,Juniper) to identify, diagnose and drive resolution
of problems and factors affecting network integrity.
 Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
 Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone,using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
 Maintain a regular,dependable attendance and a consistentlyhigh level of performance.
 Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
 Maintain a high regard for personal safety,for the safety of companyassets and employees,and the general public.
 Other daily, weekly, monthlyor special projectduties as identified and defined.
 Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirements:
Education:
 (Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science,Information Systems,Business Management,o r a
related discipline.
 A minimum of three (3) years direct work experience in IT or a related discipline maybe considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
 Minimum ofthree (3) years overall IT infrastructure experience.
 Must be customer service oriented.
 Analytical thinker able to utilize functional understanding ofthe various components ofsystems in conjunction with technical
knowledge to identify effective and efficient problem resolutions.
 Excellent organizational,time managementand communication skills;mustcommunicate effectively with all le vels of company

personnel.
 Ability to work well both individuallywith minimal supervision and in a team environmentwhere the sharing ofknowledge is h ighly
regarded and expected.
 Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
 Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilityto communicate systems requirements verballyand in writing.
 Experience in effectively communicating business and technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
 Experience in working on multiple assignments during the same time frame juggling tasks based on relative priorities with supervision
commensurate with grade level.
 Use time effectively and efficiently.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
 Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactoryto the company and its insurers .
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
 Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions ofthe job.
 Must be able to work with a team,take direction from management,adhere to required work schedules,focus attention to details,and
follow work rules.
 Ability to successfullyperform multiple tasks with strictdeadlines.
 Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
Physical Demands:
All of the physical requirements listed below are those thatmay be necessaryfor an employee to successfullyperform the essential

 Sitting; standing;walking or moving throughoutfacility; driving; talking; seeing (specific vision abilities required bythis job include
close vision,distance vision,color vision,peripheral vision,depth perception and abilityto adjustfocus);hearing;feeli ng;bending or
stooping;squatting or crouching;reaching;kneeling;pushing;pulling;lifting up to 25 lbs.
 IT Telecommunications Technician routinelywork under adverse weather condition and at times in Class 1 Div. 1 and Div. 2 areas.
 Must be able to sit for prolonged periods oftime.
 The employee is regularlyrequired to use hands to type, touch, handle,or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The
employee is frequentlyrequired to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionallyrequired to walk and c limb or
balance. The employee mustregularlylift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionallylift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
 Climb a fixed ladder no greater than 20’ with the use of proper PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment) i.e., fall protection is required to
climb and work. If a portable ladder is used,fall protection is not required to climb,butwould be required if installing equipmentonce
climbing to the top.
Working Conditions:
 Travel as needed up to 75%.
 Travel is required to maintain sites.
 Non-traditional hours anticipated.
 Required to carry an activated cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
 The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check,including creditreportfor certain
positions,after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
 None.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Above the minimum requirements;notrequired butadvantageous in this position:
 Previous experience with networking and telecommunication equipment a plus.
