Example Activity for Learning & Innovation Skills The class will be creating a mural at the local Boys and Girls Club •  Medium : acrylic weather-proof paints •  Size : 6ft by 12ft •  Subject : “Community Unity” •  Time : 4 weeks
The students will cover all areas of learning and innovation skills through this project :  Creativity & Innovation *Think Creatively - portray “community unity” in a visual way *Work Creatively with Others - ultimately decide on one idea as a whole class *Implement Innovations - take mural from the classroom to the outside world for all to see
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving *Reason Effectively - fit mural in perimeter given *Use Systems Thinking -enlarge original draft of mural in classroom to fit wall of actual building *Make Judgments & Decisions - recognize when something is not working and looking back on prior learning to reassess the situation *Solving Problems -solve the problems while satisfying requirements and others opinions
Communication & Collaboration • Communicate Clearly -address concerns and advice in an effective manner, while using visual aids or art related tools when necessary • Collaborate with Others -get along and work with others, while successfully completing the whole mural but also having respect for the individual work of all students

  • 6. Example Activity for Learning & Innovation Skills The class will be creating a mural at the local Boys and Girls Club • Medium : acrylic weather-proof paints • Size : 6ft by 12ft • Subject : “Community Unity” • Time : 4 weeks

The students will cover all areas of learning and innovation skills through this project : Creativity & Innovation *Think Creatively - portray “community unity” in a visual way *Work Creatively with Others - ultimately decide on one idea as a whole class *Implement Innovations - take mural from the classroom to the outside world for all to see

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving *Reason Effectively - fit mural in perimeter given *Use Systems Thinking -enlarge original draft of mural in classroom to fit wall of actual building *Make Judgments & Decisions - recognize when something is not working and looking back on prior learning to reassess the situation *Solving Problems -solve the problems while satisfying requirements and others opinions

Communication & Collaboration • Communicate Clearly -address concerns and advice in an effective manner, while using visual aids or art related tools when necessary • Collaborate with Others -get along and work with others, while successfully completing the whole mural but also having respect for the individual work of all students
