This document discusses how social media is negatively impacting people's quality of life in three ways: 1) by making people antisocial offline as they are constantly online, 2) by exposing people to curated highlights of others' lives which increases feelings of envy and unhappiness, and 3) by causing distraction from the present moment as people feel compelled to check their devices frequently. The document argues that these effects are leading to lower quality social interactions, impaired well-being, and an inability to fully experience life offline in the real world.
