3. Xcode : Integrated development environment. Provides multiple
iOS app templates.
Interface Builder : Provides drag and drop creation of user
interfaces.
IPhone simulator : Provides availability to test your
software on iPhone and iPad.
Swift Language- Apple has recently launched a new
programming language for iOS and OSX.
In iOS there are 4 abstraction layers:
The Core O.S. Layer
The Core Services Layer
The Media Layer
The Cocoa Touch Layer

4. The Core O.S Layer manages Virtual memory ,threads ,file system,
network, inter-process communication with the frameworks in the
core o.s. layer
Core Services Layer contains the fundamental interfaces for iOS ,for
accessing files ,network sockets and so on.
These interfaces are mostly C – based.
Media Layer allow you to create the best multimedia experience available
on the mobile device with frameworks.
It uses both C and Objective - C
Implementation of a graphical event-driven application in iOS with the
frameworks is performed in the cocoa touch layer
This layer uses objective - C

9. Modern Keyboard –
QuickType - IOS 8 has introduced a modern keyboard QuickType,
faster, smarter solution for useful typing. It will offer you predictive word
suggestion to use in your text. It will also learn your typing habits.
3rd Party keyboard – Apple have first time opened for 3rd party
keyboard and now user can download keyboard other then the default
keyboard
Recent Contacts in app switcher - Now you could find your key
people (you interact often) at the top of multitasking app switcher. They will
appear in circular avatars.

10. HealthKit - Apple introduced a new Health App and Healthkit
platform which keeps a centralized database for all your fitness and
health data. Health providers who are partnered with apples can view
and add new data from checkups.
More Intelligent Spotlight- When you will type your query
in Spotlight, it will automatically recognize your intent and show the
relevant results. If you search for movie, it will also provide you
nearby theaters also. If your query is place related, Wikipedia and
Map result will be displayed
