Some simplified slides I developed to use in briefings and discussions about “data sharing” and the “data sharing” provisions in the Digital Economy Bill (now Digital Economy Act)
Presentation by George Roberts on 'Who and how am I online? Personal identity management for professional development – from the end-user’s perspective' at the LLLWFD ID Management assembly, Birmingham, May 2011
Topic: Privacy: Billion-Dollar Companies Built on YOU
Speaker: Chris Clausen
This discussion will cover data privacy, how we should define it, and topics such as anonymity, corporate accountability, and more.
-----------------
Privacy – a loaded term open to varying scope and definition, yet evoking a very specific emotional response in most of us when we think about our own privacy, the associated rights we expect, and the risks we worry about.
Be it wanting ‘connectedness’ via social media, the growing ubiquity of voice assistant apps (they’re always on and monitoring our utterances) and IoT devices, or algorithms that assimilate our every click and swipe to deliver optimized media and shopping recommendations, consumers are trading privacy for convenience.
In the established ‘give-to-get’ model between billion-dollar companies and consumers, the typical consumer does not have true transparency/understanding of how their personal data is being used and exchanged, let alone know their rights and options regarding their personal data. Further, is this data truly being anonymized (cannot be traced back to real-world individuals) and protected from meddling nation-states and bad actors?
As technology leaders, what is our fiduciary responsibility? What could our role be in both giving consumers more control, while driving the industry to better protect their information?
The Internet of Things is an emerging topic of technical, social, and economic significance. Consumer products, durable goods, cars and trucks, industrial and utility components, sensors, and other everyday objects are being combined with Internet connectivity and powerful data analytic capabilities that promise to transform the way we work, live, and play. Projections for the impact of IoT on the Internet and economy are impressive, with some anticipating as many as 100 billion connected IoT devices and a global economic impact of more than $11 trillion by 2025.
There are lots of avenues for communication with most teams already. What we need to improve is the quality of the communication we have.
This presentation looks at two methods + models for considering communication and delivering high quality feedback.

Various government bodies, organizations, associations and agencies have been involved in IG discussion at different names and forms.
Right before APrIGF 2016, some of major stakeholders (DoIT, ISOC Nepal, FDE, ISPAN and IOE) had a meeting at Department of Information Technology on conducting a full stakeholder’s meeting for wider consultation. An informal meeting with IGF MAG Chair Lynn St. Amour, and NRI’s focal Anja Genjo was held during ICANN 57 [5th November 2016] in Hyderabad, India.

Jadi infrastruktur TI berjalan diatas infrastruktur publik seperti listrik, gedung dll. Dalam infrastruktur TI dapat dilihat tidak hanya terdiri dari perngakta keras tapi juga terdiri dari perangkat lunak seperti OS, aplikasi middleware dan database.
Kecenderungan infrastruktur semakin hari semakin merambat naik.

Critical Analysis of Technology Law in India with Reference to Foreign Mechanismijtsrd
During the past few decades, we have witness some of the most exponential growth in our field of technology, whether it is a matter of law, social framework, economic or any other manner in which it has intersected various disciplines. Starting from the UN General Assembly Resolution leading to the approval of the Information Technology Act, further leading to the enactment of the Modern Electronic Trade Law. In reference to which we observed that how the right to privacy modified by the growth of information technology, and after which the technology has changed its contents for the protection of their legal interests. In this technologically evolved world, data is the new currency. As India, has no comprehensive data protection legislation and privacy legislation. The existing policies and laws are, in essence, sectoral in nature. These Sectoral Laws pertain to the IT Law, 2000. It is also observed that how the amendment to the Information Technology Act which entered into force in February 2009 with the presidential assent, has made a crucial impact in India in reference to the IT Laws, stated that information confidentiality constitutes as a part of our privacy right and stated that confidentiality included the right to preserve the personal identify. June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

11. 4rd CSOs Discussion (14/02/2013)
Alternative Main Themes Proposed by CSOs
to The Multistakeholders Formal Meeting:
• Internet Governance Towards Information Society through
Multistakeholders Participation
• Internet Governance to Accelerate The Achievement of Millennium
Development Goals 2015
• Internet Governance to Achieve Sustainable Development through
People’s Participation
Several alternative main themes formulated by
noting previous IGFs main theme as well as the 7
selected IGF key issues by CSOs.
12. "Internet Governance Multistakeholders towards Information Society through Participation“
The multi-stakeholder participation in the process of Internet governance requires a brief overview of the
concept of government itself, which offers a theoretical framework for the changes that have occurred in
recent decades, such as the plurality actors involved in the political process and the importance of soft
power in the international scheme. Governance can be understood as the formation and operation of
joint "rules of the game", which defines the actors and their responsibilities, both in collaboration towards
a common goal and in resolving any disputes that arise. Governance arrangements are often translated
into a partnership between state and non-state actors.
"Internet Governance to Accelerate the Achievement of the
Millennium Development Goals 2015“
In year 2000 Indonesia with other countries committed to
achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), an
objective measure for development and poverty alleviation.
Internet, as a technology that has been proven to accelerate
economic growth and fulfillment of human rights becomes a
very relevant issue in the fulfillment of the MDGs. MDGs are
not just for Indonesia. The issue of the MDGs is to be the
benchmark for all the countries involved in the Internet
Governance Forum. This issue is particularly relevant because
in the near future there will be an evaluation to see the
“achievement of the MDGs throughout the world.
Internet Governance to Achieve Sustainable Development through People's Participation"
The term sustainable development is about finding a balanced way that allows the inclusion of economic and social
welfare of the environment and allow the next generation to ensure the development remains. Sustainable
development is also associated with the rich and poor, north and south relations. A healthy dialogue between the three
entities; government, civil society and the private sector can certainly contribute to solving environmental problems and
human good in developed countries. Internet Governance and the forum is a momentum to stimulate dialogue on issues
that arise as the development of technology and the internet.
13. ID-IGF Multistakeholders Formal Meeting (18/02/2013)

Council and Foreign Affairs Ministry), Private Sectors

2. Internet Safety (emphasized by
Ministry of ICT and the private sectors)
3. Multistakeholders (emphasized by
CSOs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
