According to industry analysts, in less than five years it is anticipated that over 26 billion Internet of Things objects will be deployed -- over 3.7 times the number of personal computing devices predicted by 2020. Will your network be ready?
BYOD -- The rapid proliferation of mobile devices and use of multimedia services among employees has led to new challenges for enterprises and IT managers. In addition, multiple operating systems, adoption of cloud, and dynamic network demand is overwhelming the capabilities of separate stand-alone IT tools and systems. What’s happening? Many enterprise networks have not kept pace with the need to deliver secure and dynamic services to user communities.
Unified Access promises to be the Holy Grail to simplify the use and management of such services. As companies deal with employees using their own devices in the workplace, Alcatel-Lucent offers flexible application fluent network services via its Enterprise Unified Access strategy for enterprise mobility and multimedia use by employees and customers.

Innovation and the Internet of Things - Emeka Nwafor (Wind River Systems)IoT613
INNOVATION AND THE INTERNET OF THINGS
IoT is shaping up to be one of the most disruptive and transformative industrial technology events in history. Analysts predict that by 2020, the data coming from tens of billions of devices will drive trillions of dollars in to the economy from new business models that make cities smarter, factories more efficient, and improve society’s overall quality of life. In this session we will take a look at how operational analytics, security concerns, and the user experience are impacting innovation around the Internet of Things.
ABOUT EMEKA
Emeka is the Senior Director for Global Alliances at Wind River, an independent subsidiary of Intel Corp. Emeka is responsible for managing Wind River’s global ecosystem of software partners, aligning them with Wind River’s go-to-market strategy for the Internet of Things and the Wind Helix product portfolio. Emeka has over 20 years of experience developing complex embedded systems and developing tools to support the development of complex embedded systems. A graduate of McGill University, Emeka enjoys cycling, running, playing tennis, jazz, travel, good food, and cheering on his daughters during their soccer matches.

Gartner predicted that 2016 would be a defining year for cloud as private cloud begins to give way to hybrid cloud, and nearly half of large enterprises will have hybrid cloud deployments by the end of 2017.
As we arrive at the halfway mark of 2016, we decided to conduct a survey of cloud users to get their thoughts on the state of the market and to find out what trends they are most interested in. Here’s are the results of that survey.
Strong Security Elements for IoT Manufacturing GlobalSign
GlobalSign’s Vice President of IoT Identity Solutions, Lancen LaChance, presented a session on Strong Security Elements for IoT Manufacturing at the Internet of Things Expo in New York.
Lancen will run through some ideas and perspectives around incorporating strong information security elements into your IoT devices during the manufacturing process. Within this context we'll look at how we are examining the risks associated with IoT Products, Then we'll discuss some of the approaches for implementing these technologies in the manufacturing cycle. And finally we'll cover some example IoT use cases which are well aligned with the application of these technologies
As we look at the evolving IoT space, one bet we're willing to make is that the privacy and security of IoT products will continue to become more distinguishing features and differentiators. In this vein, Lancen address' how products can be built to achieve these goals through security by design, leveraging past technology successes, as well as the nuances and requirements of implementing within the manufacturing process
If you didn’t get a chance to make it to the conference and see Lancen live, we wanted to share the recorded presentation with you.

Meeting the challenges of a world gone mobile means more than just using some hardware to create WiFi connectivity. Businesses and organizations are faced with supporting mobile apps, ever evolving WiFi standards, design and performance and growth of device types supported. Abilene Christian University launched a one-to-one mobile learning initiative in 2008 and has been on the forefront of integrating mobile technology ever since. Today, with over 900 access points that cover 7.1 million square feet, the University accepts an average of 250,000 connections a day. Over the last six years, ACU has seen its fair share of challenges supporting a dynamic mobile environment and learned many lessons along the way.
Arthur Brant, director of Enterprise Infrastructure, Abilene Christian University shares the mobile challenges and successes he’s had at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. This presentation was shared with exhibit attendees at Interop Las Vegas 2015.

The Internet of Things (IoT) hacking is the hacking of IoT devices. IoT is a network of devices embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies to connect and exchange data and information with other devices and systems over the Internet. It primarily refers to the fast-expanding network of linked devices that use embedded sensors to collect and exchange data in real-time. Although IoT hacking is a relatively new phenomenon, it has already shown a vast capacity for destruction in a relatively short period.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

YouTube every minute – has yet seen.
