2. The basic things I am trying to
cover here are :
• New features you possess after upgrading
• Camera suggestion (With Pros & Cons,
Entry/Professional level and estimated
costs)
3. NEW FEATURES
My favorite – Depth Of field
• To be defined in the most layman of terms, it is the feature
that allows you to isolate and focus on the subject and
blurring everything else.
4. The Control Factor
• You can control zoom
• Can control focal length and aperture (Which
eventually control the depth of field)
• Reduce Noise (Those grains you see when you
zoom into a picture, see below)
5. Control Light
• Which, you will learn, is a photographers biggest
tool, check out how light gives a different feel to
the pictures below)
6. Controlling the ISO value
• Helps in shooting in bright light or dark nights
and also effects shutter speed, see next slide
7. Shutter Speed
• This is basically the time your camera needs to
actually capture an image. So it comes in handy when
you have to capture fast moving subjects, like in
sports or creating that ‘dreamy’ in waterfalls etc)
8. The best part
• And the best part is SLRs never go out of times, you can
always upgrade to a new body or a new lens kit and until
you stay with the same brand you will do just fine, but
bear in mind that all of this is extremely costly.
9. • Here are some good low cost entry level
cameras that you can choose. Ofocurse this
list is going to change as technology moves
forward.
Sample cameras
10. Nikon D5100/D5200
• The good: With excellent photo and video quality
for its class, a fluid shooting design and solid
feature set the Nikon D5200 delivers a lot for the
money.
• The bad: Though it has no significant flaws, the lack
of an autofocus motor in the body limits your lens-
selection flexibility
• Cost : Rs 42,000/-
11. Nikon D3200
• The good: With reasonably fast performance and very good
photo quality, the Nikon D3200 delivers what you expect from
a DSLR.
• The bad: The camera's lackluster feature set, some
underwhelming design changes.
12. Picture I would love to shoot
• One of my favorite pictures that I would really love to shoot someday is the solar corona
emanating during an eclipse.
• Here’s a good tutorial explaining how to shoot a solar corona
