and People
2. Plants are used as major food sources
Plants are called Producers bec.

3. Plant parts are used as vegetables
 Plant parts eaten as vegatables are

and grows underground.
*Flower buds
*Fruits
*Leaves
*Roots
*Seeds
*Stems
*Tubers
4. Plants recylce nutrients
 Bacteria & fungi (mushrooms) serve as
links in the recyling process of nutrients.
They decompose organic tissues and
release them as inorganic tissues and
release them as inorganic substances to
the soil or water.
*Plants produce Oxygen
 The oxygen supply in the earth’s
amosphere is a result of photosynthesis
by green plants.
 About 20% of the oxygen we breath is
produced by the green terrestrial plants
and trees.
5. Other uses of plants
a. Wood
b. Fibers
c. Oils
d. Ornaments
e. Medicine
Questions:
If there were no plants. What major
poblems do you think people would
face?
 Why plants are important?
 State the use/importance of plants.
