Our production company is called Clockwork Productions. We chose this name because it sounds established like other major studios while also being short and catchy. For our logo, we designed a stylized image of clockwork in an old-fashioned style to represent our company's focus on quality work. We will distribute our film The Dare Game through Revolver, a British distributor that has successfully released other thriller films targeting our intended audience. The primary source of funding for The Dare Game will be a grant from the British film industry lottery fund, which supports new filmmakers. This funding source is the most suitable and ensures our film can be produced and distributed as planned.

2. WHAT DOES A PRODUCTION COMPANY DO?
A production company of a film may be directly responsible for fundraising for the production or may
obtain this through a parent company, partner, or private investor.
It handles budgeting, scheduling, scripting, the supply with talent and resources, the organization of
staff, the production itself, post-production, distribution, and marketing.
Production companies are often either owned or under contract with a media company, film studio,
entertainment company, or Motion Picture Company, who act as the production company's partner
or parent company. This has become known as the "studio system”.
They can also be mainstream independent such as Lucas films, or completely independent such as
Lionsgate. Production companies can work together in co-productions

3. OUR PRODUCTION COMPANY LOGO
We essentially wanted a unique production company
and logo, we chose to name our production company
ClockWork productions as it has a catchy ring to it,
which makes it memorable. We also wanted to create a
production company that sounds like it has been around
the same time as Warner Brothers and 20th Century
Fox. By having a production company named
ClockWork it connotes good working order, showing to
the audience that the films produced by this company
will be of good standard. However we made it sound
and look more contemporary as it is short and catchy.
To effectively promote what we wanted to portray we
conventionally chose an image of a clocks works in a
bronze tone, which we dulled. We also used old
fashioned style writing. However we made our ident
adaptable by the use of the sound, the sound we chose
matches the film style but having a type of sound we
could use for all films.

4. WHAT DOES A DISTRIBUTOR DO?
A film distributor is a company or individual responsible for the marketing of a film. The
distributor needs to take many steps in order to distribute. They analyse and then decide how
many copies to make, and then they decide the price. The distributor sets and announces the
release date of a film and the way a film is to be shown or made available for viewing. For
example, directly to the public either theatrically or for home viewing (DVD, video-on-demand,
download, television programs through broadcast syndication etc.). A distributor may do this
directly, if the distributor owns the theatres or film distribution networks, or through theatrical
exhibitors and other sub-distributors. A limited distributor may deal only with particular
products, such as DVDs or Blu-ray, or may act in a particular country or market.
We chose Revolver to distribute our film as they have successfully distributed many other
British thriller films such as Haunted Echoes, You Kill me and Citadel. And we felt this would
be the best possible outcome for our film.

5. FUNDING OF OUR FILM
The funding of The Dare Game would be from the British film industry lottery fund. This
supports new film makers in the UK who are emerging. This would suit our film as this would
provide the necessary funding to make our film be able to be produced and distributed to our
target demographic. So therefore this is the most successful way to bring our film out.
