Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

10. Client research:
One advertisement method used by Irn Bru to promote their soft drink , was to use slapstck-humour in a parody of The
Snowman, the nostalgic and humour was effective at getting audiences to associate it with Irn Bru. This was another
example of Irn Bru being advertised using slightly controversial content in the advertisement.

11. Client research:
One of Irn Bru’s key phrases was the iconic “Irn Bru gets you through”, this was effective as the majority of Irn Bru’s 21st
century advertisements focused on this and built the short story around this. The idea that irn bru gets you through is
shown through the use of very awkward scenarios , however its not literal proven fact that Irn Bru gets you through , but
it some situations it might get you through. A.G. Barr P.L.C. was first founded in 1904.

content they use is only slightly controversial and sometimes it is quite controversial. Barr has used

22. Individual Idea:
Irn bru advergame: racing game. Your last place in the race, you then
turn to Irn bru instead of petrol, this transforms your car into a faster
car , as it’s a rocket car, you then get to race all the other other
slower, non irn bru cars.
You can even choose your drivers gender, male and female. The
more irn bru you collect, the more fuel , if the fuel runs out then you
crash.
Or
Advergame idea *1
23. Individual Idea:
Advergame idea *2
The idea is an infinite runner , which picks up speed , as the
track is a treadmill. Where as you run you have to avoid
obstacles which are rolling toward you , these might be cans
of other soft drinks , that are not irn bru. While all that is
happening you can absorb the irn bru can power-up, this
increase strength and health for a while, meaning you don’t
have to avoid the obstacles while the effects are on. This
would also use the guy from the tv advert.

•There’s a teenager, Angus, who is being pushed around and bullied at school near his lockers and he is very upset.
•He goes into the guys changing room, locks the door and sits down on the bench.
•He opens his Irn-Bru can and drinks it.
•Then he feels weird and gets up and looks at himself in the mirror with his hands on each side of the sink.
•He then opens his eyes wide and takes his glasses off.
•Then cut to the door opening and smoke and he walks out of the changing room.
•He looks really cool and is now wearing a leather jacket and has clear skin and good hair.
•He walks out into the main hall and walks towards the door.
•People who are in the hall do a double take as they are shocked by his new looks.
•A Scottish girl says “ (Och aye the noo/ oh yes, right now) (pure dead brilliant/ you look good) “
•Then as he walks past the shop we get him in slow-motion as the winks at a group of girls.
•The girls are stood with the bully who has a cola in his hand.
•They drop all their things and follow Angus and leave the bully on his own.
•He drops his cola and goes to enter the shop but walks into the door as it’s a pull not a push.
•Angus keeps walking out the door as girls follow him excitedly.
•As he walks off the shot gets his whole body and you see he’s wearing a kilt.
•When he’s out the door he stops and drinks his Irn-Bru as he holds up a Scottish flag up in the other hand.
•Fire works bang. (Photoshop).
•Then cut to the orange background with the quote, “Irn-Bru, end your day with a bang ”.

38. Finished Stuff:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R19BWemaYzYAdvergame:
I think the vibrant colour combination worked well to show what I was advertising , even if I didn't’t clearly show what it
was. I wanted to go for a very simple and blocky style. I think in the end , looking back my advergame didn't’t piece together
as well as I thought it would, so basically I think the editing that did didn't’t work well in the end, however I did get an
insight into the world of editing products , it showed me that it takes time and a lot of effort. I am trying to improve my
video game work. One way that I would do this is by spending more time o the animation aspect of my work, this is an area
where I was lacking. Another way I would improve is in the editing aspect , as I think I could have pieced it all together a lot
better if I had had more time to use the software and practice my work.
