And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. The Story of Ahikar, folktale of Babylonian or Persian origin, about a wise and moral man who supposedly served as one of the chief counselors of Sennacherib, king of Assyria (704–681 bc). Like the biblical Job, Ahikar was a prototype of the just man whose righteousness was sorely tested and ultimately rewarded by God.
(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:1,3,14

2. BAB 1
Putra ketujuh dari Yakub dan Bilha. Yang
cemburu. Dia menasihati agar tidak marah
dengan mengatakan bahwa "itu memberikan
penglihatan yang aneh." Ini adalah tesis
penting tentang kemarahan.
1 Salinan perkataan Dan, yang
diucapkannya kepada anak-anaknya pada
hari-hari terakhirnya, pada tahun keseratus
dua puluh lima hidupnya.
2 Karena dia mengumpulkan keluarganya,
dan berkata: Dengarkanlah kata-kataku, hai
putra-putra Dan; dan perhatikanlah
perkataan ayahmu.
3 Saya telah membuktikan kebenaran itu
dalam hati saya dan sepanjang hidup saya
dengan berbuat adil adalah baik dan
menyenangkan Tuhan, dan kebohongan
serta kemarahan adalah kejahatan, karena
mengajarkan manusia segala kejahatan.
4 Oleh karena itu, pada hari ini aku
mengaku kepadamu, anak-anakku, bahwa
dalam hatiku aku bertekad untuk membunuh
Yusuf, saudaraku, orang yang benar dan
baik. .
5Dan aku bersukacita karena dia dijual,
karena ayahnya lebih menyayanginya
daripada kami.
6 Karena roh iri hati dan kesombongan
berkata kepadaku: Engkau sendiri juga
adalah putranya.
7 Dan salah satu roh Beliar menggugah aku,
berkata: Ambillah pedang ini, dan dengan
itu bunuhlah Yusuf: demikianlah ayahmu
akan mencintaimu ketika dia mati.
8 Nah, roh kemarahan inilah yang
membujukku untuk meremukkan Yusuf
seperti macan tutul meremukkan anak kecil.
9 Tetapi Allah nenek moyangku tidak
membiarkan dia jatuh ke dalam tanganku,
sehingga aku menemukan dia sendirian dan
membunuhnya, dan menyebabkan suku
kedua di Israel binasa.
10 Dan sekarang, anak-anakku, lihatlah aku
sedang sekarat, dan aku mengatakan
kepadamu sebuah kebenaran, bahwa jika
kamu tidak menjaga dirimu dari roh
kebohongan dan kemarahan, dan mencintai
kebenaran dan kesabaran, kamu akan binasa.
11 Sebab kemarahan adalah kebutaan, dan
tidak membiarkan seseorang melihat wajah
siapa pun dengan jujur.
12 Sebab meskipun ayah atau ibunya, dia
memperlakukan mereka seperti musuh;
meskipun dia seorang saudara, dia tidak
mengenalnya; meskipun dia seorang nabi
Tuhan, dia tidak menaatinya; meskipun dia
orang yang saleh, dia tidak memandangnya;
meskipun seorang teman, dia tidak
mengakuinya.
13 Karena roh amarah melingkupi dia
dengan jaring tipu daya, dan membutakan
matanya, dan melalui kebohongan
menggelapkan pikirannya, dan memberinya
penglihatan yang khas.
14 Dan dengan apa menutupi matanya?
Dengan kebencian hati, sehingga iri pada
saudaranya.
15 Sebab kemarahan adalah sesuatu yang
jahat, anak-anakku, karena kemarahan itu
menyusahkan bahkan jiwa itu sendiri.
16 Dan tubuh orang yang marah dijadikan
miliknya, dan atas jiwanya ia mendapat
penguasaan, dan ia menganugerahkan
kepada tubuh itu kekuatan agar ia dapat
melakukan segala kejahatan.
17 Dan apabila tubuh melakukan semua hal
ini, maka jiwa membenarkan perbuatannya,
karena ia memandangnya tidak benar.
18 Oleh karena itu dia yang pemarah, jika
dia adalah orang yang perkasa, mempunyai
tiga kekuatan dalam kemarahannya: satu
melalui bantuan hamba-hambanya; dan
yang kedua karena kekayaannya, yang
dengannya ia membujuk dan mengalahkan
secara zalim; dan ketiga, dengan memiliki
kekuatan alaminya sendiri, ia melakukan
kejahatan.
19 Dan meskipun manusia yang pemarah itu
lemah, namun ia memiliki kekuatan dua kali
lipat dari kekuatan alaminya; karena murka
selalu membantu orang-orang yang
melakukan pelanggaran hukum.
3. 20 Semangat ini selalu menyertai
kebohongan di sebelah kanan Setan, agar
perbuatannya dapat dilakukan dengan
kekejaman dan kebohongan.
21 Oleh karena itu, ketahuilah, betapa
kuatnya murka, bahwa itu sia-sia.
22 Sebab pertama-tama ia menimbulkan
provokasi melalui kata-kata; kemudian
dengan perbuatannya hal itu menguatkan
orang yang sedang marah, dan dengan
kehilangan yang tajam mengganggu
pikirannya, sehingga membangkitkan
amarah yang besar dalam jiwanya.
23 Oleh karena itu, ketika ada orang.
berbicara menentang kamu, janganlah kamu
tergerak oleh kemarahan, dan jika ada orang
yang memuji kamu sebagai orang suci,
janganlah kamu berbesar hati: janganlah
kamu tergerak untuk senang atau merasa
jijik.
24 Pertama-tama, hal itu menyenangkan
pendengaran, dan dengan demikian
membuat pikiran tajam untuk melihat
alasan-alasan yang menjadi alasan untuk
melakukan provokasi; dan kemudian karena
marah, dia berpikir bahwa dia memang
marah.
25 Jika kamu mengalami kerugian atau
kehancuran, anak-anakku, janganlah
menderita; karena semangat ini membuat
manusia menginginkan apa yang fana, agar
dia menjadi marah karena penderitaan.
26 Dan jika kamu menderita kerugian secara
sukarela, atau tanpa disengaja, janganlah
jengkel; karena dari kekesalan timbullah
murka karena kebohongan.
27 Selain itu, dua jenis kejahatan adalah
kemarahan karena kebohongan; dan mereka
saling membantu hingga mengganggu hati;
dan ketika jiwa terus-menerus diganggu,
Tuhan menjauh darinya, dan Beliar
berkuasa atasnya.
BAB 2
Nubuatan tentang dosa, pembuangan,
wabah penyakit, dan pemulihan akhir
bangsa. Mereka masih berbicara tentang
Eden (Lihat Ayat 18). Ayat 23 sungguh luar
biasa jika dilihat dari sudut pandang
nubuatan.
1 Oleh karena itu, anak-anakku, patuhi
perintah-perintah Tuhan, dan patuhi hukum-
Nya; menjauhlah dari murka dan benci
kebohongan, agar Tuhan diam di antara
kamu dan Beliar lari darimu.
2 Bicarakanlah kebenaran masing-masing
kepada tetangganya. Maka janganlah kamu
jatuh ke dalam murka dan kebingungan;
tetapi kamu akan hidup dalam damai
sejahtera, mempunyai Allah damai sejahtera,
dan tidak ada peperangan yang akan
menguasai kamu.
3 Kasihilah Tuhan sepanjang hidupmu, dan
kasihilah satu sama lain dengan hati yang
tulus.
4 Aku tahu bahwa pada hari-hari terakhir
kamu akan menjauh dari Tuhan, dan kamu
akan membangkitkan kemarahan Lewi, dan
berperang melawan Yehuda; tetapi kamu
tidak akan dapat mengalahkan mereka,
karena malaikat Tuhan akan membimbing
mereka berdua; karena di dekat merekalah
Israel akan berdiri.
5 Dan setiap kali kamu menjauh dari Tuhan,
kamu akan berjalan dalam segala kejahatan
dan melakukan kekejian bangsa-bangsa
bukan Yahudi, menjadi pelacur terhadap
perempuan-perempuan pelanggar hukum,
sedangkan roh-roh jahat bekerja di dalam
kamu dengan segala kejahatan.
6 Sebab aku telah membaca dalam kitab
Henokh, orang benar, bahwa pangeranmu
adalah Setan, dan bahwa semua roh
kejahatan dan kesombongan akan
bersekongkol untuk terus-menerus
menyerang anak-anak Lewi, untuk
menyebabkan mereka berdosa di hadapan
Tuhan.
7 Dan anak-anakku akan mendekati Lewi,
dan berbuat dosa bersama mereka dalam
segala hal; dan anak-anak Yehuda akan
tamak, menjarah harta benda orang lain
seperti singa.
4. 8 Oleh karena itu kamu akan digiring
bersama-sama dengan mereka ke dalam
pembuangan, dan di sana kamu akan
menerima segala malapetaka di Mesir, dan
segala kejahatan bangsa-bangsa bukan
Yahudi.
9 Dan apabila kamu kembali kepada Tuhan
kamu akan memperoleh rahmat, dan Dia
akan membawa kamu ke dalam tempat suci-
Nya, dan Dia akan memberi kamu
kedamaian.
10 Dan akan muncul bagimu dari suku
Yehuda dan suku Lewi keselamatan dari
Tuhan; dan dia akan berperang melawan
Beliar.
11 Dan melakukan pembalasan abadi
terhadap musuh-musuh kita; dan tawanan
itu akan diambilnya dari Beliar jiwa orang-
orang kudus, dan mengarahkan hati yang
tidak taat kepada Tuhan, dan memberikan
kepada mereka yang berseru kepada-Nya
kedamaian abadi.
12 Dan orang-orang kudus akan beristirahat
di Eden, dan di Yerusalem Baru orang-
orang benar akan bersukacita, dan itu akan
menjadi kemuliaan Allah selama-lamanya.
13 Dan Yerusalem tidak akan lagi
mengalami kehancuran, dan Israel juga
tidak akan ditawan; karena Tuhan akan
berada di tengah-tengahnya [hidup di antara
manusia], dan Yang Mahakudus Israel akan
memerintah atasnya dengan kerendahan hati
dan kemiskinan; dan siapa yang percaya
kepada-Nya akan memerintah di antara
manusia dalam kebenaran.
14 Dan sekarang, takutlah akan Tuhan,
anak-anakku, dan waspadalah terhadap
Setan dan rohnya.
15 Mendekatlah kepada Tuhan dan kepada
malaikat yang menjadi perantara bagimu,
karena dialah perantara antara Tuhan dan
manusia, dan demi perdamaian Israel dia
akan berdiri melawan kerajaan musuh.
16 Oleh karena itu musuh sangat ingin
menghancurkan semua yang berseru kepada
Tuhan.
17 Sebab dia mengetahui bahwa pada hari
ketika Israel bertobat, kerajaan musuh akan
berakhir.
18 Sebab malaikat perdamaianlah yang akan
menguatkan Israel, sehingga mereka tidak
jatuh ke dalam ekstremnya kejahatan.
19 Dan akan terjadi pada masa kedurhakaan
Israel, Tuhan tidak akan meninggalkan
mereka, tetapi akan mengubah mereka
menjadi suatu bangsa yang melakukan
kehendak-Nya, karena tidak ada satu pun
malaikat yang dapat menandingi Dia.
20 Dan nama-Nya akan ada di mana-mana
di Israel dan di antara orang-orang bukan
Yahudi.
21 Oleh karena itu, anak-anakku,
peliharalah dirimu dari segala perbuatan
jahat, dan buanglah murka dan segala
kebohongan, dan cintailah kebenaran dan
kepanjangsabaran.
22 Dan hal-hal yang telah kamu dengar dari
ayahmu, kamu sampaikan juga kepada
anak-anakmu agar Juruselamat bangsa-
bangsa bukan Yahudi dapat menerima kamu;
karena dia benar dan panjang sabar, lemah
lembut dan rendah hati, dan melalui
perbuatannya dia mengajarkan hukum Allah.
23 Oleh karena itu, menjauhlah dari segala
kejahatan, dan berpegang teguh pada
kebenaran Allah, maka bangsamu akan
diselamatkan selama-lamanya.
24 Dan kuburkan aku di dekat nenek
moyangku.
25 Dan setelah dia mengatakan hal-hal ini
dia menciumnya, dan tertidur pada usia
lanjut.
26 Dan anak-anaknya menguburkan dia, dan
setelah itu mereka mengangkat tulang-
tulangnya, dan menempatkannya di dekat
Abraham, dan Ishak, dan Yakub.
27 Meskipun demikian, Dan bernubuat
kepada mereka bahwa mereka akan
melupakan Allah mereka, dan akan
diasingkan dari tanah warisan mereka, dari
ras Israel, dan dari keluarga benih mereka.
