This document discusses teacher-centered vs student-centered learning. Teacher-centered learning positions the teacher as the center of knowledge and students passively receive information. Student-centered learning shifts power to the learner and treats them as a co-creator in the learning process. Some benefits of student-centered learning are that it develops thinking and social skills, encourages alternative assessments, helps transfer skills to the real world, and promotes intrinsic motivation to learn. The document proposes implementing more student-centered learning approaches at FEATI Senior High School to enhance the quality of education, especially for their maritime students.
