This document discusses potential concepts for a music video. The first concept involves the main actress and love interest walking on the beach holding hands to portray their love, but filming at the beach would be difficult. The second concept is solely a narrative of the couple arguing and the actress crying over photos, but it is too basic and negative. The third involves only a dance performance by the couple, but it risks becoming repetitive and finding the right male dancer would be difficult. The final concept proposed incorporates both a performance and narrative - it shows intimacy between the couple at home with lyrics projected on their faces, and then cuts to the actress's solo dance performance being watched by her love interest. This combines narrative and performance elements while addressing issues with previous

2. Consisted of both my main actress and love interest to be a
completing a range of activities in every day life e.g. both walking
along the beach holding hands. This shows to the audience that
they are in love with one another whilst building my narrative. I
feel this concept would also fit the lyrics of the song.
However, I did not stick with concept as filming at the beach
would be difficult within autumn as the weather is very
unpredictable, as well as being an inconvenient for myself and
others to arrive there due to transport.
Also the concept was not very original in terms of narrative and is
rather basic. I would also like to have a performance element
within my piece as many music video’s within the genre of RnB
have performance elements.

3. This idea is solely narrative based and consists of my main actress and love
interest arguing at the beginning of the video, this then leading to my main
actress feeling saddened as she is losing her love interest. This then shows my
main actress crying as she performs her song to the camera and audience
along with looking at pictures of herself and her previous partner.
However, I did not stick with this concept as it is again a very basic concept
along with being very negative whilst to me the song is perceived has positive
connotations.

4. This is a performance only concept. It consists of both my actress and love interest to
perform a dance sequence together to ‘Halo.’
If I was to stick with this concept I would use a variety in camera work to stop it being
repetitive along with playing with lighting to give a intimate feel to the audience. I feel
this concept could work as it shows how they love each other whilst fitting to the lyrics of
the song.
However, it is a very basic concept along with it being very difficult for myself to be able
to find a male dancer with the right look for the video.

5. This is both a performance based concept and narrative as I found that I would like to
corporate the two into my product.
• my main actress and her love interest to be sat at home sitting closely around one
another as the main star sings the song to her love interest, this shows intimacy and
that they care for one another (reiterating the lyrics)
• the main actress and love interest will be sat in mid lit room with a projection of
words placed upon each others faces – lyrics from song.
• followed by showing the main star performing alone in the dance studio to the track
whilst having her love interest watch her.
The video will consist of cutting between the three scenes to form the narrative and the
final product.
