8. Can IE student move to this filed?
◦ To become a data scientist or a data analyst you need three areas of
knowledge, Computer and IT, Math and STATISTICS and
Domain/Business Knowledge.
◦ Most IE programs have all of them. What is only missing learning more
suitable software that suits this domain (will be provided in following
slides).
◦ I won’t expect any IE program to cover these software tools, however
plenty of online courses exist.
◦ Also if you are interested, try to find training or an internship in this
field.
