3 Golden Rules of “Netiquette” RESPECT ALL USERS people waiting to use the computer you are using people who receives your email people you share a computer with people you contact using instant messaging
3 Golden Rules of “Netiquette” 2.  USE APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE In Any email In Chat rooms  When Using Instant Messaging programs *Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in person*
3 Golden Rules of “Netiquette” 3.  RESPECT THE PRIVACY OF OTHER USERS Don't read some else's mail  Be aware of other internet users (family, friends and younger brothers and sisters) Don’t interfere when they are at a safe website or doing homework
Think B4U Click If you come across something that makes you feel uncomfortable,  tell your parents or an adult  immediately
Think B4U Click People on the Internet may not be who they seem
Think B4U Click Always get to know your online friends just as you would get to know all of your friends
Safety Tips Never  post or send your picture without first asking a parent Never  arrange a face-to-face meeting Never  give out personal information  Name Address School name Telephone number
When using Email & IM… Change your password to your login often— and keep it in a safe place Keep your password  information safe & don’t  share it with anyone Keep personal information  personal
When using Email & IM… Don’t open any attachments that you don’t know Don’t reply to spam or offensive e-mail Spammers’ favorite trick: “Remember me?”  Delete all e-mails from people you don’t know Log off when you are done
But most importantly… FOLLOW THE RULES OF YOUR FAMILY WHEN YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET!
