visually oriented.
• Images including photographs, illustrations, drawings, clip art, icons
any other non-text elements on a website or in social media are
example of graphics.
• The points at which an image is sampled are known as picture elemen
commonly abbreviated as pixels.
• The pixel values of intensity images are called grayscale levels. There a
different kinds of image formats like the Captured Image Format and t
format when images are stored.
Audio:
Sound can enhance your website design and social media platforms. It is
a multimedia application that uses dialogue, recorded narration, music
and sound effects.
Music demands a higher-quality and a wider sound-frequency range
than narration and therefore produces larger files.

Macintosh systems respectively
Video

drawing tools rather than with imported bitmaps.
TYPES OF MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia : divided into Linear and Non-linear Multimedia.
•Linear Multimedia is a type of a multimedia that is designed to be
presented in a sequential manner, the active content progresses
without any navigational control for the viewer
•Linear Multimedia may also be referred to as “Passive
Multimedia” because of the viewer is a passive receiver of the
multimedia content most of the time.
• For example a movie uses a combination of audio, graphics and
animations.
• Non-linear Multimedia uses interactivity to control progress as with a
video game or self-paced computer based training.
• The person needs to interact with a computer program, thus making
him in control of the experience. Or
• With the presence of an interface, the person and the computer
interacts with each other.
• Example: A Website , A search engine’s home page
Non-linear Multimedia
APPLICATIONS OF MULTIMEDIA
•Multimedia Applications is the creation of exciting and innovative
multimedia systems that communicate information customized to the
user in a non-linear interactive format.
•Many applications of multimedia in this web world. They are as
