1. IPC Media
IPC media have published many magazines such as nuts magazine which has been aimed at the
adult men which covers men’s interests like games, sports, humour and music. IPC media have
also published uncut magazine which is a music magazine based on rock music which is aimed at
young adults both male and female gender. They have also been associated with women's
weekly’s such as Pick me up now which is aimed at women who have settled down with family's.
IPC have produced magazines such as NME (new musical express) , this magazine been targeted
at young people in the age group of 16-24 male or female. The magazine focuses on heritage
music however it is also includes music like indie, rock, punk and hip pop. IPC publish magazines
that have a genre of rock, punk and indie music.
If IPC were to publish two or three magazines with the same genre then it would be hard for the
publishing company to make each magazine unique and different from each other. This would
mean that IPC are publishing magazines that are close in competition effect sales to decrease. A
new magazine that IPC could publish would be a music magazine associated with hip pop, rap
and RnB. This is because IPC would be publishing something new to the market and an overriding
competition for sales of the magazine.
Publishers like Bauer would be more appropriate because it focus’s on music and also features
music channels on TV such as 4 music.
