Excellence in water innovation…
2. Introduction A rising world population; increased demand
for water for agriculture, industry, and energy
production; and a growing desire for safer and
more plentiful water supplies are pressuring
existing resources and water quality has
deteriorated. .
Also, the rapid increasing demands for
irrigation, human and industrial consumption,
the available water resources in many parts of
the world especially in India are getting
depleted
At the same time, climate change and
water pollution reduce the quality of fresh
water.
3. IMPORATANCE OF WATER QUALITY MONITORING
The health burden of poor water quality is
enormous. It is estimated that around 37.7
million Indians are affected by waterborne
diseases annually, 1.5 million children are
estimated to die of diarrhoea alone and 73
million working days are lost due to waterborne
disease each year.
The resulting economic burden is estimated at
$600 million a year. The problems of chemical
contamination is also prevalent in India with
1,95,813 habitations in the country are affected
by poor water quality.
The major chemical parameters of concern are
fluoride and arsenic. Iron is also emerging as a
major problem with many habitations showing
excess iron in the water samples
4. Water Quality Monitoring
Qualitative and quantitative
measurements are needed
from time to time to
constantly monitor the quality
of water from the various
sources of supply.
5. While traditional water monitoring and
contamination detection systems are designed to
measure only a single parameter at a time, new
remote monitoring system takes quite the opposite
approach.
Sensor unit allows the operator to set the required
definition of purity, and then monitors the water
continuously for deviations from that defined purity
- the sensor 'tastes' any changes as soon as they
occur, and reports them instantly in real-time by
SMS or email.
Need For New Approach
6. EARLY WARNING SYSTEM
Technical abstract
The electro chemical technology works on a relatively simple
principle: the working electrodes on the sensor, together with each
other and with the reference electrode, detect deviations from a pre-
defined quality fingerprint (electrochemical profile), and neural
calculations are performed in our servers using our proprietary
software, in order to create an index which presents the extent of
the quality-change in a clear visual format.

8. INNOVATION: LIQUID CHEMISTRY MEASURED BY MANY DIFFERENT ELECTRODES
USING ELECTROCHEMICAL METHODS
new reliable wet-end process data which cannot be obtained by
traditional wet-end measurements.
9. New combined method of water quality monitoring
Electrodes are sensitive to different types of ions.

11. LIQUM® Rapid Water Water Quality Measuring Service
The service combines real-time electrochemical
monitoring with laboratory testing/research.
Liqum Ealrly Warning Service LEW-100
The LEW-100 real-time electrochemical water
monitoring system is the result of extensive
research, long-term product development and a
high level of expertise.
Liqum 80 parameters Analysis
When the LEW-100 sensor detects a change in
water quality, the customer takes a water sample
and sends it, in the receptacle provided, to the
Liqum 80 parameters Analysis Service, which
identifies the elements, nutrients, and total organic
carbon content.
- 69 elements
- phosphate-phosphorus
- ammonium, nitrite, nitrate
- TOC
Electro-chemical water quality changes are
visualized as clear graphs on the customer’s
computer screen via the Internet; the results of
laboratory analyses are presented in electronic
form too.
SERVICE PACKAGE
The service package includes:
- LEW-100 test probe hire
- On-line user interface creation and maintenance
- Sample bottles(30ml) and postage
- Liqum 80 paramters Laboratory Services

16. Early Warning service monitors water quality and liquids in
industrial processes and in the natural environment.
The service detects quality-changes caused by contamination,
disturbances or incorrect chemical dosing.
Monitoring is continuous, accurate and reliable. Deviations
from the desired quality level are reported in real time (SMS and
e-mail alerts), giving the operator the opportunity to take
immediate preventive action

21. Water source
Clean drinking water sources are diminishing
rapidly all over the world.
To assure good, clean water, it is essential to
monitor the quality all the way from the source,
via treatment and distribution systems, to the
consumer’s tap.
Multiple monitoring points in the water system
allow for early and timely reaction to water
quality fluctuations, regardless of if the source
of the change.
Nano technology solutions also play a valuable
role in securing the quality of outgoing water
and sludge at wastewater treatment plants.
22. Environment
Water-, soil- and sea pollution constitute a serious threat to life on
our planet. Water pollution is increasing, while clean water
availability is diminishing. This wireless monitoring system is ideal
for monitoring large expanses of water; the probes can even be
installed on a boat or raft.
The technology can also be used to compare surface- or ground
water quality upstream and downstream of industrial centres.
The Early Warning solution places emphasis on tracking changes in
pollutant concentrations. It is the world's only single-sensor system
capable of detecting simultaneously many organic and non-organic
contaminations as low as a few parts per billion.
23. Beverage
Good consistent water quality is one of the main concerns
of the beverage industries. The quality of the water used
plays the key role in determining the taste of the final
product, for good quality water guarantees a balanced and
pleasant taste. In addition, every litre saved in the
production process saves money and helps reduce the
burden on the environment.
The liquid monitoring solution answers many questions that
have remained unanswered by the traditional food and
beverage process technologies. Liqum Early Warning
solution allows the operator to set the required definition of
purity and then monitors the water continuously for
deviations from that defined purity - the sensor 'tastes' any
changes as soon as they occur, and reports them in real-
time.
Technology can be used to support the production or
processing of any of the following: natural mineral water,
spring water, potable water, raw water, soft drinks, wine,
beer, spirits and liquors, milk.
24. Pharmaceutical
As regulations and operating constraints become
more stringent in the pharmaceutical industry,
constant real-time fluid monitoring is set to become
more and more crucial.
Ensures good and consistent water monitoring for
pharmaceutical processes. It detects changes in
water quality as low as a few parts per billion.
Pharmaceutical applications require various types of
clean water from ultra-pure to ion-exchanged to
softened water. The remote monitoring solution
makes it possible to control the water quality even
better due to the higher sensitivity of the system
25. Aqua farming
Aqua farming is critical in producing high-protein
food for the world’s growing population.
In the aqua farming sector, is focused on closed
water circulation systems. The monitoring
solution is typically used to monitor the most
critical parameters in the water, namely
phosphorous and nitrogen compounds and CO2
in order to optimise feeding intervals.
