JOB TITLE: Technology Intern STATUS: Nonexempt / At-will
REPORTS TO: IT Project Manager TERMS: Hourly / Part-time
DEPARTMENT: Technology PAY GRADE: Hourly
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist technology department staff members in their duties. This includes but not limited to PC
deployment, helpdesk, district inventory. Assist users with computer hardware and software problems and
questions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Enrolled in high school, community college or undergraduate program at an university
Well-developed understanding of and experience in the use of PC hardware and software
Experience with computer repair (preferred)
Ability to analyze problems and select corrective action
Ability to organize tasks and work independently
Good manual dexterity
Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written)
Highly self-motivated and directed
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Exceptional customer service orientation
Such additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate
and acceptable
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Prolonged use of computer; repetitive hand motions. Lifting and
moving of heavy equipment; stooping, bending and kneeling.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Supporting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software an application software
when necessary
2. Properly install new computers, verify they can log in and access the network and then uninstall and
remove the old equipment.
3. Inform supervisor of any technology issues that arise on the job.
4. Help with district wide inventory when needed.
5. Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
6. Exceptional customer service orientation.
7. Maintain confidentiality of information
8. Perform all duties assigned by the Technology Department or the building principal.
9. Meet regular and predictable attendance requirements.
10. Observe all safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly at all times.
11. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local
board policy.

EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation
of auxiliary personnel.
