The document discusses plans for a music video to accompany the song "Waiting All Night" by Rudimental. It will tell the story of an undiscovered artist struggling to make it in the music industry through rejection but persevering. Key locations include Trafalgar Square to show the performer as an outcast among crowds. A range of characters like judges will reject the main character at auditions. Cinematography will include close-ups of the performer's desperate expressions and long shots of them performing to a crowd at the end, having achieved success.
1. Rudimental- Waiting All Night
These are my chosen locations in which I would like to shoot my music video
because its in unusual places and the video can focus on the performer and
how small a person can be in such a big place e.g.; In Trafalgar's sq. one of
London’s main attraction tourists like to go sightseeing and take pictures,
everyone does their own thing, no one is by themselves or lonely. My
performer will just be walking through by themselves showing he or she is an
outcast.
This is based on the narrative of my story for the music video. I want it to
show all the struggles and hassle that someone has to go through to
accomplish something they want in this case and un-discovered artist that
keeps getting rejected but doesn’t give up and eventually makes it in the
music industry. I want it to show how the performer got to where he or she
is now in their career.
My music videos is going to be based on one person which is the main
character and performer but I will also have a range of characters that will fit
in with my story for example some judges that will turn down or reject the
main character at an audition and other characters such as a crowd which I
will decided on for different scenes majority of which being the public.
I would like my main character to wear casual clothes like to have a trendy
type of look to them during the narrative scenes of the music video changing
costumes in different locations we shoot at. As well as the performance side
to the song which still links into the narrative I would like my performer to
wear flashy clothes with bright colours as performers in this generation now
do, I want to show the viewers that my main character has changed and
become a highly known person and is wealthy with fancy clothes.
My music video will have a range of different shot types for example during
the repetition bit of the song which is mainly the chorus ill have my main
character in a close up looking desperate using clear facial expressions and
towards the ends ill have more long shots of my character performing on
stage or in a crowd of people. I’d also like to use some blurred and colour
filters and flashes of different scenes in the last verse of the song to show
the difference between the main character to before and after.
