ICP Media is the UK’s leading consumer magazine publisher which
engages with 26 million UK adults, almost two thirds of women and
42% of men.
Their portfolio of websites reach over twenty five million users
globally every month.
IPC has three publishing divisions; IPC Connect, IPC Inspire and
IPC Southbank.
IPC Connect cover mass market women’s division compromising
famous women’s weeklies such as Now and Chat. Also TV
entertainments brands including What's on TV and TV Times.
The men’s portfolio, ICP Inspire, focus on wealth of leisure brands
for example Country Life. Also lifestyle brands including Nuts and
NME.
ICP Southbank is the upmarket women’s division and compromises
luxury fashions brands such as Ideal Home and InStyle.
History of ICP Media





The International Publishing Corporation Ltd was
formed in 1963 following the Uk’s three leading
magazine publishers – George Newnes, Odhams
Press and Fleetway Publications – who came
together with the Mirror group to form the
International Publishing Corporation (ICP).
ICP was created five years later in 1968.
It was in 2010 that IPC Media restructured around
the three key audience groups; men, mass-market
women and up-market women.
Publications
NME
 The Uk’s weekly New Musical Express magazine has been
publishing since March 1952. It began as a music newspaper and
then moved forward during the 1980’s and 90’s into a magazine
format.
 In the 1970’s it became the best selling British music newspaper.

NME is targeted at a younger audience (15 to 30) and contains
music of the indie/rock genre, including coverage of new
music, interviews and reviews.

InStyle
 InStyle is an example of the IPC Media Southbank division for upmarket women who are interested in their appearance, fashion
and luxury brands.
 It is a monthly women's fashion magazine, which includes articles
on beauty, home, entertaining and celebrity lifestyles. Instyle aims
to appeal to all woman no matter what her fashion may be.
 The fist issue of this magazine was in 1994 and has now come to be
one of the most highly supported magazines in its category.
