The Three Types Of Cheerleaders
No matter what type of cheerleader you are, all cheerleaders have the same role. A cheerleader s main role is to
motivate the crowd. Being a cheerleader has many different meanings, such as sideline, competitive, and college.
Whenever you hear the word cheerleader, you probably think of a image of a little girl yelling and jumping on the
sidelines at a football game; however, this is only one type of a cheerleader. The three types of cheerleaders are high
school cheerleaders, all star cheerleaders, and college cheerleaders. They are all different in many ways which include
different venues, skill levels, and benefits.
High school cheerleading is where all the fun begins. The venues are usually held at a football field or a basketball
court. At high school football and basketball games the crowds are generally smaller than at a college game. Most
cheerleading teams are required to attend a cheer camp in the summer. Depending on which cheer camp you attend,
venues can vary from the beach to a college or even your own high school. Some high school cheerleading teams are
allowed to compete competitively against other cheerleading teams. These cheerleading teams get to experience
cheerleading competitions. The cheerleading competitions consist of many cheer mats, lots of judges, and huge
crowds. On the other hand, skill level in high school cheerleading is not quite as elite as all star or college
cheerleading. Most high school cheerleading teams do not require a back handspring, but there are some cheerleading
teams that do require a standing back handspring or a standing tuck. When stunting in high school, certain stunts are
illegal, such as basket tosses with flips or flipping in a pyramid without someone holding onto the middle flyer. Also,
in pyramids everyone must be connected. There are many benefits you get from high school cheerleading that include
learning teamwork, leadership skills, and discipline. Also some cheerleading teams get the opportunity to compete at
the National Cheerleading Championship. The National Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious
cheerleading competition in the country. This competition is held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and it is also
nationally

Analyse Negative Consequences And Reinforcement
4. List master teacher s rules for student behavior (in addition to procedures):
Students are required to listen to what the teacher says at all times. Before going to the teacher with a problem with a
fellow student, they have to work it out first. However, the younger grades usually go to the teacher first; however, the
teacher will tell them to work it out. This ends up working the majority of the time, though there are times when the
teacher needs to step in.
5. Evaluate positive consequences and reinforcement (positive rewards) used:
If a student worked hard and tried their best, they got to put a sticker on their chart. Once they get a certain amount, a
student earns a prize.

Effects Of Parental Addiction On Children
THE EFFECTS PARENTAL ADDICTIONS HAVE ON CHILDREN
Alexis Holcomb
The cost of alcohol and substance abuse in the United States reaches heights of four hundred eighty four billion dollars
per year ( Magnitude ). That s about seven hundred eighty times the amount it cost to diagnose and treat sexually
transmitted diseases in the year 2000 (Chesson). The sole purpose of this is not to persuade you one way or the other
on this topic. Nor is the purpose to apologize for this social issue. The purpose of this writing is to employ data
showing the societal effects parental addictions have on children, to show how this data has remained relevant in
society, and to show how it is affecting our future members of society.
In this paper, I look at forms of substance abuse and the effects on children. I will be using the following headings to
break down the different issues associated with this social problem: social causes, phenomenon, and consequences. I
hope to educate those that may be ignorant to the situation, and help to spark a flame that can be used to not be a
bystander, but a solution to the problem at hand.
Social Causes
An estimated twenty five percent of youth under eighteen are exposed to familial alcohol abuse (Bellum). The Illinois
Department of Human Services says that nearly six hundred seventy five thousand children per year suffer serious
abuse or neglect as a direct result of substance abuse ( Children ). What makes this a big problem in society?

Analysis Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights
Art is all around us and whether we notice it or not we are always evaluating, deconstructing, and deciding on if we
like it or not. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych done in the Renaissance period. A
triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different panels and are hinged together side by side. I first came
across this painting in my art history class in high school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and
the overall meaning that it had. Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as
much more than a picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always seemed interesting and
intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the colors are very monochrome but yet look vivid
and life like, and it has a very deep meaning with the themes of mortality, sin, and shows the end results for evil
doings. The triptych has three different panels and all three have their own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and
both left and right sections are shut you see the world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the uppermost left corner of
the closed sections you can see a depiction of God looking down at the world with an open book in his hands. The first
one on the left tells the story of how God introduced Adam to Eve. They are shown to be in a beautiful and surreal
looking location which is thought to be paradise. Adam, Eve, and God

How Do Oaths And Agreements Make Feudalism Work
Oaths and agreements make feudalism work. Oaths are used to create a functioning feudal system. The structure of the
feudal system is a network of social relationships such as oaths, obligations, vows, and promises (Smith 1). Feudal
ceremonies is when a man becomes a vassal of a Lord ( Feudal System ). Knights maintained loyalty to a Lord to get
land (Norris). Oaths are made in public and holy oaths are even made in a church (Smith 2). Knights make two oaths
one is a vassal recognized superior status and power of feudal Lord. A second oath is of loyalty (Smith 2). The vassal
promises to be loyal and fight for Lord ( Feudal System ) and the Lord promises to treat the vassal with honor ( Feudal
System ). That is how oaths make

Relationship Between Jason And Medea In Jesmyn Ward s...
In the book Salvage the Bones, by Jesmyn Ward, there is a parallel storyline between Esch s life and the ancient myth
of Jason and Medea. Throughout the book, Esch constantly compares herself with Medea, while referring to Manny as
Jason. Both Esch and Medea are forced to cope with the fact that the two people whom they loved and cherished most
in the world have deceived them. As Esch s character comes of age throughout the book, her decreasing dependency
on Manny helps her gain strength, just as Medea did once she realized the depth of Jason s betrayal. Although the
relationship of Jason and Medea mirrors that of Esch and Manny in some important ways, Esch s story ends better
because she has the strong support of love of her family behind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Luckily for Esch, not only did she have three loving brothers, but she also had all of her brother s friends, whom
looked after her like she was their little sister. After Hurricane Katrina had ended, Esch had a chat with her dad, in
which he was convinced that Esch should keep the baby. This made her more confident, to know that she had not only
her brother s approval, but also her father s approval (247). Esch s family and friends are accepting of her pregnancy,
and they all even offer to help take care of her and the baby, in hopes that this baby will be the miracle which will
bring the family together. After this conversation with her dad, Big Henry also confronts her about this conversation,
which he has accidentally listened on. He asked her Who the daddy? , and when she cautiously replies with It don t
have no daddy , he caringly replies to her You wrong...this baby got multiple daddies , which shows that even though
he isn t a part of the family, he is implying that he will assist in raising the baby, along with her real family (254).
Medea is not as fortunate as Esch. After being betrayed by Jason, she had no one to turn to, not even her own family.
So, to take revenge on Jason, she resorts to murdering all of their children, and even his new bride, leaving him with
no one, the way that he left her. Esch and Medea are constantly compared, but this is the one

sports stadium financing in the 1990s Essay
INTRODUCTION
The sentiment can be heard in any office break room, local tavern, or play field. The utter discontent of the increasing
cost of attending professional sporting events. Distain ranges from players salaries to cost of parking and concessions.
One local newscaster, channel 5 in Chicago, Illinois April, 2003, reports that for a family of four to attend a major
league baseball game on opening day costs between $160 and $200 dollars.
The precursor to this cost was a decade of skyrocketing salaries and the trend to build huge public ally financed
megaplexis to house these professional athletes. The current response to this ostentatious decade is to put forth bills to

Why Is Assisted Suicide Legalized
If Assisted Suicide was to become a law that the states can use it a lot of people with illnesses would die. This means
that their family member would be in great grief to find that their family member decided that they wanted to die. The
problem is that patients of doctors with illnesses might choose to die if Assisted Suicide is legalized in the States. A
possible solution that could occur is that it could become illegal in the States, so that patients could not make a rash
decision to kill themselves with drugs. Another possible solution could be that they could only make the decision if
their family members and relatives agree. Also, they could only choose this with relative approval if they are 18 or
older. If Assisted Suicide is legalized, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A possible solution to assisted suicide would be to stop it in every state in the US. This helps this issue by stopping
people from giving them the choice of assisted suicide. Which would lead to less deaths from this issue.
Using lethal drugs to kill someone should be illegal in the US. Another, possible solution for this could be to not use
drugs to kill someone without any direction on self administration. This helps this issue by not killing patients with
drugs at their own home. This also helps people try to survive their terminal illness instead of just giving up.
If assisted suicide becomes a law that is legalized that doctors and physicians patients will die if they choose to.
Assisted suicide means a situation in which a physician provides the means of death for a gravely ill patient but the
patient takes the final step. This is a problem because it s killing patients with lethal drugs or killing patients with
Euthanasia. Some solutions are to stop this in the US or give them hope to make them want to live. This is not a
situation to be taken lightly this should be stopped because if it is not than people will die by doctors that are supposed
to help people survive. People should help stop this with the rest of the protestors. People should help save a live from
a person with terminal illnesses, they should help save a family from

The Modal Model Of Memory
The modal model of memory was initially introduced by Richard Atkinson and Richard Shiffrin (1968) because they
believed that once data enters the brain it must either be contained or put away. They additionally recommended that
data is kept into three particular memory frameworks i.e. the sensory register, short term memory and long term
memory. This model was developed to clarify the process of our memory, its capacity and how long the memory is
able to hold a data.
Furthermore, they carried out a multi score model which described memory in terms of information flowing via
systems and this research was successful in terms of the amount of research it consisted of. As a result, of this
Baddeley and Hitch (1974) developed an alternative model of short term memory which was also known as the
working memory.
The modal model memory is an explanation as to how the memory process functions, although William James (1890)
justified a dissimilarity amid the primary and secondary memory because primary memory comprised of thoughts
which held for a short term in consciousness, whereas the secondary memory consisted of a permanent unconscious
store.
The sensory memory gathers data via our senses, ears, eyes, mouth and due to this information only remains in store
for a very small amount time, thus the model suggests that if consideration is given to the senses then the memory
exchanges to the short term capacity. An evidence of the sensory store was provided by Sperling (1960); as

Why Are Myths Still Relevant To Today
Myths still endure today, because it sets a moral cod, explains natural phenomenon, and entertains the reader. One
reason mythology sill endures is because it sets a moral code for future people to follow. For example in the story
Achene, the wise goddess Athena turns Arachne into a arachnid, because Arachne was being very cocky, arrogant, and
rude, cause Athena to kick Arachne off her high horse . Athena tells Arachne to live on wicked girl, live on and spin
you and your decedents (Coolidge 51). A second reason mythology is still relevant is because is explains natural
phenomenon. For example in the story Pandora, Curiosity truly kills the cat because Pandora opens a do not open box,
which releases all the terrible things in this world,

Alexander Mcqueen Research Paper
Alexander McQueen is still known for his unique designs even after he s death. He was born in London, England on
March 17th 1969.
His fashion career started at the ripe age of 16, when he started working on Savile Row Street in London s Mayfair
district. There, he was employed with the tailor shop Anderson and Shephard, and then Gieves and Hawkes. After a
while, he began working with costume designers Angels and Bermans, where his work would be trademarked later in
his life.
At a very young age, Alexander was offered three apprenticeships that all consisted in construction of clothing. While
he was doing this work, he learned and mastered 6 methods of pattern cutting that were used in the 16th century.
Designer Koji Tatsuno employed him and a year later he was employed as Romeo Gigli s design assistant. ... Show

Two tragedies struck McQueen, one in 2007, when close friends Isabella Blow committed suicide. Her death was the
most valuable thing I learnt in fashion and it was for this reason that he dedicated his 2008 Spring/Summer line. The
second one occurred a couple of years later, when McQueen s mother died. A few days later, after her shocking death
McQueen himself was found dead in his apartment, the cause of death being suicide.
Sarah Burton, co designer in McQueen s company, became the new creative director after McQueen s death. McQueen

Drawing thought two of his poems, I am going to point out the way he uses language ,
The S. Lucian poet, for a long time, tried to show the importance of his being hybrid . In one of the most famous and
early poem A Far Cry From Africa , he ended this poem with a sequence of question regarded his roots, his being

Bartleby Personality
Before the advent of Bartleby, the lawyer was only concerned with himself. The lawyer s ego is revealed when he

to label and claim everything as his possession. The lawyer s self interest is so overly developed that he is completely
incurious of the world and the people around him. In his final summation of his employee he remarks, But with all his
failings, and the annoyances he caused me, Nippers, like his compatriot Turkey, was a very useful man to me (Melville

and annoyances. Other people serve no purpose besides their usefulness to him.
At first the lawyer attempts to make Bartleby like his other employees. He focuses on the positives of Bartleby s
personality and decides that those attributes made him a valuable acquisition (Melville 7). The lawyer tries to turn
Bartleby into a possession that is defined by his purpose to him. However, Bartleby remains an incurable enigma with
his mantra I would prefer not to and forces the lawyer to seek knowledge about someone else for the first time. When
the lawyer discovers that Bartleby has been living in his office, he begins to muse on the loneliness of Bartleby:

Comparison Of Safety Last ! And Sherlock Jr.
Safety Last! and Sherlock Jr.
Safety Last! (1923), directed by Fred C. Newmeyer and Sam Taylor, and Sherlock Jr. (1924), directed by Buster
Keaton, have parallels not only between their genres, but their approach to comedy. They both contain a main
character with a dream of becoming someone better. Both films being comedies, means the men must face a few
challenges and struggles before accomplishing their goals. Sight gags portray these struggles in a very humorous way.
Silent films could not depend on dialogue to deliver all of the humorous elements, so drastically hilarious sight gags
were the films true success. Each film has talented actors who portray the roles successfully and creatively. Neither of
these films invented the idea of sight gags, but they built upon an already successful foundation. In order to capture

The City Of The Great Metropolis
There was a house in the great Metropolis older than the city. Many said that it was older than the cathedral, and that
before the Archangel Michael raised his voice as advocate in the conflict for God, the house stood there in its evil
gloom, defying the cathedral from out its dull eyes.
The house had lived through the time of smoke and soot. Every year which passed over the city crept, when dying,
into this house, until at last the house was a cemetery filled with dead years.
Set into the black wood of the door stood, copper red and mysterious, the seal of Solomon, the pentagram.
It was said that a magician, who came from the East (and in the track of whom the plague wandered) had built the
house in seven nights. But the masons and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They died, and no doctor knew the illness. The house resisted its destruction with so great a force that word of its
malignity went out over the borders of the city, spreading far over the land. At last, there was no honest man who
would have ventured to make war against the house. Yes, even the thieves and the rogues, who were promised
remission of their sentence provided they declared themselves ready to pull down the magician s house, preferred to go
to the pillory, or even to the scaffold, rather than enter the spiteful walls, past the latchless doors, which were sealed
with Solomon s seal.
The little town around the cathedral became a large town and grew into Metropolis, and into the center of the world.
One day there came to the town a man from far away, who saw the house and said, I want to have that.
He was initiated into the story of the house. He did not smile. He stood by his resolution. He bought the house at a
very low price, moved in at once and kept it unaltered.
This man was named Rotwang. Few knew him. Only Joh Fredersen knew him very well. It would have been easier for
Joh Fredersen to fight out the quarrel about the cathedral with the sect of Gothics than to quarrel with Rotwang about
the magician s house.
In Metropolis, in this city of reasoned, methodical hurry, very many would go far out of their way rather than to pass
close by Rotwang s house. It hardly reached to the knees of the giants standing

Case: Wilkerson Company
In the case, we have review the allocation of overhead by using Traditional Cost Accounting (TCA) and Activity
Based Costing (ABC) in a manufacturing company named Wilkerson. Through the case study, I have learnt the
importance of Cost Accounting System, the principles of TCA and ABC, the advantages and disadvantage of ABC, the
practical use of ABC and cost reduction using ABC.
1. Importance of Cost Accounting System.
Through the case study, I learnt that a proper Cost Accounting System is very important in a company. Without the
accurate system, a company is unable to maximize the profit from the product sold. The product price might be

There are few advantages and disadvantage that I have learnt in the case study as below:
Advantage: ABC accuracy
ABC is more accurate in the cost accounting compare to TCA. With the accurate cost allocation, the company can gain
more advantage in price competition in the market.
Advantage: Break down of cost by activities
During the process of ABC, activities are identified and break down with individual cost. The break down is very
useful to the company to strategies the cost reduction since it will show the largest cost contributor from the operation.
Disadvantage: Cost to have ABC
The ABC need an start up investment in term of cost and resources in collecting data for the analysis hence there is a
cost for the implementation of this method.
4. Practical use of ABC
During the study, I have practiced to calculate the indirect cost with ABC method on each cost driver for different
products. From this, I understand that the indirect cost for different product is distributed in different ratio. For
example, the cost of machining is contributing almost 75% in producing valve but it only contributing 10% for flow
controller. With the info, a company can eventually calculate the more accurate allocation of indirect with respect to
different product and it will help the company to set the selling price more precisely and maximize the profit.
5. Cost reduction using ABC

The Holocaust of 1933 1945, was the systematic killing of millions of European Jews by the National Socialist

Keynesian Theory And Aggregate Demand
THE KEYNESIAN THEORY AND AGGREGATE DEMAND
By Riley Lennon
The great depression in the 1930 s devastated the economic market, but also produced two of the greatest economists
to ever live, John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich August Hayek. Why did the economist John Maynard Keynes
advocate for the government to have an active role with influencing the level of economic activity. This is because
Keynes believes that this will stimulate the economic activity and bring the country out of economic drought. Keynes
theory leads to the government influencing the level of aggregate demand, and how it effects inflation and output.
Although Keynes was known as the greatest economist of this era, there was another economist by the name of
Friedrich Hayek, whose beliefs were completely opposite to those of Keynes. Hayek wanted no government
intervention and for the markets to control themselves.
The Keynesian theory was developed by John Maynard Keynes in attempt to understand the great depression. Keynes
Wanted lower taxes and higher government spending witch both of these methods would stimulate economic activity
and demand in the economic cycle in an attempt to heave the global economy out of financial depression. This
economic theory was only created after the economic boom in the 1920 s. During the 1920 s every economist thought
that it was going to continue forever, this boom was caused by several factors such as lower tax rates which would

Title Ix And Its Impact On Society
A huge thing that has impacted society and especially sport today was the passing of Title IX. It changed the way we
look at sport and how we address it. Title IX is a law that passed in 1972 that requires gender equity for men and
women in all educational programs that receive federal funding (titleix.info). The government showed that they will
not play favorites and that we are all equal before the law (Summers). The passing of this law was a turning point for
women. It impacted women in many areas of life but when most people think of Title IX, sport first comes to mind.
Women had played sports before this time, but did not receive all the same opportunities as men. Women athletic
programs were not provided with the same funds that men sports and female college athletes received only two percent
of overall athletic budgets. There was much less woman participating in sports than men so before Title IX only 1 in
27 girls played high school sports. After Title IX, things drastically changed for women in sports though (titleix.info).
Today there is a question about whether or not Title IX accomplished what it set out to actually accomplish. There are
mixed views on if it was successful. There is no doubt that it has made a huge impact on women sports but has its
faults made the law fail at its attempted mission. Carrie Lukas says, Men s sports teams have been sacrificed in order
to achieve proportionality as demanded by those enforcing Title IX (Lukas). Title IX

The Language Of An Organization Essay
An association without a language specifically used for communicating is unfathomable. Workers in an organization
utilize language to express and empathize with others opinions, maintain communication, take care of issues, learn and
develop, decide, and monitor records. As the globalization of business has made corporations and organizations with
outposts throughout the world, language boundaries have developed into many different issues that would have gone
unnoticed on account of domestic organizations, where representatives impart in their primary language. Given this
globalized business environment, it is crucial for multinational corporations to devise a primarily spoken language.
Throughout most of the world, that primary language used in companies and business is English.
English is a lingua franca, or a common or bridge language as it is often called. Bridge languages are primarily spoken
languages across the world: English, Chinese Mandarin, German, etc. English is the most prominent language spoken,
having 1.5 billion speakers across the world according to Statista, and Mandarin, the secondary language, has a measly
1.1 billion. This major difference in speakers has developed the use of English as a major language in trade. Many
companies are undergoing a process termed Englishization which is the process of making one s company soley

Sexual Violence In Rwanda
I. Introduction
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman and is one of the least
developed countries in the world. A 2011 American Journal of Public Health report found that more than 400,000
women surveyed in 2007 reported that they were raped in the previous twelve months, adding up to 1,150 rapes per
day. In a 2007 survey, 1.69 to 1.80 million women between the ages of fifteen and forty nine reported being raped in
their lifetime. Members of the Congolese army, rebel groups, militias, and other groups continue to use sexual violence
against women and children as a systematic tactic of war to destroy communities. Sexual violence in the DRC is worse
today than in Rwanda during the genocide. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the fact that the DRC ratified the Rome Statute in March 2002, most civilian judges have yet to apply the
provisions. Civilian courts are able to prosecute sexual violence as a domestic crime and the DRC is looking to adopt a
new civilian criminal procedure that would include Rome Statute crimes. UN and NGO reports have long criticized
the DRC for allowing sexual violence to occur. In 1997, after allegations of human rights violations committed against
Rwandan refugees, the UN Human Rights Commission created a joint investigation mission. Despite lack of
cooperation from the DRC, the commission was able to publish a report that linked for the first time the military
carrying out massive sexual violence to serious violations of humanitarian law. In 2002, additional international NGOs
got involved such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. Additionally, in 2007, the UN General
Assembly adopted a resolution to eliminate sexual violence. The Security Council found that sexual violence when
used as a war strategy to intentionally target civilians or as part of a widespread and systematic attack against civilian
populations can significantly exacerbate situations of armed conflict and may impede the restoration of international
peace and security.

Human Geography
I would define human geography as the study of how different factors such as culture, lifestyle, geography, and
environment dictate where humans live and migrate. I believe that it is the story of different people s movement and
activity explained through geography, culture, and other similar stimuli. In How the States Got Their Shapes Stein
explains how different conflicts, landscapes, customs, and beliefs influenced the creation of each state. For example,
the formation of Kansas boarders look simple, but they were not easy to form. In 1854, the Kansas Nebraska Act
allowed for popular soverighty. This allowed the people of each state to decide on the issue of slavery. Kansas was
divided, and a civil war broke out. Borders were pushed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The acquisition of Texas borders were greatly influenced by the Americans who settled there before its statehood, the
Texas Revolution, and the Mexican American War. Many Americans who settled there before 1836 felt that Texas
should be an independent nation. The Republic of Texas gained its independence from Mexico in 1836, but soon after
the United States of America wanted to annex Texas. In 1845, the Republic of Texas officially became a state. After its
admission as a state, it was declared a slave state, which greatly impacted the culture of Texas. Its western border
followed the Rio Grande River, and its eastern border followed the Red River. Its southern border followed the
coastline. Its western border was finalized after the Mexican American War when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
was signed. It stated that the Rio Grande would be Texas western border. This state shows how geography and size of
influences different varieties of people to settle in it. For example, the fertile and vast land attracted many people who
liked the idea of Manifest Destiny. By looking at Texas changing land, you can determine why some people moved to
urban or rural areas or agricultural or industrial lifestyles. The human geography of Texas allows questions of evolving

Response To Marmot s The Status Syndrome
In The Status Syndrome, Marmot argues that socioeconomic conditions lead to a hierarchical health gradient, where
mortality progressively decreases as one s socioeconomic status improves. He illustrates this using mortality rate data
about workers in the British civil service from the Whitehall studies. The studies show that mortality in all age groups
is higher for clerical workers, who earn less and have a lower social standing, as compared to other professionals.
Moreover, administrators, who earn more than both these groups, have the lowest mortality rates, which shows a
gradient in health. Additionally, none of these workers are in poverty, and have access to medical care, which further
highlights that the health gradient is a phenomenon

The And Reference Of Natural Kind Terms
In this paper, I will begin by briefly explaining both what defines a natural kind term and what the description theory
of the meaning and reference of natural kind terms is. I will then proceed to outline Hilary Putman s argument where
his main goal is to defeat the descriptive theory and provide a thesis of that of the following, only one being true, and
not both: knowing the meaning of a term is just a matter of being in a certain psychological state, and that the meaning
of a term determines its extension. Putnam gives two examples to further explain his claim. In regards to his twin earth
thought experiment, he concentrates on the idea that meaning is reference. Building off of the twin earth thought
experiment, he then provides more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So when we are pointing to a dog and call it a Labrador Retriever, we are automatically corresponding the name dog to
the category of Labrador Retrievers. Same goes for water and gold. Usually, natural kind terms are explained by
scientific makeup so water and gold both remain classifications of natural kinds as well. Putnam argues against the
notion that these natural kind terms provide meaning from their description (intension determines extension) while, at
the same time, intensions being concepts through psychological states. Thus, Putnam believes only one can be true at a
time. With this information, we can now further our understanding of this concept of what a natural kind term is by
looking at the theory Putnam intends to defeat.
The Description Theory of the Meaning and Reference of Natural Kind Terms On the surface, the description theory of
the meaning and reference of natural kind terms is simple: that knowing the meaning of a term is just a matter of being
in a certain psychological state of mind, and that the meaning of a term determines its extension. In other words,
intention entails sameness of extension, as Putnam puts it.
Putnam s Argument Hilary Putnam s account of what makes up a natural kind term relies on our definition stated
above, in which he believes natural kind terms hold true in all of nature (this is an important point) through being a
rigid designator, or indexical. He believes that

Essay On Eve s Apology In Defense Of Women
During the Renaissance, citizens were required to worship the delegated belief making it dangerous to be vocal about
your chosen religion. As the Renaissance faded away to a new period of the Enlightenment between the years 1603
and 1800 religious beliefs were pushed to the forefront once again. However, this was also the Age of Reason
therefore the people of the day did not follow blindly, but wanted everything to be rationally proven. Society

A cross tabulation is a two dimensional frequency distribution of two nominal or ordinal variables that records the

Marcus Aemilius Lepidus into a three way dictatorship. This transformed Rome from being a Monarchy into being a
dictatorship. Lepidus left Rome soon after Octavian began reign and went on to lead parts of Africa and Hispania. In
37 B.C. Mary Anthony met Cleopatra. They fell in love and Mark followed her back to Egypt. Octavian took reign
over Rome and obtained the name Augustus Caesar. Mark Anthony and Augustus became enemies and war broke out
between Rome and Egypt. This is one reason for why I believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women gave birth during his shows and some people faked being dead just to be dragged out of it. Some people even
went as far as jumping off the ledge of the theater to their death. These plays would go on for several days without any
breaks. He attempted to set fire to Rome just so he could rebuild the city. In my opinion, the action that Nero is most
known for is for persecuting of Jews. Nero would crucify Jews for spreading Christianity throughout Rome. Nero was
the persecutor of the apostles Paul and Peter. Nero was a violent leader and a leader who was definitely, not beloved.
In conclusion, being a leader that is beloved has a huge effect on being a better leader. For example, Augustus Caesar
was so favored that his name was passed on through all the emperors all the way up to 476A.D. The roman citizen
would hold festivals just in honor of Augustus. They loved Augustus which made Rome a happier place all in all. In
the other hand Nero made Rome become a dark and violent empire. I believe that good rulers always work their
hardest to please their people and have positive influences on them. People want a leader who incurages them and is
always striving to help the empire grow

Stages of Human Nature Essay
the more profoundly a man thinks, the more tenderly he feels, the more highly he rates himself, the greater the distance
grows between him and the other animals the more he appears as the genius among the animals the closer he will get
to the true nature of the world and to a knowledge of it: this he does in fact do through science. ~Friedrich Nietzsche1
Stages of Human Nature Throughout history, human beings have encountered many changes that have altered the way
society has viewed them. The cruel hands of history, which constantly hold the foundation of the mind and the spirit,
have shaped human nature. Knowledge is the tool by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is what history makes him. History keeps him in constant movement. For many people in the early 18th century,
life was based on subsistence living. An individualĂs human nature was dictated by their bloodline and their social
position was secured by birth. If a man was born a peasant, he stayed a peasant, and he died a peasant. This theory of
blood can be summed up in one statement: You are what you bleed. People viewed their environment within the
confines of localism, which is limiting life to a locality, and described it as ĂŹnasty, brutish, and shortĂź because of the
subsistence lifestyle they led in an agrarian, nature based society. An individualĂs inherent qualities, their ways of life,
the very spirit of his nature, were completely encumbered to the process of survival. The individual did not exist to
express their being or their mind. The difficulties of this life led to collectiveness among people of common blood.
Human ingenuity, the desire to be free, and the ability to reason for themselves, instead of living by the divinely
bestowed power of an absolute monarch, did not exist in the first half of the 18th century. Human nature was bland,
oppressed, and uncreative. It was contained within the walls of ancestry, chained by subsistence and localism, and
oppressed by a central rulerĂs power that could not be questioned because of the fear of God. Despite the chains of a
difficult lifestyle that human nature endured,

History of Samsung
1. Samsung History Unlike other electronic companies Samsung origins were not involving electronics but other
products. In 1938 the Samsung s founder Byung Chull Lee set up a trade export company in Korea, selling fish,
vegetables, and fruit to China. Within a decade Samusng had flour mills and confectionary machines and became a co
operation in 1951. Humble beginnings. From 1958 onwards Samsung began to expand into other industries such as
financial, media, chemicals and ship building throughout the 1970 s. In 1969, Samsung Electronics was established
producing what Samsung is most famous for, Televisions, Mobile Phones (throughout 90 s), Radio s, Computer
components and other electronics devices. 1987 founder and chairman, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the largest woolen mill ever in the country and the company took on an aspect of a major company. Samsung s
diversified into many areas and Lee sought to establish Samsung as an industry leader in a wide range of enterprises.
The company started moving into businesses such as insurance, securities, and retail. South Korean President Park
Chung hee s regime during the 1960s and 1970s would prove a boon for Samsung. Park placed great importance on
industrialization, and focused his economic development strategy on a handful of large domestic conglomerates,
protecting them from competition and assisting them financially. Samsung was one of these companies. Park banned
several foreign companies from selling consumer electronics in South Korea in order to protect Samsung from foreign
competition and nurture an electronics manufacturing sector that was in its infancy. In the late 1960s, Samsung Group
began the electronics industry. It formed several electronics related divisions, such as Samsung Electronics Devices
Co., Samsung Electro Mechanics Co., Samsung Corning Co., and Samsung Semiconductor amp; Telecommunications
Co., and made the facility in Suwon. Its first product was a black and white television set. In 1980, the company
acquired Hanguk Jeonja Tongsin in Gumi, and started to build telecommunication devices. Its early products were
switchboards. The facility were developed into the telephone and fax

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polymer Nannocomposites
Polymer composites are the blend of polymers and filler materials. Disadvantages of polymers such as low mechanical
and electronic properties can be improved through reinforcing with much stronger and highly conducting filler
materials. Thus, fabricating polymer composites is of mutual benefit to both polymers and fillers. Furthermore,
advanced desired applications can be tailor made. Also, compared to polymer micro/nanocomposites, polymer
nanocomposites show much more improved properties such as extremely smooth finishing, excellent mechanical and
electrical properties at lower loadings as low as 0.025 volume % (Schandler, Brinson Sawyer 2007). In the current
chapter, both polymer microcomposites and polymer nanocomposites are briefly discussed.
Filler reinforcements are available in various chemical forms, types, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each category has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, thermoplastics soften on heating and
eventually melt like metals (Dyson 1990). The present chapter concentrates on two popular thermoplastics such as
poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) for fabricating conducting polymer
nanocomposites (Kennedy Taylor 1991). Thermosetting polymers are very common types of polymers, widely used
for making conducting polymer composites. Almost 5th of polymers are used are thermosetting polymers as they find
applications as they are used as composites, adhesives, and coatings (Allin 2004) These polymers are also called as
thermosets which do not melt upon heating, cannot regain its shape once it is moulded. Among the three plastics,
polyester is easy to use and very cheap. Vinyl ester shows the best chemical resistance compared to other, and high
mechanical properties than polyester. Epoxy is expensive than vinyl esters. The present report discusses the three types
of thermosets such as epoxy, vinyl ester, and

  • 2. The Three Types Of Cheerleaders No matter what type of cheerleader you are, all cheerleaders have the same role. A cheerleader s main role is to motivate the crowd. Being a cheerleader has many different meanings, such as sideline, competitive, and college. Whenever you hear the word cheerleader, you probably think of a image of a little girl yelling and jumping on the sidelines at a football game; however, this is only one type of a cheerleader. The three types of cheerleaders are high school cheerleaders, all star cheerleaders, and college cheerleaders. They are all different in many ways which include different venues, skill levels, and benefits. High school cheerleading is where all the fun begins. The venues are usually held at a football field or a basketball court. At high school football and basketball games the crowds are generally smaller than at a college game. Most cheerleading teams are required to attend a cheer camp in the summer. Depending on which cheer camp you attend, venues can vary from the beach to a college or even your own high school. Some high school cheerleading teams are allowed to compete competitively against other cheerleading teams. These cheerleading teams get to experience cheerleading competitions. The cheerleading competitions consist of many cheer mats, lots of judges, and huge crowds. On the other hand, skill level in high school cheerleading is not quite as elite as all star or college cheerleading. Most high school cheerleading teams do not require a back handspring, but there are some cheerleading teams that do require a standing back handspring or a standing tuck. When stunting in high school, certain stunts are illegal, such as basket tosses with flips or flipping in a pyramid without someone holding onto the middle flyer. Also, in pyramids everyone must be connected. There are many benefits you get from high school cheerleading that include learning teamwork, leadership skills, and discipline. List master teacher s rules for student behavior (in addition to procedures): Students are required to listen to what the teacher says at all times. Before going to the teacher with a problem with a fellow student, they have to work it out first. However, the younger grades usually go to the teacher first; however, the teacher will tell them to work it out. This ends up working the majority of the time, though there are times when the teacher needs to step in. 5. Effects Of Parental Addiction On Children THE EFFECTS PARENTAL ADDICTIONS HAVE ON CHILDREN Alexis Holcomb The cost of alcohol and substance abuse in the United States reaches heights of four hundred eighty four billion dollars per year ( Magnitude ). That s about seven hundred eighty times the amount it cost to diagnose and treat sexually transmitted diseases in the year 2000 (Chesson). The sole purpose of this is not to persuade you one way or the other on this topic. Nor is the purpose to apologize for this social issue. The purpose of this writing is to employ data showing the societal effects parental addictions have on children, to show how this data has remained relevant in society, and to show how it is affecting our future members of society. In this paper, I look at forms of substance abuse and the effects on children. I will be using the following headings to break down the different issues associated with this social problem: social causes, phenomenon, and consequences. I hope to educate those that may be ignorant to the situation, and help to spark a flame that can be used to not be a bystander, but a solution to the problem at hand. Social Causes An estimated twenty five percent of youth under eighteen are exposed to familial alcohol abuse (Bellum). The Illinois Department of Human Services says that nearly six hundred seventy five thousand children per year suffer serious abuse or neglect as a direct result of substance abuse ( Children ). • 5. Analysis Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights Art is all around us and whether we notice it or not we are always evaluating, deconstructing, and deciding on if we like it or not. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch is a triptych done in the Renaissance period. A triptych is a painting or relief carving that has three different panels and are hinged together side by side. I first came across this painting in my art history class in high school and from then on I loved it due to all the imagery, colors, and the overall meaning that it had. Ever since then this artwork has left a big imprint and got me to think about art as much more than a picture, but to look at it as a whole and analyze it. This painting always seemed interesting and intriguing for a couple of reasons. There are many themes going on, the colors are very monochrome but yet look vivid and life like, and it has a very deep meaning with the themes of mortality, sin, and shows the end results for evil doings. The triptych has three different panels and all three have their own story to tell. When the triptych is closed and both left and right sections are shut you see the world in tones of gray or neutral colors. At the uppermost left corner of the closed sections you can see a depiction of God looking down at the world with an open book in his hands. The first one on the left tells the story of how God introduced Adam to Eve. They are shown to be in a beautiful and surreal looking location which is thought to be paradise. Adam, Eve, and God ... In the book Salvage the Bones, by Jesmyn Ward, there is a parallel storyline between Esch s life and the ancient myth of Jason and Medea. Throughout the book, Esch constantly compares herself with Medea, while referring to Manny as Jason. Both Esch and Medea are forced to cope with the fact that the two people whom they loved and cherished most in the world have deceived them. As Esch s character comes of age throughout the book, her decreasing dependency on Manny helps her gain strength, just as Medea did once she realized the depth of Jason s betrayal. After Hurricane Katrina had ended, Esch had a chat with her dad, in which he was convinced that Esch should keep the baby. This made her more confident, to know that she had not only her brother s approval, but also her father s approval (247). Esch s family and friends are accepting of her pregnancy, and they all even offer to help take care of her and the baby, in hopes that this baby will be the miracle which will bring the family together. After this conversation with her dad, Big Henry also confronts her about this conversation, which he has accidentally listened on. • 10. The Modal Model Of Memory The modal model of memory was initially introduced by Richard Atkinson and Richard Shiffrin (1968) because they believed that once data enters the brain it must either be contained or put away. They additionally recommended that data is kept into three particular memory frameworks i.e. the sensory register, short term memory and long term memory. This model was developed to clarify the process of our memory, its capacity and how long the memory is able to hold a data. Furthermore, they carried out a multi score model which described memory in terms of information flowing via systems and this research was successful in terms of the amount of research it consisted of. As a result, of this Baddeley and Hitch (1974) developed an alternative model of short term memory which was also known as the working memory. The modal model memory is an explanation as to how the memory process functions, although William James (1890) justified a dissimilarity amid the primary and secondary memory because primary memory comprised of thoughts which held for a short term in consciousness, whereas the secondary memory consisted of a permanent unconscious store. The sensory memory gathers data via our senses, ears, eyes, mouth and due to this information only remains in store for a very small amount time, thus the model suggests that if consideration is given to the senses then the memory exchanges to the short term capacity. An evidence of the sensory store was provided by Sperling (1960); as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The house had lived through the time of smoke and soot. Every year which passed over the city crept, when dying, into this house, until at last the house was a cemetery filled with dead years. Keynesian Theory And Aggregate Demand THE KEYNESIAN THEORY AND AGGREGATE DEMAND By Riley Lennon The great depression in the 1930 s devastated the economic market, but also produced two of the greatest economists to ever live, John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich August Hayek. Why did the economist John Maynard Keynes advocate for the government to have an active role with influencing the level of economic activity. This is because Keynes believes that this will stimulate the economic activity and bring the country out of economic drought. Keynes theory leads to the government influencing the level of aggregate demand, and how it effects inflation and output. Although Keynes was known as the greatest economist of this era, there was another economist by the name of Friedrich Hayek, whose beliefs were completely opposite to those of Keynes. Hayek wanted no government intervention and for the markets to control themselves. The Keynesian theory was developed by John Maynard Keynes in attempt to understand the great depression. Keynes Wanted lower taxes and higher government spending witch both of these methods would stimulate economic activity and demand in the economic cycle in an attempt to heave the global economy out of financial depression. This economic theory was only created after the economic boom in the 1920 s. During the 1920 s every economist thought that it was going to continue forever, this boom was caused by several factors such as lower tax rates which would encourage people to ... • 24. Title Ix And Its Impact On Society A huge thing that has impacted society and especially sport today was the passing of Title IX. It changed the way we look at sport and how we address it. Title IX is a law that passed in 1972 that requires gender equity for men and women in all educational programs that receive federal funding (titleix.info). The government showed that they will not play favorites and that we are all equal before the law (Summers). The passing of this law was a turning point for women. It impacted women in many areas of life but when most people think of Title IX, sport first comes to mind. Women had played sports before this time, but did not receive all the same opportunities as men. Women athletic programs were not provided with the same funds that men sports and female college athletes received only two percent of overall athletic budgets. There was much less woman participating in sports than men so before Title IX only 1 in 27 girls played high school sports. After Title IX, things drastically changed for women in sports though (titleix.info). Today there is a question about whether or not Title IX accomplished what it set out to actually accomplish. There are mixed views on if it was successful. There is no doubt that it has made a huge impact on women sports but has its faults made the law fail at its attempted mission. Carrie Lukas says, Men s sports teams have been sacrificed in order to achieve proportionality as demanded by those enforcing Title IX (Lukas). Title IX ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Workers in an organization utilize language to express and empathize with others opinions, maintain communication, take care of issues, learn and develop, decide, and monitor records. A 2011 American Journal of Public Health report found that more than 400,000 women surveyed in 2007 reported that they were raped in the previous twelve months, adding up to 1,150 rapes per day. In a 2007 survey, 1.69 to 1.80 million women between the ages of fifteen and forty nine reported being raped in their lifetime. Despite the fact that the DRC ratified the Rome Statute in March 2002, most civilian judges have yet to apply the provisions. Civilian courts are able to prosecute sexual violence as a domestic crime and the DRC is looking to adopt a new civilian criminal procedure that would include Rome Statute crimes. UN and NGO reports have long criticized the DRC for allowing sexual violence to occur. In 1997, after allegations of human rights violations committed against Rwandan refugees, the UN Human Rights Commission created a joint investigation mission. Despite lack of cooperation from the DRC, the commission was able to publish a report that linked for the first time the military carrying out massive sexual violence to serious violations of humanitarian law. In 2002, additional international NGOs got involved such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. Additionally, in 2007, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to eliminate sexual violence. The Security Council found that sexual violence when used as a war strategy to intentionally target civilians or as part of a widespread and systematic attack against civilian populations can significantly exacerbate situations of armed conflict and may impede the restoration of international peace and security. ... The studies show that mortality in all age groups is higher for clerical workers, who earn less and have a lower social standing, as compared to other professionals. I will then proceed to outline Hilary Putman s argument where his main goal is to defeat the descriptive theory and provide a thesis of that of the following, only one being true, and not both: knowing the meaning of a term is just a matter of being in a certain psychological state, and that the meaning of a term determines its extension. Putnam gives two examples to further explain his claim. In regards to his twin earth thought experiment, he concentrates on the idea that meaning is reference. So when we are pointing to a dog and call it a Labrador Retriever, we are automatically corresponding the name dog to the category of Labrador Retrievers. Same goes for water and gold. Usually, natural kind terms are explained by scientific makeup so water and gold both remain classifications of natural kinds as well. Putnam argues against the notion that these natural kind terms provide meaning from their description (intension determines extension) while, at the same time, intensions being concepts through psychological states. Thus, Putnam believes only one can be true at a time. With this information, we can now further our understanding of this concept of what a natural kind term is by looking at the theory Putnam intends to defeat. The Description Theory of the Meaning and Reference of Natural Kind Terms On the surface, the description theory of the meaning and reference of natural kind terms is simple: that knowing the meaning of a term is just a matter of being in a certain psychological state of mind, and that the meaning of a term determines its extension. In other words, intention entails sameness of extension, as Putnam puts it. Samsung s diversified into many areas and Lee sought to establish Samsung as an industry leader in a wide range of enterprises. The company started moving into businesses such as insurance, securities, and retail. South Korean President Park Chung hee s regime during the 1960s and 1970s would prove a boon for Samsung. Park placed great importance on industrialization, and focused his economic development strategy on a handful of large domestic conglomerates, protecting them from competition and assisting them financially. Samsung was one of these companies. Park banned several foreign companies from selling consumer electronics in South Korea in order to protect Samsung from foreign competition and nurture an electronics manufacturing sector that was in its infancy. In the late 1960s, Samsung Group began the electronics industry. It formed several electronics related divisions, such as Samsung Electronics Devices Co., Samsung Electro Mechanics Co., Samsung Corning Co., and Samsung Semiconductor amp; Telecommunications Co., and made the facility in Suwon. Its first product was a black and white television set. In 1980, the company acquired Hanguk Jeonja Tongsin in Gumi, and started to build telecommunication devices. Its early products were switchboards. The facility were developed into the telephone and fax ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polymer Nannocomposites Polymer composites are the blend of polymers and filler materials. Disadvantages of polymers such as low mechanical and electronic properties can be improved through reinforcing with much stronger and highly conducting filler materials. Thus, fabricating polymer composites is of mutual benefit to both polymers and fillers. Furthermore, advanced desired applications can be tailor made. Also, compared to polymer micro/nanocomposites, polymer nanocomposites show much more improved properties such as extremely smooth finishing, excellent mechanical and electrical properties at lower loadings as low as 0.025 volume % (Schandler, Brinson Sawyer 2007). In the current chapter, both polymer microcomposites and polymer nanocomposites are briefly discussed. Filler reinforcements are available in various chemical forms, types, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each category has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, thermoplastics soften on heating and eventually melt like metals (Dyson 1990). The present chapter concentrates on two popular thermoplastics such as poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) for fabricating conducting polymer nanocomposites (Kennedy Taylor 1991). Thermosetting polymers are very common types of polymers, widely used for making conducting polymer composites. Almost 5th of polymers are used are thermosetting polymers as they find applications as they are used as composites, adhesives, and coatings (Allin 2004) These polymers are also called as thermosets which do not melt upon heating, cannot regain its shape once it is moulded. Among the three plastics, polyester is easy to use and very cheap. Vinyl ester shows the best chemical resistance compared to other, and high mechanical properties than polyester. Epoxy is expensive than vinyl esters. The present report discusses the three types of thermosets such as epoxy, vinyl ester, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
