Essay on Agriculture in India
Agriculture
Agriculture, also called farming or husbandry, is the cultivation of animals, plants, fungi, and other
life forms for food, fiber, biofuel and other products used to sustain human life.
Agriculture in India has a significant history. Today, India ranks second worldwide in farm output.
Agriculture and allied sectors like forestry andfisheries accounted for 16.6% of the GDP in 2009,
about 50% of the total workforce.[1] The economic contribution of agriculture to India s GDP is
steadily declining with the country s broad based economic growth. Still, agriculture is
demographically the broadest economic sector and plays a significant role in the overall socio
economic fabric of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indian population has tripled, but food grain production more than quadrupled: there has thus been
substantial increase in available food grain per capita.
Prior to the mid 1960s India relied on imports and food aid to meet domestic requirements.
However, two years of severe drought in 1965 and 1966 convinced India to reform its agricultural
policy, and that India could not rely on foreign aid and foreign imports for food security. India
adopted significant policy reforms focused on the goal of foodgrain self sufficiency. This ushered in
India sGreen Revolution. It began with the decision to adopt superior yielding, disease resistant
wheat varieties in combination with better farming knowledge to improve productivity. The Indian
state ofPunjab led India s green revolution and earned itself the distinction of being the country s
bread basket.[41]
The initial increase in production was centred on the irrigated areas of the Indian states of Punjab,
Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. With both the farmers and the government officials focusing
on farm productivity and knowledge transfer, India s total foodgrain production soared. A hectare
of Indian wheat farms that produced an average of 0.8 tons in 1948, produced 4.7 tons of wheat
in 1975 from the same land. Such rapid growths in farm productivity enabled India to become self
sufficient by the 1970s. It also empowered the smallholder farmers to seek further means to
increase food staples

Examples Of Prejudice In Billy Elliot
Prejudice is a kind of mindset that will lead to criticizing others who did not follow this mindset.
A child that live surrounded by a society full of prejudice will definitely affect his/her views to
the world. In the film Billy Elliot by Stephen Daldry , Billy the son of a coal miner who comes
from a poor family lives in an oppressive environment that full with prejudice. It affects Billy a lot
from pursuing his dreams to be a balletdancer and put him through a hard time even though he is
so passionate about ballet. This environment had an enormous impact on Billy as he is being stop

It makes harder and tougher for Billy to develop his identity , potential and dream due to the
acceptance for the middle class to accept someone from working class like Billy to become a
professional ballet dancer. Debby, Mrs.Wilkinson s daughter did not tell Mrs.Wilkinson that
Billy had called to inform that he cannot go for the Royal Ballet School audition due to Tony s
court day. She is envious and thinks that Billy s status is too low to join the school. The librarian
also have the perception on class status as the tone she used to reject Billy when Billy is trying to
borrow a book which not valid for a junior ticket is not polite and contempt.
In a nutshell, it is obviously seen that Billy s perspective is influence by the prejudices around
him which had caused him think negatively because he is oppressed by gender stereotype, class
divisions and the strike. But at the end, his love of dance and determination and perseverance
help him break free from oppressors and change his family and community minds thus decide to
help him to achieve his dream. Finally, the effect from the prejudice is overcome as Billy get the
supports from his family, his community and Mrs. Wilkinson who never lets Billy give up and he

Leitax Case Analysis
LEITAX CASE ANALYSIS:
QUESTION 1
Digital camera market has enjoyed tremendous growth since it was introduced in the photographic
industry. Starting in 1998, price has been falling rapidly. In addition, the development of CMOS
allowed digital camera to not only capture professional market, but also enter consumer market. It
was estimated that in 2006 forecast would peak with 63% penetration rate for digital cameras in
the US. After 2006, the growth rate was expected to fall negative.
Product lives for digital cameras had been shortened. While an average life was between 17 and 22

Before, the concept of demand forecast was to serve the key functional groups in achieving their
own interest. Facing the new challenges, forecast needed to be more accurate. And therefore it
needed a new concept that is to have a consensus forecasting that would accurately reveal market
demand and align the needs of key actors in the forecasting process. Leitax implemented two
specific changes in forecasting process. The first one is to switch the focus from sell in to sell
through and second one is to ignore capacity constraints.
QUESTION 3
The mission of the Forecast Re Design Team was to reduce expenses and risks associated with
production and costs of procurement, inventory, quality control and technical infrastructure.
According to Fowler, there were four objectives: (1), to reduce inventory levels across the supply
chain; (2) to increase velocity and accuracy of planning information throughout the supply chain;
(3) to increase supply upside and downside flexibility; and (4) to improve on time performance to
customers.
The projects require individuals who have good technical skills and forecasting and industry
knowledge. But more importantly, it needs people who could help implement the new changes. To

forest that gets about 200 inches of rainfall a year and is surrounded by many rivers. These
natural boundaries all help in making Huis Gratis a great civilization for the West Africans to
start their lives here. In addition, Huis Gratis is filled with dangerous animals, such as snakes,
spiders, and howler monkeys. Even though these animals are aggressive and pose a threat to the

Endangered Species Persuasive Essay
Persuasive Speech
Back in 2014, Corey Knowlton was the target of countless death threats and criticism. The cause
for all of it was his accidental purchase of a hunting permit. He had paid $350,000 at an auction
for a hunting trip to Namibia to kill an endangered species which caused a lot of backlash. The
endangered species was the black rhino. Most people seen this as a harmful move for the black
rhino species but what most people fail to realize is that it is in fact an effort to help improve and
preserve the conservations of these animals.
The amount of money that is raised for these conservations is extremely large. Over $11 million
dollars has been raised to help the Namibian economy and conservations in Namibia. In addition,

Based on these observations taken, total magnification increases as both the objective and eyepiece

While placed on the slide of the microscope, the letter e is right side up. When viewed through the

When observing an ant through a microscope, the movements are opposite to what is observed not

Las Vegas Movie Analysis
Before watching this movie, I thought Las Vegas is a place that shapes many people s life and
decides their destinies. And the only determine factor of winning money is luck. For example,
when two people bring the same amount of money to Las Vegas, one of them may become a
millionaire and another person may lose everything during one night. However, after watching this
movie, my impression to statistics has totally changed. It seems that people can use statistics to help
gain the greatest advantages in many circumstances. Also, I saw the dark side in human nature.
Teacher Mickey is a main character in the movie. He is a greedy, ambitious person who uses his
students to earn money. Obviously, he is not a qualified teacher. Therefore, I think society should
pay more attention to select teacher, because teacher can directly influence the next generation.
In this movie, the main character Ben is a college student who is good at math. He receives Harford

Summary Of One Child By Torey Hayden
One Child, is a beautifully compelling story about a teacher who was given a student that was
misled and overlooked for far too long. This student was Sheila and before Torey Hayden had
Sheila, she had moved home to home between different relatives. The school where Torey
Hayden taught wasn t too sure that they would be able to find Sheila a home and she would soon
be sent to a state hospital. During the time that Torey and Sheila had together, Sheila began
developing into a pleasant and prosperous child that loved to learn and was very intelligent. Also,
at this time Sheila grew closer to her classmates and began to have bonded with others. Torey
Hayden stated, I taught what was affectionately referred to in our schooldistrict as the garbage
class. She was given little to work with but was expected to do her job just like every teacher in
school. This doubt and negative attitude towards her passion could be discouraging, yet she knew
what her end goal was. The end goal being; to be strong and show passion for teaching these

with other children just like her and made her feel more welcome to this new environment. Once
Torey Hayden was able to achieve this step she moved towards exposing more academic skills to
Sheila. The teacher soon discovered that this little girl was exceptionally intelligent and was past
all of her other students academically. Even though she was only six years old, Sheila could

The Seven Principles Of Making Marriage Work
The purpose of this paper is to explore the two primary relationships focused on in Knocked Up
(Apatow, Apatow, Robertson and Townsend, (2007), by using Gottman and Silver s (2015), The
Seven principles of Making Marriage Work, as a foundation for analysis. The exploration will
entail using some of Gottman and Silver s principles as a method of understanding Alison and Ben
s relationship, as well as Debbie and Pete s. Sine Gottman and Silver s book will be used as a
foundation, this will provide greater elaboration upon the strengths and weaknesses of each couple
s relationship. Although Knocked Upby Apatow et al. (2007) is fictional, many of the depicted
problems exist in actual relationships. Nevertheless, studying these issues will lead to a better
understanding of how to address these problems if encountered in the future. At first, the couples
have two very different relationships. Alison and Ben have been in a sense forced together, after
a one night stand leads to an unplanned pregnancy (Apatow et al., 2007). While on the other
hand, Debbie and Pete have been married for ten years with two children (Apatow et al., 2007).
So there is this new relationship that started rather unexpectedly, compared to the other
relationship, which has been forming for 10 years. So the couples are in different stages, but are
facing some of the same issues. Fairly early on, it is revealed that Debbie and Pete got married
after Debbie became pregnant with their first child (Apatow et

The Discussion of The Making and Unmaking of a Child Soldier by Ishmael Beah
The story The Making and Unmaking of a Child Solider is an insightful look into the life of a
child drawn into the horror of war, yet still managing to survive. Throughout the story you see
several examples of how a child evolves in spite of adversity and violence. At 12 years old children
should be playing sports and living fun, healthy lives. This is opposite of Beah s childhood
experience. It is difficult for one to imagine the fear that would cripple a child when war is brought

Almost as if he didn t want to be saved from his life. Could he possibly not know a better life

is particularly chilling we needed the violence to cheer us (Beah 274). It is heartbreaking that a
child could be so damaged. When going through withdrawals, Beah was defiant and rebellious.
That is typical behavior of any child. It appears that even though Beah was taught to be a violent
killer, he was still just a boy. It is intriguing that he experienced very little fear or any other
emotion when killing; however, he was terrified in his dreams. Maybe, this is to detach himself

The Role Of Self Identity For Adolescents
The life transitions are the major changes that occur throughout individual s lifespan. Adolescence
is often classified as one of the most challenging and significant stage during life transition. In this
phrase, the individuals not only developing physical and sexual maturation but also experiencing
the development of identityand transitions into social and economic independence (WHO, 2014).
This essay will discuss the different concept of self identity for adolescents, the important
predictable and unpredictable elements during the transition, as well as the nurses role in relation to

According to Erikson s theory, as the individual transits into adolescence, he or she begins to
express the high interest in understanding and trying to make sense of the self and its qualities.
This process includes self awareness, self conscious and self examination ( Brinthaupt Lipka,
2012). Porfeli, Lee Vondracek (2013) believed that in the early to middle adolescence, the
individuals are struggling to identify the balance between developing a unique individual identity
while still being accept by the general society. Therefore, it explains the reason why individual may
develop high consciousness towards to criticism in social environment. Simultaneously, Hoffnung,

The Absence Of Sound In Danny Boyle s Shallow Grave
Just how important is sound to a film, is it more or less important than the actual visuals going on
in a scene, or does its importance vary from scene to scene? Could sound make a scene great, but
completely ruin another scene with the same kind of style? How does sound make us feel, or think
differently as opposed to not having it. Just how powerful is the absence of soundeven, the absence
of a key element that is used in almost every movie being taken away abruptly can make viewers

what makes sound so powerful? In Danny Boyle s Shallow Grave Sound, and the absence of it, is

Romeo And Juliet Reading Analysis
Introduction: How d He Do That? Recognizing patterns can make reading easier by helping me
comprehend what it is that I am reading. Memory. Symbol. Pattern. These are the three items
that, more than any other, separate the professional reader from the rest of the crowd. (Foster
xxvii). When I recognize the patterns that the author used when writing, I am able to better
understand the structure of the chapter, the plot of the story, the point of view of all the
characters and the language used. A time when my appreciation for a literary work was
enhanced by my understanding of a symbol or pattern was when I was reading Shakespeare s
Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare wrote in iambic pentameter whenever a character of a higher
class spoke. It was easier to understand and keep track of who is who when I understand if what
I was reading had a meter or not. It made it easier to decipher whether the prince was talking or a
servant was. Also, recognizing the pattern of Romeo and Juliet finishing each other s sentences
in iambic pentameter made reading that great play a bit easier for me to understand. Chapter 1:
Every Trip Is a Quest (Except When It s Not) The 5 aspects of the QUEST are (a) a quester, (b) a
place to go, (c) a stated reason to go, (d) challenges and trials en route, (e) a real reason to go there.
Item (a) is easy: a quester is just a person who goes on a quest. Item (b) and (c) should be
considered together: someone tells our protagonist to go somewhere and do

Descriptive Essay On Breakfast
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP My hand absentmindedly hit the nightstand
repetitively in attempt to snooze the alarm clock. After at least twenty more BEEP s, I decided
to put forth a little more effort than usual and rolled over so I could actually see what I was
doing. To my dismay, I miscalculated my distance from the edge and my idea did not go as
planned. To say the least, I immediately began considering carpeting the bedroom floor. I
sleepily made my way to the kitchen, using precautionary methods to avoid any mirrors this
early in the morning. The moment I stepped through the door I was met with the best surprise a
girl could have. Waffles! I said to my suddenly wide awake self. I could hear my mothers
laughter at my reaction from the next room over. There s nothing funny about hunger, Mummy!
I shouted in response. There is when we re talking about your bottomless pit of a stomach, she
said as she made her way back into the kitchen to join me for breakfast. As I piled my plate four
syrup soaked waffles high, she only picked one to pair with her sugar free syrup. She always was
unnecessarily concerned about her weight. We shortly sat with only the sound of our forks against
our plates, but that was short lived. So what s the plan for today? I asked her. Without waiting for a
response I continued my list of questions. Do you want to go shopping? Are there any good movies
out? Oh, didn t you want to try that new restaurant that

Laura Motes And Animal Welfare
Laura Motes Tells Us the Ways Anyone Can Help Promote Animal Welfare According to former
police officer and animal lover Laura Motes, there are many simple ways that everyday people
can assist with animal welfare and rescue issues. She knows that you don t have to give a ton of
money to a shelter to make a difference. The little things add up to make a big impact. Most of
Laura s tips involve community involvement and education, like scheduling a local animal rescue
speaker to meet with and talk to your local church or business group. She has also found that by
placing a small donation cup on her desk or in the break room of her office, she receives small
donations that add up quickly. She then takes that money to the local rescue leagues in... Show more

The 4 Items You Need to Trail Run with Laura Motes Laura Motes will happily run on any
surface and in any environment, but trail running is one of her favorites. This sport, which
involves running through wilderness trails, is beautifully simple. It does not take much planning
or equipment, and many people find trail running to be the most enjoyable form of running.
According to Motes, there are certain considerations that need to be acknowledged when
preparing for a trail running trip. As the runner will be moving over natural trails and different
terrains, they will not need the same gear or equipment as a person running on a track or on the
roadways. Shoes are a very crucial item for any runner, especially a trail runner. Laura says that
you should wear a pair of true trail shoes. These provide a thicker sole than standard running shoes,
which is ideal for uneven ground and sharp rocks. Clothing is relatively universal between trail
running and road running. The only point Laura likes to make is that you are likely to get dirtier

Aphasia Vocabulary
According to sources, Aphasia is described as a communication disorder that usually affects the use
of acquired spoken or written language (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). Patients that have been diagnosed
with aphasia in general usually have difficulties with auditory understanding, reading
comprehension, written language difficulties and of course difficulty in spoken language
expression (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). One of the most essential areas that patients with aphasiawant
to see improvements in is the ability to have functional spoken communication (Mayer, 2003). It is
vital that clinicians focus on the needs of the patient by introducing the patient to different therapy
techniques that will benefit them outside of the treatment environment... Show more content on

A topic of discussion researchers and studies have investigated proves that patients that are
categorized under fluent aphasia are patients that display difficulty with using their thoughts to
formulate language that is understood (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). With that being said individuals
with fluent aphasia usually produce speech that is normal in terms of length, articulation and do
not require much effort to state verbally (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). While that may be simple for
patients diagnosed with fluent aphasia, communicating thoughts for listeners to understand is
much more difficult (Raymer Kohen, 2003). Individuals that have anomic aphasia are well aware
of mistakes made and are usually not successful when trying to correct their errors (Halpern
Goldfarb, 2013). When errors are not successfully repaired these individuals become discouraged
(Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). The idea of spoken language becomes much more difficult for these
individuals because, these individuals know what exactly it is they want to produce but, their
diagnoses makes it very difficult to do so (Halpern Goldfarb,

Social Functionalism
Functionalism was the prevailing branch of western Human science until the 1960s since when it
has been progressively reprimanded by sociologists favoring distinctive sociological points of
view. Functionalists contend that social orders comprise of between related social foundations,
for example, schools, broad communications, political frameworks, the Congregation and the
family each of which contribute emphatically to the support of soundness of society in general.
That is: these establishments are said to be useful for social orders all in all. Extensively talking
it is accepted by functionalists that social orders work in light of a legitimate concern for the
greater part of their individuals with the goal that there is no purpose behind key clash in the
public eye. Rather there is a high level of accord that social orders are composed proficiently and
moderately decently. The primary Functionalist scholars of the family are G P Murdock and Talcott
Parsons. Murdock contended on the premise of his studies that the atomic family was an all
inclusive social establishment and that it existed generally in light of the fact that it satisfied four
essential capacities for society : the sexual, conceptive, monetary and instruction capacities. Other

business that sells signs, stickers, banners, and other printing goods. NBFP s main services are
offered through two online websites. National Business Forms Printing sold to affiliated and
nonaffiliated customers, using several logos of known car dealerships. One of those dealerships

and as a result sent NBFP a cease and desist letter. In such letter, Ford demanded NBFP to pay
$5000 for damages and to stop commercializing with the Fords Logo. Instead of abiding to Ford s
demand, NBFP decided to sue Ford in a Texas State Court looking for a declaration . Ford, on the
other hand, countersued NBFP in the U.S. District Court of Southern District of Texas. Ford alleged
that NBFP committed trademark infringement, counterfeit of Ford s product (logo), and false

NBFP s advertising material for Ford s associated dealers. Second, advertising material for
independent dealers; third, a custom logo made by NBFP using an oval similar that stated NO BIG

You May Ask Yourself, By Sociologist Dalton Conley
Sociologist Dalton Conley wrote his book, You May Ask Yourself, addressing how gender is a
social construction that is so normal for society to think how a man or woman should act towards
the public. Society often categorizes roles that females and males are suppose to play in, but not
only are they categorized they are also being taught what their genderrole is suppose to do. The
beginning of gender socialization can start with a child who is not born yet by simply having the
parents purchase items that are all pink if its expected to be a girl, but if its expected to be a boy
then everything they purchase will be blue. Conley states that gender roles are sets of behavioral
norms assumed to accompany ones status as male or female(Conley [2008] 2013:134). So even
when a child is growing into their infant years, toys are made specifically for their gender. By
examining how social construction places gender in categories it becomes apparent that males and
females get differentiated a lot which emphasizes inequality between them.
In a near by Walmart I analyzed some of the toys that were on the boy section. Most of the items
that I saw had an influence of violence and/or job related roles that men are usually known to
work in. For instance, the Nerf N Strillee Elite Cross Bolt Blaster, is designed to make boys feel
the experience of having a real crossbow which can be viewed as a violent toy. This item had two

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Autoinjectors
1. Introduction
Mass casualty situations are common with most of the natural disasters like earth quake, tsunami,
flood, avalanche, explosion, accidents, building collapse, military operations and terrorism. Injuries
and wound infections are very common in such disasters that need immediate management;
otherwise it may lead to morbidity and mortality. Medical management is very difficult at that
situation as the access to hospital sector would be either not possible or difficult. Autoinjectors are
very much useful in emergency situations as it can make self administration possible. It can be
used to deliver drug either by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Autoinjector has got many
advantages. It delivers the drug fast and gives better bioavailability as it deliver the drug with a
spray effect during administration. It is convenient and since the needle is inside the vial itself, the
needle phobia can be avoided.

The Russian Civil War started November 1917 October 1922 was a multiple party war in the old
Russian Empire immediately after the Russian Revolutions of 1917. Many groups competed to
determine Russia s political future. The two largest fighting groups were the Red Army , fighting

White Army which included diverse interests favoring monarchism, capitalism and alternative
forms of socialism, each with democratic and antidemocratic variants. In addition, rival militant

More significant was the emergence of an anarchist political and military movement known as the
Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine or the Anarchist Black Army led by Nestor

played a key part in halting Gen. Denekin s White Army offensive towards Moscow during 1919,
later forcing White forces to eject from Crimea.
The remoteness of the Volga Region the Ural Region, Siberia and the Far East was favorable for
the anti Bolshevik forces, and the Whites set up a number of groups or organizations in the cities
of these regions. Some of the military forces were set up on the basis of clandestine officers
organizations in the cities. The Czechoslovak had been part of the Russian army and were around
30,000 troops strong by October 1917.
The Bolsheviks decided to quickly make peace with the Central Powers and the German Empire, as

decision to his sponsorship by the Foreign Office of Wilhelm II German Emperor, offered to

2004 Democratic National Convention Address In this paper, I choose the speech of the previous
President, Barack Obama; Illinois state senator, his speech address to the 2004 Democratic
National Convention marked an important moment in the trajectory of African American rhetoric. I
am really impressive his speech because it was strong to affect to our emotion, our realizations and
our passion for a strong America. The general theme of Barack Obamakeynote address was
America Dream, it a big dream and most of the people in America still keeps and develops it

lot of John s achievements to prove and to persuade that John Kelly should be elected to a
president. I think this speech also belong to the keynote speech, which served as a preface to a
meeting, conference or convention and stress the important of the work to be done by those
assembled. It was America! Tonight, if you feel the same energy that I do, if you feel the same
urgency that I do, if you feel the same passion that I do, if you feel the same hopefulness that I
do if we do what we must do, then I have no doubt that all across the country, from Florida to
Oregon, from Washington to Maine, the people will rise up in November, and John Kerry will
be sworn in as President, and John Edwards will be sworn in as Vice President, and this country
will reclaim its promise, and out of this long political darkness a brighter day will come. I think
that Barack Obama s speech is necessary elements for the ceremonial purpose of the gathering.
The second aspect of social cohesion that will be analyzed in Obama s nomination speech is the
selection of group values and if they are worthy of perpetuation. According to the American
Heritage Dictionary, values are an amount, as of goods, services, or money, considered being a fair

Comparison and Analysis of the Influence the Characters of...
Sexual tension leads to a highly charged, dramatic demise for Blanche and Eddie
The characters of Blanche and Eddie are closely linked by several factors, including the reasons
behind their cantankerous endings in the plays A Streetcar Named Desire and A View from the
Bridge . Williams and Miller characterize Blanche and Eddie through their sexuality, which is a very
important theme in both plays.
Both characters show traces of mental instability; Blanche perhaps more so than Eddie, as
throughout the play there are constant reminders to the audience that Blanche s already feeble
mental state is deteriorating. For example, when Blanche recalls the death of her young husband ,
Tennessee Williams cleverly has the music of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ultimately as they are both strong characters, one of the two has to come out a victor of their
rivalry. Stanley is strong but Blanche successfully establishes a foothold in his house during the
first third of the play and even shames him into acting somewhat sheepishly by the end of scene
one. However, Blanche s ascendancy does not last long and eventually we see Stanley regain his
primitive masculine supremacy. This then progresses towards the end of the play, to complete
lack of respect for Blanche herself, as in scene ten a drunk Stanley rapes her while her sister is in
hospital; an unpleasant victory over a weakened Blanche is the very peak of tension between the
two.
The main tension experienced in A View from the Bridge is due to the great contrast between how
Eddie sees Catherine, and how she sees him. In Eddie s world, he imagines protecting Catherine
from marriage or any male relationship and wants her for himself. While Eddie wavers and
switches between communal and state laws and cultures to discriminate against Rodolpho, his
motivations do not change, regardless of the fact it is often at the expense of others. Throughout the
play, Miller creates uncomfortable situations for the reader/viewer, caused by the emergence of
Eddie s unusual love for Catherine. This is shown in particular in act one, when Catherine

Analysis Of The Great Migration Of 1843
In 1843, farmers from Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio, who were not satisfied by the
future their homes could offer them, decided to leave on a 2000 mile journey to Oregon in hope
of finding better lives . In 1845, a few years after The Great Migration of 1843 , fur trapper and
guide Stephen Meek, mislead a group of emigrants following the Oregon trail from Missouri to
the Willamette Valley, to a shortcut that put many of their lives at stake. Based on this true story,
Kelly Reichardt s Meek s Cutoff (2010) uses its mise en scГЁne, cinematography and other
formal properties to generate meaning about themes represented in this event such as trust,
survival, and women s role in a patriarchal society. The demonstration of this type of society is
shown in the film by the use of the women s point of view, which will be analysed using a simple
chosen excerpt. In the selected scene, the women s muteness and passiveness can be clearly
identified by multiple elements of formal features such as the point of view shot and edit of sound.
One of the most obvious elements supporting this view is the manipulation of the loudness of
sound. In the 9th shot, William, Thomas and Solomon walk towards Stephen as the camera stays
positioned approximately where Emily and Glory are standing, thus creating a mobile long shot of
the men as they are walking away from the women. As the camera adopts, the women s point of
view shot, the sound also adopts their point of audition. The importance

Letter To Birmingham Jail Analysis
Martin Luther King Jr. went to Birmingham not only because he had ties there, but to lead the
fight for freedom. Fighting for the minorities to have freedom meant a lot to Dr. King, not only
does it affect him but if affects the community. He started boycotting the city s segregated public

incarcerated in an Alabama jail he took the time to write back to some clergymen that had
questioned his tactics. In 1963, he wrote a letter to help others, specifically the clergymen, to
understand that the time they are living is rough for the minorities especially black Americans.
He called it a phase and that soon it will work its self out so that everybody will respect one
another and things will be different. Although King knew everybody was against the blacks of the
community and him, he used natural law and getting to know the people that are truly there to help

Federalist No.10’s Faction and Direct Vs. In Direct Democracy
In Federalist No.10, James Madison discusses his theories about faction. In doing this, he
persuades the new Constitution and how it should be enacted. He believed factions were the
number one cause of the failure of the Articles of Confederation. The definition of a faction is a
group of people forming a minority group within a larger group, to seek some goal within a
political party or government. Madison describes faction differently in Federalist No.10, but in
actuality the definitions have the same meaning. Madison s definition is derived from a listing of
requirements. Requirement number one indicates that factions are determined by the number of
citizens. Citizens of a government share a common interest which makes them a... Show more

In doing so, he proposes that the government should regulate the interest of society so faction is
not easily formed. Regulation should be the legislature s principal task in creating a more united
society. Without focus on principal tasks, Madison describes how chaotic the faction can become.
To prevent this, the government should be an empowered body of people, who come together to
make and change laws. No one person should have to the power to judge their own opinions.
Giving a person the power of judging themselves can cause many bias, and therefore being
inactive. There is no cure for faction. Madison explains that the only way to deal with causes of
faction is by controlling its effects. This is where the constitution comes into play, providing
security of the public good and the rights of other citizens. To assure constitution, democracyis
enacted to form a more civilized community governed by the people. The way democracy is
organized is determined by the ideas of being direct or indirect. Direct Democracy is defined by
people as a whole who make direct decisions, rather than having decisions made by other
representatives. In Madison s Federalist No.10 he states, a pure democracy can admit of no cure

Thomas Woodrow Wilson
Thomas Woodrow Wilson Thomas Woodrow Wilson was born in the small town of Staunton,
Virginia on December 29, 1856 or, as other sources say, the 28 of December. He was the third of
four kids with two sisters and one brother. His parents were Joseph Wilson and Jessica Woodrow

Then, two years later the civil war had started and, while the war was going on, his dad had

As Zipcar is operating in only Boston, there are opportunities for new entrants (with sufficient
resources) to establish themselves as dominant carsharing service providers in other cities. This
threat to the profitability of Zipcar s planned future expansion activities would pressure Zipcar to
expand rapidly in order to remain ahead of the competition. A major barrier to entry is Zipcar s
patented technology involving wireless transmission of usage data between the shared cars and a
server. New entrants would require substantial time, human, financial and technological resources in
order to design, build and implement technology to rival Zipcar s patented systems. They would
also need to reach agreements with car manufacturers concerning the supply of vehicles, and secure
parking spaces exclusively for subscribers.
Threat of substitutes:
Major substitutes are taxi, rental car and public transport services. As prices must remain below or
equal to those of aforementioned substitute services, a price ceiling has effectively been imposed
on Zipcar.
4
Bargaining power of suppliers: Suppliers have little bargaining power as consumers are price
sensitive and would face few switching costs in replacing Zipcar with available substitute services.
Bargaining power of buyers:
Buyers have the power to force prices down by threatening to switch from Zipcar to substitute
services.

Stakeholders In Asda
Stakeholders and their importance to a business:

interest of the employees and the shareholders are that the shareholders want Asda to make a

employees only want Asda to succeed as they want to get paid there wage. Therefore there might
be a small conflict between the shareholder and the employee as their views compared to each other

United States of America to be officially recognized by the government. The same year city

the claim. To further his ideas, Kurzweil inserts various rhetorical devices, such as analysis and
assertions/justifications. Lacking any of these strategies leaves the context with no form of
groundwork that potentially allows the substance to deteriorate in approval. Comprehensively,
creating a mindis a vague term that most may not understand right away. Knowing the possibility of
confusion, Kurzweil analyzes every bit and piece of his synopsis through complex analysis. As the
chapter progress so does the complexity of the statements by allowing the... Show more content on

Throughout the text, the word neocortex is brought up a plentiful amount of times. Over time, the
idea of certain items evolves into complex statements that ll potentially be understood by the reader
after they endure the various explanations over a chapter or more. To exemplify this, the term
neocortex first appears in the introduction; where the basic description of its responsibility to deal
with patterns of information(10). Further along, in chapter three, the same term advances into a
labyrinth of connections. Not only does this mass, that consists of eighty percent of the human
brain, influence memory patterns and such, but that it, is a comparable hierarchy of pattern
recognizers processing actual images of objects...and a hierarchy of concepts... and a hierarchy of
thought, (49). What this means is that our memory is prone to a humans main five senses: smell,

Grignard Reaction Lab Report
For this lab, certain actions were performed to facilitate the optimal conditions for the Grignard
reaction to proceed. As mentioned above, forming the Grignard reagent and the Grignard reaction
must take place in dry, anhydrous conditions. This was why the glassware was initially placed in
the oven to evaporate any moisture that was present on the glassware. Additionally, the magnesium
used in the experiment needed to be dry too, so it was also placed in the oven to be heated.
Creating a dry environment was also why the reaction vessel was covered in the septum because it
helped prevent the moisture in the air from entering the reaction. Having water in the reaction
vessel would destroy the Grignard reagent and hinder the Grignard reaction. Because the reaction
needed to be done in dry and anhydrous conditions, diethyl etherwas used as the solventbecause it
was aprotic meaning that the formation of phenylmagnesium bromide and the Grignard reaction
would not be hindered by the protonation of water and alcohols3.
Additionally, creating a dry environment for the reaction tried to reduce the formation of side
products. One possible side product was benzene, which was formed during the protonation of the
carbanion on the benzene ring during the formation of the Grignard reagent4. The carbanion was
very basic meaning that if there was any water in the glassware or moist air in the environment,
some of the carbanion will be protonated by the water creating benzene instead of

The Domination Of Merchants And Land Lawyers Essay
Montejano Reading: The Domination of Merchants and Land Lawyers David Montejano
approaches the incorporation of Texas from the least romantic and colorful perspective of the
merchants and land lawyers , noting that these capital based and export oriented... frontier folk
were the region s principal architects (15). From strategic incorporation of Anglos into Mexican
landed elite to the political exclusion of TexasMexicans, and from the development of commercial
agriculture to driving Mexicans from their land through coercion and fraud, both Anglo merchants
and land lawyers become abrasive actors in the Texan narrative. Driven by manifest destiny and a
superiority complex, Anglos routinely denied Mexicans, who were the original land owners and
inhabitants of the region, economic, political and social rights, eventually leading up to the modern
state of Texas. With the Rio Grandeas an attractive opportunity for trade from Sante Fe and
southward, many attempts to tap into the potential proved unsuccessful including the use of
steamboats. Instead, the lower Rio Grande and the port of Matamoros became a point of much
contention since silver bullion, lead, wool, his and beef tallow were produced in the region. The
attempts to commercialize the Rio Grande peaked during the early 1800s, when, shortly after, two
major US military expeditions ensued in attempts to claim the territory. Nueces Strip, a practically
worthless stretch of land framed by the Rio Grande in the

Should Pluto Be Considered A Planet Essay
Many may urge that Pluto should be considered a planet for it has similar characteristics as the
planets of the Solar System; however, others still believe that Pluto should not be considered a
planet because of its slight differences and conditions that are not matched.
Pluto is recognised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) as a dwarf planet for it doesn t
match the third condition of what defines a planet. IAU proposed three conditions to becoming a
planet. The first condition being: (a) is in orbit around the Sun; the second condition being: (b) has
sufficient mass for its self gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic
equilibrium (nearly round) shape; the third condition, in which Pluto has not met the standards to,
being:(c) has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit. Pluto doesn t meet the standards to the
final condition as Pluto follows the orbit path of some asteroid like objects in space and are
surrounded with these objects. If people were to ignore the third condition and recognise Pluto ...

Reporters with interest in Pluto have published many articles related to the matter of whether Pluto
should be considered a planet. Many are opposing the opinion that Pluto should not be considered
a planet as the third condition is very vague. For instance, the Earth s neighbourhood could be
considered as not cleared out as the moon is following it around; Jupiter is continuously having
contact with asteroids named Trojans, and Neptune s orbit crosses over with Pluto s orbit. The
Guardian stated in one of it s articles that Pluto should not have a ban from being a planet due to
its small size. IAU, however, has not made any regards on this criticism. These opposing views
about Pluto may be correct in a way; however, factually speaking, Pluto is still not considered as a
planet as IAU has not made any changes towards its definition of the word,

The Research Process on a Project
The Research Process: The research process went well, I felt like it was easier than most
research projects. I found the project more preferable to a traditional research paper. I feel like it
is a better alternative because it gave us time to really research and give good connections. I ended
up learning more from the primary connections because I put more into my research. I felt like the
secondary connections was not as informative because I was researching connections that
someone else had already made but with the primary I had more possibilities to really learn. I
felt like there were less restraints on what I could connect the author to. With this project I learned
that it is not a simple as just typing an author s name into a search bar, I found out that you have
to dig deeper than that. I started my research on Wikipedia and then I would look at the sources
Wiki used and get my research from there.
Procedure:
The procedure of the project went well. I liked working individually, that way I am the only one
to blame for my grade. With group assignments there is always the chance of getting a not so
helpful group or the lazy partner. This just leads to frustration for the student that really worked
for the grade. As a student I feel cheated if a partner or group member gets a good grade without
really putting the effort into the project. If each student had more deadlines for the project they
would work harder on it and the research would be more thought

archetypes of edward scissor hands
Dania Perez
Emily Chahede
Archetypes of Edward Scissor Hands In the words of Carl Jung, a well known psychologist, an
archetype is An innate tendency which molds and transforms the individual consciousness. A fact
defined more through a drive than through specific inherited contents, images etc.; a matrix which
influences the human behavior as well as his ideas and concepts on the ethical, moral religious and
cultural levels (Jung). This research paper provides different archetypes that are present in Edward
Scissorhands. The 1990 film of Edward Scissor Hands portrays an American romantic fantasy film
based on the blossoming of a young creation. The story takes place in a cookie cutter suburban
society where Pegg, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At that moment Jim exposes his true intentions by pushing Edward to his limit, forcing him to
leave the scene both angry and humiliated. As Edward storms through the neighborhood his anger
gets the best of him, and pushes him into a stage of destruction. Those in the community become
frightened of his unusual behavior, and decide to take action into their own hands by calling the
local police. His family, in particular Pegg, question if bringing Edward into society had been the
best decision and go out in search of the naГЇve lad. After regaining his composure, Edward heads
back home and spends significant time with Kim, where they finally express their feeling for one
another. But just as things start to get interesting, Edward glances out the window and is shocked
at the sight of harm coming towards Kevin (Peggs brother). Edward instinctively takes it upon
himself to become Kevin s savior and as Jim and some reckless friend lose control of the car they
are in, Edward tackles Kevin to the grass, ultimately saving him. In attempts to assure that he is
okay Edward accidently scratches Kevin s face due to his scissorhands. When Jim sees this he
accuses Edward of purposefully hurting Kevin, and takes action against him by viciously attacking
him. Hearing the commotion the neighbors quickly rush to the scene, and after seeing that Edward

Industrial Areas From Centralization And Neoliberal...
With the start of globalization and international expansion cities became a more significant part
for various industry sectors. By 2000, more than 500 cities had more than one million
inhabitants. According to the United Nations, 54% of the world s population currently live in
urban areas. Urbanization combined with the overall growth of the world s population could add
another 2.5 billion people to urban populations by 2050, with close to 90 percent of the increase
concentrated in Asia and Africa. This significant change of urbanization will lead to challenges in
satisfying the needs for housing, infrastructure, transportation, energy supply and employment, as
well as for basic services such as education and health care . This report will critically discuss
three key elements in relation to urbanisation: political economy, economic growth in urban areas
and urban sociology. With this discussion, I will argue that the shift in urban areas from
centralization and neoliberal globalisation had effected society in different parts of the world
differently. Since this essay is only looking at three main aspects, this is not a complete discussion
of the matter, but it is intended to provide an insight in the main aspects of economic development
in urban areas. POLITICAL URBAN DEVELOPMENT The study of urban politics is the study
what occurs on the ground, among people who share the same space for day to day living. This
makes the study of urban politics particularly challenging

Similarities Between Inception And The Cave
Inception and The Cave
Imagine you are chained up from the time you are a baby all the way up until now, where all
you know and see are shadows on a cave wall. One day, you are removed, removed from
everything you thought you once knew only to find it wasn t real. This type of shock is exactly
what happened to the cave prisoners in Plato s allegory of the cave. The cave is an illusion of
reality to those within. The movie Inception takes an interesting twist on this idea of a false reality
through the exploration of multidimensional dreams.
We all want the truth, whether it s in the small things in our daily lives to the ultimate reality. When
someone is brought to look at a perspective that is outside of their box they may start to see that

The success of this process is predetermined in part by the livers ability to properly convert the
drug into a less lipophilic form that cannot be reabsorbed. For alprazolam, the course of
elimination relies heavily on the kidneys. Age related renal function must thereby be considered
when administering alprazolam. The kidneys are responsible for removing the unbound drug in
the plasma by glomerular filtration, proximal tubular secretion, and distal tubular reabsorption.
The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is roughly 20% of the renal plasma flow (Harvey, 2014).
Drugs that exclusively rely on the kidneys for elimination can accumulate and have toxic effects
with renal impairment. In older adults there is a progressive decline in GFR of 10% per decade
following age 50 (Breenan, 2015). This change is age related, however like those with renal disease
or injury, close monitoring and dosing adjustments must be carefully

Essay on Agriculture in India Agriculture Agriculture, also called farming or husbandry, is the cultivation of animals, plants, fungi, and other life forms for food, fiber, biofuel and other products used to sustain human life. Agriculture in India has a significant history. Today, India ranks second worldwide in farm output. Agriculture and allied sectors like forestry andfisheries accounted for 16.6% of the GDP in 2009, about 50% of the total workforce.[1] The economic contribution of agriculture to India s GDP is steadily declining with the country s broad based economic growth. Indian population has tripled, but food grain production more than quadrupled: there has thus been substantial increase in available food grain per capita. Prior to the mid 1960s India relied on imports and food aid to meet domestic requirements. However, two years of severe drought in 1965 and 1966 convinced India to reform its agricultural policy, and that India could not rely on foreign aid and foreign imports for food security. India adopted significant policy reforms focused on the goal of foodgrain self sufficiency. This ushered in India sGreen Revolution. It began with the decision to adopt superior yielding, disease resistant wheat varieties in combination with better farming knowledge to improve productivity. The Indian state ofPunjab led India s green revolution and earned itself the distinction of being the country s bread basket.[41] The initial increase in production was centred on the irrigated areas of the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. With both the farmers and the government officials focusing on farm productivity and knowledge transfer, India s total foodgrain production soared. A hectare of Indian wheat farms that produced an average of 0.8 tons in 1948, produced 4.7 tons of wheat in 1975 from the same land. Such rapid growths in farm productivity enabled India to become self sufficient by the 1970s. It also empowered the smallholder farmers to seek further means to increase food staples ... The exploration will entail using some of Gottman and Silver s principles as a method of understanding Alison and Ben s relationship, as well as Debbie and Pete s. Throughout George Orwell s novel, Nineteen Eighty Four, the protagonist, Winston Smith, is caught between the bounds of his individual perception of freedom and society s contrasting reality. While much of the society around him mindlessly follows the Party and Big Brother, Winston finds himself stopping to question what makes mankind free. As he begins to see the truths in the world around him, he is placed in a conflict with the Party s interests and with Big Brother. • 22. Romeo And Juliet Reading Analysis Introduction: How d He Do That? Recognizing patterns can make reading easier by helping me comprehend what it is that I am reading. Memory. Symbol. Pattern. These are the three items that, more than any other, separate the professional reader from the rest of the crowd. (Foster xxvii). When I recognize the patterns that the author used when writing, I am able to better understand the structure of the chapter, the plot of the story, the point of view of all the characters and the language used. A time when my appreciation for a literary work was enhanced by my understanding of a symbol or pattern was when I was reading Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare wrote in iambic pentameter whenever a character of a higher class spoke. It was easier to understand and keep track of who is who when I understand if what I was reading had a meter or not. It made it easier to decipher whether the prince was talking or a servant was. Also, recognizing the pattern of Romeo and Juliet finishing each other s sentences in iambic pentameter made reading that great play a bit easier for me to understand. Chapter 1: Every Trip Is a Quest (Except When It s Not) The 5 aspects of the QUEST are (a) a quester, (b) a place to go, (c) a stated reason to go, (d) challenges and trials en route, (e) a real reason to go there. Item (a) is easy: a quester is just a person who goes on a quest. Item (b) and (c) should be considered together: someone tells our protagonist to go somewhere and do ... After at least twenty more BEEP s, I decided to put forth a little more effort than usual and rolled over so I could actually see what I was doing. To my dismay, I miscalculated my distance from the edge and my idea did not go as planned. To say the least, I immediately began considering carpeting the bedroom floor. I sleepily made my way to the kitchen, using precautionary methods to avoid any mirrors this early in the morning. The moment I stepped through the door I was met with the best surprise a girl could have. Waffles! I said to my suddenly wide awake self. I could hear my mothers laughter at my reaction from the next room over. There s nothing funny about hunger, Mummy! I shouted in response. There is when we re talking about your bottomless pit of a stomach, she said as she made her way back into the kitchen to join me for breakfast. As I piled my plate four syrup soaked waffles high, she only picked one to pair with her sugar free syrup. She always was unnecessarily concerned about her weight. We shortly sat with only the sound of our forks against our plates, but that was short lived. So what s the plan for today? I asked her. Without waiting for a response I continued my list of questions. Do you want to go shopping? Are there any good movies out? Oh, didn t you want to try that new restaurant that ... While that may be simple for patients diagnosed with fluent aphasia, communicating thoughts for listeners to understand is much more difficult (Raymer Kohen, 2003). • 28. You May Ask Yourself, By Sociologist Dalton Conley Sociologist Dalton Conley wrote his book, You May Ask Yourself, addressing how gender is a social construction that is so normal for society to think how a man or woman should act towards the public. Society often categorizes roles that females and males are suppose to play in, but not only are they categorized they are also being taught what their genderrole is suppose to do. The beginning of gender socialization can start with a child who is not born yet by simply having the parents purchase items that are all pink if its expected to be a girl, but if its expected to be a boy then everything they purchase will be blue. Conley states that gender roles are sets of behavioral norms assumed to accompany ones status as male or female(Conley [2008] 2013:134). So even when a child is growing into their infant years, toys are made specifically for their gender. By examining how social construction places gender in categories it becomes apparent that males and females get differentiated a lot which emphasizes inequality between them. In a near by Walmart I analyzed some of the toys that were on the boy section. Most of the items that I saw had an influence of violence and/or job related roles that men are usually known to work in. This then progresses towards the end of the play, to complete lack of respect for Blanche herself, as in scene ten a drunk Stanley rapes her while her sister is in hospital; an unpleasant victory over a weakened Blanche is the very peak of tension between the two. The main tension experienced in A View from the Bridge is due to the great contrast between how Eddie sees Catherine, and how she sees him. In Eddie s world, he imagines protecting Catherine from marriage or any male relationship and wants her for himself. While Eddie wavers and switches between communal and state laws and cultures to discriminate against Rodolpho, his motivations do not change, regardless of the fact it is often at the expense of others. In 1845, a few years after The Great Migration of 1843 , fur trapper and guide Stephen Meek, mislead a group of emigrants following the Oregon trail from Missouri to the Willamette Valley, to a shortcut that put many of their lives at stake. Based on this true story, Kelly Reichardt s Meek s Cutoff (2010) uses its mise en scГЁne, cinematography and other formal properties to generate meaning about themes represented in this event such as trust, survival, and women s role in a patriarchal society. The demonstration of this type of society is shown in the film by the use of the women s point of view, which will be analysed using a simple chosen excerpt. In the selected scene, the women s muteness and passiveness can be clearly identified by multiple elements of formal features such as the point of view shot and edit of sound. One of the most obvious elements supporting this view is the manipulation of the loudness of sound. Over time, the idea of certain items evolves into complex statements that ll potentially be understood by the reader after they endure the various explanations over a chapter or more. To exemplify this, the term neocortex first appears in the introduction; where the basic description of its responsibility to deal with patterns of information(10). Further along, in chapter three, the same term advances into a labyrinth of connections. Not only does this mass, that consists of eighty percent of the human brain, influence memory patterns and such, but that it, is a comparable hierarchy of pattern recognizers processing actual images of objects...and a hierarchy of concepts... and a hierarchy of thought, (49). What this means is that our memory is prone to a humans main five senses: smell, sight, hearing, touch, and taste. If one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Grignard Reaction Lab Report For this lab, certain actions were performed to facilitate the optimal conditions for the Grignard reaction to proceed. As mentioned above, forming the Grignard reagent and the Grignard reaction must take place in dry, anhydrous conditions. This was why the glassware was initially placed in the oven to evaporate any moisture that was present on the glassware. Additionally, the magnesium used in the experiment needed to be dry too, so it was also placed in the oven to be heated. Creating a dry environment was also why the reaction vessel was covered in the septum because it helped prevent the moisture in the air from entering the reaction. Having water in the reaction vessel would destroy the Grignard reagent and hinder the Grignard reaction. Because the reaction needed to be done in dry and anhydrous conditions, diethyl etherwas used as the solventbecause it was aprotic meaning that the formation of phenylmagnesium bromide and the Grignard reaction would not be hindered by the protonation of water and alcohols3. Additionally, creating a dry environment for the reaction tried to reduce the formation of side products. One possible side product was benzene, which was formed during the protonation of the carbanion on the benzene ring during the formation of the Grignard reagent4. The carbanion was very basic meaning that if there was any water in the glassware or moist air in the environment, some of the carbanion will be protonated by the water creating benzene instead of ... • 43. The Domination Of Merchants And Land Lawyers Essay Montejano Reading: The Domination of Merchants and Land Lawyers David Montejano approaches the incorporation of Texas from the least romantic and colorful perspective of the merchants and land lawyers , noting that these capital based and export oriented... frontier folk were the region s principal architects (15). From strategic incorporation of Anglos into Mexican landed elite to the political exclusion of TexasMexicans, and from the development of commercial agriculture to driving Mexicans from their land through coercion and fraud, both Anglo merchants and land lawyers become abrasive actors in the Texan narrative. Driven by manifest destiny and a superiority complex, Anglos routinely denied Mexicans, who were the original land owners and inhabitants of the region, economic, political and social rights, eventually leading up to the modern state of Texas. With the Rio Grandeas an attractive opportunity for trade from Sante Fe and southward, many attempts to tap into the potential proved unsuccessful including the use of steamboats. Instead, the lower Rio Grande and the port of Matamoros became a point of much contention since silver bullion, lead, wool, his and beef tallow were produced in the region. The attempts to commercialize the Rio Grande peaked during the early 1800s, when, shortly after, two major US military expeditions ensued in attempts to claim the territory. • 44. Should Pluto Be Considered A Planet Essay Many may urge that Pluto should be considered a planet for it has similar characteristics as the planets of the Solar System; however, others still believe that Pluto should not be considered a planet because of its slight differences and conditions that are not matched. Pluto is recognised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) as a dwarf planet for it doesn t match the third condition of what defines a planet. IAU proposed three conditions to becoming a planet. The first condition being: (a) is in orbit around the Sun; the second condition being: (b) has sufficient mass for its self gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape; the third condition, in which Pluto has not met the standards to, being:(c) has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit. Pluto doesn t meet the standards to the final condition as Pluto follows the orbit path of some asteroid like objects in space and are surrounded with these objects. If people were to ignore the third condition and recognise Pluto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reporters with interest in Pluto have published many articles related to the matter of whether Pluto should be considered a planet. Many are opposing the opinion that Pluto should not be considered a planet as the third condition is very vague. For instance, the Earth s neighbourhood could be considered as not cleared out as the moon is following it around; Jupiter is continuously having contact with asteroids named Trojans, and Neptune s orbit crosses over with Pluto s orbit. The Guardian stated in one of it s articles that Pluto should not have a ban from being a planet due to its small size. IAU, however, has not made any regards on this criticism. These opposing views about Pluto may be correct in a way; however, factually speaking, Pluto is still not considered as a planet as IAU has not made any changes towards its definition of the word, ... • 45. The Research Process on a Project The Research Process: The research process went well, I felt like it was easier than most research projects. I found the project more preferable to a traditional research paper. I feel like it is a better alternative because it gave us time to really research and give good connections. I ended up learning more from the primary connections because I put more into my research. I felt like the secondary connections was not as informative because I was researching connections that someone else had already made but with the primary I had more possibilities to really learn. I felt like there were less restraints on what I could connect the author to. With this project I learned that it is not a simple as just typing an author s name into a search bar, I found out that you have to dig deeper than that. I started my research on Wikipedia and then I would look at the sources Wiki used and get my research from there. Procedure: The procedure of the project went well. I liked working individually, that way I am the only one to blame for my grade. With group assignments there is always the chance of getting a not so helpful group or the lazy partner. This just leads to frustration for the student that really worked for the grade. As a student I feel cheated if a partner or group member gets a good grade without really putting the effort into the project. If each student had more deadlines for the project they would work harder on it and the research would be more thought ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Industrial Areas From Centralization And Neoliberal... With the start of globalization and international expansion cities became a more significant part for various industry sectors. By 2000, more than 500 cities had more than one million inhabitants. According to the United Nations, 54% of the world s population currently live in urban areas. Urbanization combined with the overall growth of the world s population could add another 2.5 billion people to urban populations by 2050, with close to 90 percent of the increase concentrated in Asia and Africa. This significant change of urbanization will lead to challenges in satisfying the needs for housing, infrastructure, transportation, energy supply and employment, as well as for basic services such as education and health care . This report will critically discuss three key elements in relation to urbanisation: political economy, economic growth in urban areas and urban sociology. With this discussion, I will argue that the shift in urban areas from centralization and neoliberal globalisation had effected society in different parts of the world differently. Since this essay is only looking at three main aspects, this is not a complete discussion of the matter, but it is intended to provide an insight in the main aspects of economic development in urban areas. POLITICAL URBAN DEVELOPMENT The study of urban politics is the study what occurs on the ground, among people who share the same space for day to day living. This makes the study of urban politics particularly challenging ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similarities Between Inception And The Cave Inception and The Cave Imagine you are chained up from the time you are a baby all the way up until now, where all you know and see are shadows on a cave wall. One day, you are removed, removed from everything you thought you once knew only to find it wasn t real. This type of shock is exactly what happened to the cave prisoners in Plato s allegory of the cave. The cave is an illusion of reality to those within. The movie Inception takes an interesting twist on this idea of a false reality through the exploration of multidimensional dreams. We all want the truth, whether it s in the small things in our daily lives to the ultimate reality. The success of this process is predetermined in part by the livers ability to properly convert the drug into a less lipophilic form that cannot be reabsorbed. For alprazolam, the course of elimination relies heavily on the kidneys. Age related renal function must thereby be considered when administering alprazolam. The kidneys are responsible for removing the unbound drug in the plasma by glomerular filtration, proximal tubular secretion, and distal tubular reabsorption. The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is roughly 20% of the renal plasma flow (Harvey, 2014). Drugs that exclusively rely on the kidneys for elimination can accumulate and have toxic effects with renal impairment. In older adults there is a progressive decline in GFR of 10% per decade following age 50 (Breenan, 2015). This change is age related, however like those with renal disease or injury, close monitoring and dosing adjustments must be carefully ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
