There are essential security considerations in the systems used by semiconductor companies like TI. Along
with other semiconductor companies, TI has recognized that IT security is highly crucial during web
application developers' system development life cycle (SDLC). The challenges faced by TI web developers
were consolidated via questionnaires starting with how risk management and secure coding can be
reinforced in SDLC; and how to achieve IT Security, PM and SDLC initiatives by developing a prototype
which was evaluated considering the aforementioned goals. This study aimed to practice NIST strategies
by integrating risk management checkpoints in the SDLC; enforce secure coding using static code analysis
tool by developing a prototype application mapped with IT Security goals, project management and SDLC
initiatives and evaluation of the impact of the proposed solution. This paper discussed how SecureTI was
able to satisfy IT Security requirements in the SDLC and PM phases.

Affordable Multi-touch Teaching Station for Engineering ClassesWaqas Tariq
The purpose of this paper is to present the development of a cost effective multi-touch teaching station that support existing educational applications and the custom-made Multi-touch Teaching Module that are being used by instructor to teach undergraduate engineering laboratory class in Multimedia University. The technology-enhanced teaching station was developed based on optical tracking technique known as Frustrated Total Internal Refraction (FTIR) to achieve multi-touch capabilities on the table surface. The Adobe Flash-based Multi-touch Teaching Module supports popular multi-touch gestures including panning, rotating, zooming in and out on multimedia educational content such as streaming video lecture, animation and schematic diagram. The Multi-touch Teaching Module enhances the way lecturers manipulate teaching material such as enlarging a complex electronic circuitry with just fingers\' gesture when operating with the teaching station. When operating the multi-touch teaching station with existing educational applications, lecturers can use it as a normal touch screen to directly interact with the application instead of using a mouse or keyboard, making the interface more intuitive. Some lecturers have evaluated the teaching station and provided positive feedback over standard computer because it is much easier to operate. In short, the paper summarizes the experience in developing a universal multi-touch teaching station and Multi-touch Teaching Module as well as the system evaluation by instructors in an undergraduate engineering laboratory class, which is valuable for those who intend to enhance teaching platform with technology in a university.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.

Nov. 19, 2016, Nanning, China – Themed “Smart Education Starts with Intel
Inside”, the 71st China Education Equipment Show was held in Nanning. Intel
and its educational ecosystem partners gathered together to discuss
development trends in the China’s education industry and future education
models, and to brainstorm ideas on how to promote cloud solutions in
classrooms and share education resources. During the summit, Intel and its
partners announced the new ZoneKey Video Record Broadcasting Application,
based on Intel Visual Data Reference Design Specification. The application will
drive digital transformation of the education industry and close the gap among
various regional in education resources.
The new ZoneKey Video Record Broadcasting Application integrates record
broadcasting systems and interactive whiteboards and enables real-time
response based on big data backhaul analysis and provides massive media
and education content resources. The solution fully supports online and offline
education for seamless learning and communication between students and
2. teachers and enable true “cloud classroom”. Unlike the traditional teacher-led
model, the “cloud classroom” encourages students to be active and
autonomous, drives cooperation and interaction among students, and truly
enables remote education through real-time record broadcasting. After classes,
it can release curriculums, campus notifications, news, emergent events,
security notices and more. The new ZoneKey Video Record Broadcasting
Application can provide key support; demonstrate the future of education in
enabling remote education and education resource sharing; shift traditional
education models and philosophies, and solve problems like the lack of
education resources in remote areas.
