Cognitive Learning Theory EME 2040
The cognitive learning theory views learners as information processors similar to computers. It argues that thinking, memory, and problem-solving should be explored by opening the "black box" of the mind. Key people who developed cognitive learning theory include Gagne, Bloom, Paivio, and Gardner. Under this theory, teachers highlight important ideas and help students connect new information to prior knowledge. Students learn by actively participating and relating new ideas to existing schemas or mental frameworks.

- 1. I would like to used Inquiry(student centred) because is it the enjoy method to create creativity, skill and pupil talent. This approach trains students on problem-solving skills that involve 'reasoning' to solve complex problems. Teacher-centered teaching is only suitable for conveying factual information, using mnemonic and training and thus build low-level thinking. Use of techniques such as simulation, inquiry-discovery, problem solving, learning cooperatives can build high-level thinking skills. Able to appreciate the problem and how to solve it. Therefore students need to engage with a variety of resources.
