QUESTION ONE.
Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for twenty-six years by the government of South Africa based on his political views. South Africa governed itself under the policy of apartheid in South Africa into two communities based on the race. Black South Africans who were terribly impoverished. The white South Africans were wealthy, well-educated, healthy and happy.
In the early 1990s, across the globe, the world was yielding to the popular demand that the society must be fair, forced the release of Mandela from the prison and later elected as the president of South Africa.
President Nelson Mandela through his leadership, inherited a nation bitterly divided across racial lines. On one side you had the blacks, very many who demanded revenge against the minority but wealthy white. On the other hand, you had the whites who feared the new government would be corrupt, petty, and interested only in the bringing down the whites.
Did Madiba choose on any side? Which side would you choose? President Nelson Mandela did not favor the black or the white side but otherwise decided to fight the unified South Africa. Mandela decided to show the black colleagues that he was not intimidated by the challenge but rather inspired them to overcome challenges. He showed not to get into power and play over who the leader is but persuaded the uncooperative team members to take responsibility. Through doing this, they thought that was their idea. Therefore they worked together.
Mandela’s leadership quality enabled him to use charm and friendliness than confrontation and acting bossy, and it proved useful. He treated ‘adversaries’ with utmost respect just as he treated the black South Africans and therefore he gained trust and loyalty of the white South Africans. In different scenarios where interests became competent, he became open minded and preserved the participation of everyone involved.
In conclusion, the leadership quality of Mandela demonstrated that once you are given the role of a leader, respect the position and don’t go too far ahead of your base supporters who put their faith in you.
QUESTION 2.
Analyzing Mandela’s leadership performance under the scope of these elements of transformational leadership quality (Transformational Leadership Theory), his leadership ability to change management fulfills these requirements. For instance, concerning Inspirational Motivation, Stengel (2012), refers that Mandela was publicly recognized as a visionary and charismatic leader in management. In 1943, he and his friends managed to organize a group to convince the President of ANC that something must be done to prevent the ANC from being marginalized.
His dream was shared by the ANC and was made then the group’s dream in which each was committed to its achievements. As a result, they managed to form a Provisional Committee League and recruited new members to ANC (Stengel,2012).
Additionally, Sinclair (1995) notes that Mandela had charisma, an abili ...

Introduction

Throughout his life, Nelson Mandela displayed many servant leadership characteristics, but his
leadership behaviors also cast doubt on his servant leadership at various points in his life. Nelson
Mandela was, without doubt, a great leader, but was he a true servant leader? Before analyzing Nelson
Mandela’s servant leadership abilities, it is necessary to be familiar with the history of South Africa and
the issue – apartheid – that influenced Mandela more than any other.
A brief history of South Africa
When the Union of South Africa came into existence in 1910, African Blacks and other people of color
were barred from becoming members of the new Parliament. In 1912, the African National Congress
(ANC) was formed in an attempt to give minorities a voice and to protest the laws that essentially gave
all political power to the White minority; laws that would eventually lead to apartheid, an Afrikaans
word meaning “the state of being apart”. South Africa gained its independence from Great Britain in
1934, and the Nationalist party, which appealed to extreme Afrikaner nationalists, was formed around
that time.
In 1948, the Nationalist party won the Parliamentary elections and remained in power for the next fifty
years. The Nationalist party made apartheid the official ideology for the new government and for their
fifty-year reign (South African Histroy Online, 2015). Examples of legislation passed by the Nationalist
party to advance apartheid included:
• The Group Areas Act of 1950 (enforced the racial division of land);
• The Population Registration Act of 1950 (classified all citizens by race);
• The Pass Laws of 1952 (restricted movement of Blacks).
The Nationalist party goal was to develop a policy of “separate development”: the division of the Black
population into ethnic nations, each of which was to have its own homeland and eventual
independence. All of this was to be decided, of course, by the Nationalist party in ways that would likely
keep the White minority in power indefinitely (South African Histroy Online, 2015).
The next thirty years featured constant clashes between Blacks and White authorities as the Black
majority attempted to abolish apartheid and gain basic rights. Although Indian and Asian populations
were also involved, Blacks formed the majority of those impacted. In 1961 the United Nations passed
economic sanctions against South Africa to support the abolishment of apartheid, but the Nationalist
Party did n.

• The Group Areas Act of 1950 (enforced the racial division of land);
• The Population Registration Act of 1950 (classified all citizens by race);

Drawbacks of A Charismatic Leader
Lack of Successors and Visionaries
Lack of Clarity
Addictive quality
A charismatic leader often retains the majority of the control of the members of the group because he or she has faith in themselves. A charismatic leader will find it difficult to hand over control to another person because he or she does not trust that the other person will handle duties the same or because the leader enjoys being at the top and having control over everything and everyone. For the people who follow a charismatic leader, the can develop an unhealthy dependence on him or her due to the i.

Charismatic vs. Transformational
1
The act of leading an organization or group of people plays a leading role in effecting change.
However, it can also hinder change in an organization or society.
Some of the leadership styles that have proved valuable over years include charismatic and transformational leadership styles.
Introduction
While charismatic and transformational leadership styles have been used by many leaders who are considered to be good leaders, there are significant differences between the two. The differences can be identified from how particular leaders employed charismatic and transformation leadership traits. These traits impact my leadership style daily. Depending on my target audience for the task at hand to be completed.
2
Charismatic leadership relies on the leader’s charm and attraction to create inspired and devoted followers towards the leader (Nikoloski, 2015) while transformational leadership establishes a collective vision to create change in individuals and social systems.

The confidence that Mandela exhibited can be seen at various instances of his life including when he expressed during trial that he was ready to live or die for democratic society in which all people live in harmony. To be a strong leader, one has to practice self-confidence. People who always second-guess themselves and feel shy around their coworkers may not attract others.

Module 03 Discussion - Dream or Reality?
The narrative voice ... enters a heavy, dreamlike mode. When the all clear finally sounds and the
hum of the metropolis resumes, a central character, who has been venturing a flirtation with
another passenger, is jolted into awareness that the possibilities unfolding \'while the city was
sealed off\' cannot belong to real like. Yet a form of life did surface: however fleetingly,
...enabling a different kind of humanity to emerge\" (Puchner, 2012, p. 498).
\"Sealed off\" by Zhang Ailing is referred to as a psychological fiction where dreams and desires
surface. How does the narrative language, description, dialogue, and repetition create the illusion
of reality? Be sure to share a quote from the story to support your discussion.
Please respond to students post!
By. Mr. Nelson,
The story is told from the 3rd person and has a limited view her straightforward reporting style
allows a sympathetic view. You are able to see into both characters emotional state. The
interpretation of even the title Sealed Off is noted and sets a stage for the reader to a war-ridden
state. The city is sealed off but the story doesn’t go into detail on how it is, this is left up to the
reader to use imagination. The tow characters Cuiyan and Zongzhen are sealed off and distant to
the people in their lives both professionally and personally.
\"I don\'t know why, every evening when the time rolls around; I go home. What home? I don\'t
really have a home.\" He removed his glasses, held them up to the light, wiped off the moisture
with his handkerchief. Another little cough. \"So–I just have to keep going on, and try not to
think about it. I can\'t start thinking about it!\" Cuiyuan always felt a certain revulsion when a
nearsighted person removed his glasses in front of others. It was indecent, like taking off your
clothes in public.
I chose this particular quote from the story because it shows a glimpse of what his personal life is
and by removing his glasses it also captures a period of vulnerability. Most people tend to guard
themselves and only show others what they think they want to see, by taking off his glasses he is
showing a side that is uncensored.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
