This presentation talks about an overview of the internet websites (history of internet websites, who had the main idea for the internet websites and comparing between two kinds of websites static and dynamic (advantages and disadvantage for each one of them)).

2. WHAT ARE THE INTERNET WEBSITES??
The internet websites is a collection of related web pages,
including multimedia content, typically identified with a common
domain name, and published on at least one web server.
domain name: the main string identifier in web address exp: www.Microsoft.com
Web server: the hardware device that we upload the websites on it also, we called it Hosting service
multimedia: the media content like (image – audio – video …..etc)
web pages: the internet content that we can access it with the same
internet address
3. The World Wide Web (WWW) was created in 1990 by the British
CERN physicist Tim Berners-Lee.
On 30 April 1993, CERN announced that the World Wide Web
would be free to use for anyone.
The World Wide Web ("WWW" or simply the "Web") is a global
information medium which users can read, write and choose files
to download via computers connected to the Internet.
-The web is the global information system-
HISTORY
5. OVERVIEW
Websites can have many functions and can be used in various fashions; a website can be a
personal website, a corporate website for a company, a government website, an organization
website, etc.
All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute the World
Wide Web, while private websites, such as a company's website for
its employees, are typically a part of an intranet.
6. KINDS OF INTERNET WEBSITES
There are two kinds of internet websites:
Static websites & Dynamic websites.
And we will talk about both of them in details at the next slides.
7. STATIC WEBSITES
This type of website usually displays the same information to all
visitors.
A static website is one that has web pages stored on the server in the format that is sent to
a client web browser.
Images are commonly used to effect the desired appearance and as
part of the main content.
8. STATIC WEBSITES ADVANTAGES
Time-Saving: a static website is developed in a very fast, easy and quick manner.
A professional web developer can develop a static website much faster than a dynamic website.
Fast Transferring: static websites do not have complex structures and are quickly and easily
transferred from server to client without much processing time.
More Flexibility: Static websites are very flexible i.e. every page can be resized differently to
match the client’s requirements.
9. STATIC WEBSITES DISADVANTAGES
Difficult to Update: a static website needs constant updates to be in sync with the latest trends
which is a time-consuming and an expensive affair. It requires the expertise of a developer to
update, add or change any content on a static website.
Limited Functionality: one can add text, images, videos, and hyperlinks in the content of a
static website, but other than that, there are no other functionalities that a static website can
perform.
Less Scalability: if you wish to sell products on a static website and you have a lot of them or
have to update them frequently, then you may have to construct individual pages for each one,
which will consume considerable time, effort and cost.
10. DYNAMIC WEBSITES
A dynamic Websites developed using advanced server-side technologies
like PHP Python and ASP.net
A dynamic website contains dynamic web pages that a user can interact
with, i.e. its interface and structure can be manipulated independently of
the content.
A dynamic website is one that changes or customizes itself frequently and automatically.
Server-side dynamic pages are generated "on the fly" by computer code
Various web application frameworks and web template systems are available
for general-use programming languages
11. DYNAMIC WEBSITES ADVANTAGES
Interactive: dynamic websites have a user-friendly interface which allows them to interact with
the users and can be changed/ restructured/developed/amended as and when required.
Quick Responsiveness: a dynamic website can be quickly updated to become responsive to
various screen sizes.
Smooth Navigation: a dynamic website offers a smoother navigation and lets the user
jump/move from one page to the other without any problem.
12. DYNAMIC WEBSITES DISADVANTAGES
Higher Costs: dynamic websites seem to be more expensive in its initial phase, but in the long
run prove beneficial for a business. The costs for additional functionality and hosting are higher,
but apart from these costs, there are little or no ongoing costs involved.
Slow Processing: dynamic websites have a number of functions to perform with complex
technology, which makes them slower to process and load.
Design Elements: The design of a dynamic site is more fixed than a static one because many
of the pages are essentially a template into which data and content are poured to create
multiple pages of a similar type.
13. CONCLUSION
A static website is known for its simplicity and ease with which its potential customers view
different pages on the screen easily.
On the other hand, dynamic websites create a professional, attention-grabbing experience for
your visitors by their rich-functionality, interactiveness, and intuitiveness.
A dynamic website, although costing high is a one-time investment option which will be highly
beneficial for scaling your business online.
After analyzing the Difference Between Static and Dynamic Websites, we can say that both
have their own advantages and disadvantages.
