2. MY
SUGGESTION
AND
PROPOSAL
My
suggestion
for
this
project
is
POCKET
PARK.
A
pocket
park
(also
known
as
a
parkette,
mini-‐park,
vest-‐pocket
park
or
vesty
park)
is
a
small
park
accessible
to
the
general
public.
Pocket
parks
are
frequently
created
on
a
single
vacant
building
lot
or
on
small,
irregular
pieces
of
land.
They
also
may
be
created
as
a
component
of
the
public
space
requirement
of
large
building
projects.
Pocket
parks
can
be
urban,
suburban
or
rural,
and
can
be
on
public
or
private
land.
Although
they
are
too
small
for
physical
activities,
pocket
parks
provide
greenery,
a
place
to
sit
outdoors,
and
sometimes
a
children's
playground.
They
may
be
created
around
a
monument,
historic
marker
or
art
project.
In
highly
urbanized
areas,
particularly
downtowns
where
land
is
very
expensive,
pocket
parks
are
the
only
option
for
creating
new
public
spaces
without
large-‐scale
redevelopment.
In
inner-‐city
areas,
pocket
parks
are
often
part
of
urban
regenerationplans
and
provide
areas
where
wildlife
such
as
birds
can
establish
a
foothold.
Unlike
larger
parks,
pocket
parks
are
sometimes
designed
to
be
fenced
and
locked
when
not
in
use.
Beside
that,
my
site
area
are
surrounding
by
residential
area
and
commercial
area.
I
realise
,my
site
area
are
lack
of
a
recreation
area.
Recreation
area
are
needed
to
everyone
for
relax
after
a
busy
day.
In
the
pocket
park,
the
design
will
be
modern
style
,
inside
the
pocket
park
will
have
children
play
area,
sitting
area
.
The
uses
of
the
pocket
park
is
Rest
&
relaxation,
lunch
area,
sight-‐
seeing,
meeting
spot.
There
are
no
parking
area
,
the
people
who
wanted
come
to
the
pocket
park
,
I
encourage
them
walk
to
here
or
take
public
bus
to
here.

the
example
of
pocket
park
in
other
country
A
Midtown

Paley

Rest

relaxation,
lunch
area,
sight-‐seeing,
meeting
spot,
etc.
Features:
17
honey
locust
trees,
20-‐foot
waterfall
on
back
wall,
moveable
chairs,
concession
stand,
ivy-‐covered
walls.
Paley
Park
is
one
of
the
most
widely
known
and
most
successful
of
all
pocket
parks.
It
is
designed
as
an
oasis
away
from
the
bustle
of
Manhattan
while
still
maintaining
clear
sight
lines
and
a
connection
with
the
street.
Unlike
some
pocket
parks,
Paley
Park
does
not
attempt
to
be
multi-‐functional.
It
is
primarily
a
place
for
sitting
and
relaxing
and,
despite
catering
to
a
limited
user
group,
is
extremely
busy
and
popular
because
of
the
high
density
of
workers,
shoppers,
and
tourists
in
the
area.
The
midtown
park
is
for
adults-‐
offi
ce
workers,
shoppers,
tourists,
and
passerby.
Its
purpose
is
for
rest-‐
for
the
offi
ce
worker
who
has
fi
nished
lunch,
a
place
to
spend
the
remainder
of
the
lunch
hour;
for
the
shopper,
an
opportunity
to
put
down
parcels,
recline
in
a
comfortable
chair,
and
perhaps
sip
a
coffee
before
continuing;
for
the
tourist
or
passerby
an
oppourtunity
to
be
refreshed
visually
by
the
scale
of
the
place,
by
the
dense
green
growth
and,
hopefully,
by
the
quiet
of
the
tiny
space.

Benefits
of
Pocket
Park
Building
the
pocket
park,
have
a
lot
of
benefits
,
first
was
a
place
that
give
people
relax.
Everyone
are
busy
with
their
daily
work
,
stress
and
tension
always
come
out
of
their
mind
,
so
pocket
park
can
help
them
to
realese
their
stress
because
at
pocket
park
the
design
was
peaceful
and
it
was
a
tranquil
places
too.
Besides
that,
it
also
a
place
that
can
gather
your
family
and
friends.
Example,
parents
always
busy
with
their
work
can
cause
them
lack
interest
with
their
kids
,
so
if
pocket
park
is
build
in
their
residential
area
,they
will
have
a
nearest
place
to
play
with
their
kids
.
For
friends
they
can
meet
up
with
them
on
lunch
time
and
having
their
lunch
at
pocket
park.
Morover,
pocket
park
also
can
help
the
environment
be
green.
In
the
pocket
park,
there
got
trees
,flower
and
help
the
environment
be
green
and
look
more
nice
.
I
realise
that
my
choosing
site
were
lack
planting
of
tress
and
some
others
plants
and
the
air
are
be
polluted
too,
trees
provide
us
oxygen
,
so
planting
trees
was
needed
in
the
pocket
park.
Impacts
of
Pocket
Park
Pocket
park
have
a
lot
of
benefits
but
also
have
impact
too.
First
at
all
,
because
the
pocket
park
is
small
,if
too
many
people
come
it
will
be
crowned.
Next
,
traffic
jam
problem
appear
,
my
site
was
beside
the
LDP
highway
,
if
many
people
came
to
the
park
,
the
traffic
of
the
LDP
highway
will
be
more
jam
and
cause
the
site
lively.

Sketch
Of
My
Proposal
In
my
plan,
there
got
the
table
,
and
the
pocket
park
was
surrounded
by
tress
.
Bricks
are
using
as
the
ground
