This paper discusses the development of a content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system that employs sketch-based image retrieval (SBIR) to address the limitations of traditional text-based retrieval methods. It explores various subsystems involved in the retrieval process, including preprocessing techniques, feature vector generation, and database management, highlighting the importance of bridging the information gap between sketches and full-color images. The system's effectiveness is validated through testing with multiple databases, demonstrating significant improvements in precision and recall metrics compared to existing methodologies.
