Philosophy
Meeting the needs of the whole child as an individual cognitively, physically, social & emotionally, and spiritually. We encourage families to partake in this process because we believe that team work is necessary and that parents are their child’s first teacher.
Vision
Our vision is to help the children we care for to become all they can be through a structured, loving, understanding, and safe, environment.
Mission
Our mission is to engage the students and their families in the learning process. We want to make learning fun and challenging for our children through the arts, and creative play. Each child is thought of as an individual so, we strive to meet their needs through lessons that are geared toward each child without making them feel different or separated from the other children in our care.
The assessment characteristic I will be using to focus on defining quality as a continuum is an ongoing assessment. The Early childhood Assessment is a tool I will be using as an ongoing assessment tool to collect information concerning each child for teachers, and the families of the children in my center. The information I gather will be used daily by myself, teachers, and parents to assess and assist children in the growth and develop process of each child, create a curriculum, set goals, and create an environment that is conducive for them cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally, and language wise. This assessment involves the teachers first observing the children and then documenting their findings. This assessment process will help us to run a more efficient and quality program for children and their families. By using this ongoing assessment tool we will be required to
· keep a record of each child’s growth and development
· specify the children that require extra support
· create an individualized plan for each child
· take note of their strengths and weaknesses
· ensure communication is strong between teachers, parents and other necessary staff members on a regular basis through home visits, parent conferences, and parent involvement activities in the center.
In an effort to ensure continuous improvement in my center will also welcome feedback from our parents.

Pre IEP Package 1
Dear Mr. and Mrs.
This letter is to inform your family our school will be conducting the Individual Education Program (IEP) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for your child. The IEP will serve as an outline of the special education your child will receive. As its name states, the program will suit the specific needs of your child. The program’s purpose is to provide your child’s education, services, and evaluation as an individual.
It is a requirement of IEP to conduct meetings that will help develop, monitor, and assess your child’s specific needs. In order for both the school and your family to prepare for the meeting, a Pre-IEP package was created.
Attached to this letter is a Pre-IEP Package. The package includes a questionnaire, proposed goals, document access information, and the usage of IEP information. The package will help prepare both the school and your family for the IEP meeting.

Part 1 Selecting a Competency, Indicator(s) and Possible Goals:
My knowledge, skills, dispositions, and performances measure up to the NAEYC Administrator Competencies in many different ways. I like to believe that I create an extraordinary learning community for the children and families involved. I also believe in an in depth partnership among coworkers, staff, and parents in each program. I believe I have many skills to offer, but I would be very interested in learning much more about the legal and fiscal management of a program.
As an Early Childhood Program Administrator, there are many sources that can help develop and strengthen my knowledge and skills such as other (former and present) administrators, scholarly books about early childhood administration, exceptional new technology, and much more. While being an Early Childhood Program Administrator, I would want to master the leadership aspect of the position. I feel that this is one of the most important characteristics that an administrator can possess. Being a leader shows a strong sense of responsibility, communication, and exhibit confidence.
I am very interested in several different areas of the Early Childhood Program Administration, yet I am most captivated by the family support. I believe having the families involved with the education and growth of a young child is the best and most rewarding thing for a child no matter the diversity or socio-economic background. All children deserve to have someone cheering them on especially during this stage of their lives. I, personally, would love to be in the classroom as a teacher for the first few years of my professional career. I must have a degree in early childhood education and training in child development with children from birth to kindergarten.
In five years, I see myself as a classroom teacher at a well known program in Alabama. I hope to be working on a masters in some type of education that will lead to administration. I recently read an article, “Relations Between Families and Early Childhood Programs” by Douglas R. Powell, which gave great examples of how to interact in the most efficient ways with families. This article interested me because I enjoy seeing families engaged fully with their student’s education.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
3. To this achieve this goal, I will present my research
proposal to my principal to discuss my plans for
implementing the proposal. I will use research to defend
my views on the benefits of peer mediated interventions.
After I receive approval to implement the proposal, I will
meet with my professional team, which are my
paraeducator, speech pathologist, occupational therapist,
and physical therapist. We will collaborate to develop a
plan to effectively implement the intervention. After my
team develops a plan, I will meet with the parents of the
students participating in the intervention to present
background information about the intervention. I feel it is
important to educate the parents, so they can support
their child throughout the intervention. Finally, I will
implement the peer mediated intervention program in my
classroom. I believe this peer mediated intervention will
enable my students with disabilities and students without
disabilities to develop meaningful friendships.
5. I know it is expensive to travel to Reggio
Emilia. Therefore, I have already started
saving money, so I can go on this trip. As I
plan this trip, I will continue to research
Reggio Emilia’s approach to teaching young
children. I believe going to Reggio Emilia to
experience their approach to teaching young
children will inspire me to create a Reggio
Emilia inspired classroom that enables my
students and I to learn alongside each other.
7. To achieve this goal, I will research the variety of
technology available to support my students’
learning. When I determine the programs and
technology tools available, I will discuss my plans
with my administration to establish an action plan to
purchase the developmentally appropriate
technology for my classroom. In addition, I will
create an account on donorschoose.org, so I can
request donations to help meet my goal of
developing a technology rich classroom. When I
receive the technology devices, I will integrate a
variety of technology into my whole group, small
group, and independent learning activities to engage
my students in learning.
9. I will achieve this goal by collaborating with the
parents on participating in the arts with their child.
This collaboration will take place during our
monthly home visits. During the home visits, I will
participate in art activities with the parent and
child. This will enable the parent to observe the
variety of strategies they can use in the home to
support their child’s development. At the end of
each home visit, I will provide the parents with art
activities that they can do with their child at home.
I believe focusing on integrating the arts during my
home visits will help me establish a strong parentteacher partnership that supports each child’s
development.
11. I will achieve this goal by collaborating with my
team to plan a variety of workshops that we feel will
be beneficial for parents. For example, we can
provide a workshop on behavior management,
which will teach parents strategies to address their
child’s challenging behaviors. Furthermore, I will
send home a survey to parents. This will help my
team determine topics the parents are interested in
attending. After the parent workshops are
scheduled, my team and I will offer the workshops
throughout the year. I feel these parent workshops
will provide parents with support and guidance as
they raise their young child.
