It involves fundamental steps like enhancement, restoration, compression, use of wavelets, segmentation, and recognition. Enhancement improves image quality for a specific application. Restoration recovers degraded images. Compression reduces storage and bandwidth needs. Wavelets represent images at different resolutions. Segmentation partitions images into constituent parts. Recognition labels objects based on descriptors. Image processing has advantages like aiding remote sensing, space exploration, geology surveys, and industries.

Brain tumor segmentation is one of the critical tasks in the medical image processing. Some early diagnosis of brain tumor helps in improving the treatment and also increases the survival rate of the patients. The manual segmentation for cancer diagnosis of brain tumor and generation of MRI images in clinical routine is difficult and time consuming. The aim of this research paper is to review of MRI based brain tumor segmentation methods for the treatment of cancer like diseases. The magnetic resonance imaging used for detection of tumor and diagnosis of tissue abnormalities. The computerized medical image segmentation helps the doctors in treatment in a simple way with fast decision making. The brain tumor segmentation assessed by computer based surgery, tumor growth, developing tumor growth models and treatment responses. This research focuses on the causes of brain tumor, brain tumor segmentation and its classification, MRI scanning process and different segmentation methodologies. Image fusion is a promising process in the field of medical image processing, the idea behind is to improve the content of medical image by combining two or more multimodal medical images. In this paper a novel fusion framework based on singular value decomposition - based image fusion algorithm is proposed. SVD is an image adaptive transform, it transforms the matrix of the given image into product USVT , which allows to refactor a digital image into three matrices called tensors. The proposed algorithm picks out informative image patches of source images to constitute the fused image by processing the divided subtensors rather than the whole tensor and a novel sigmoid-function-like coefficient-combining scheme is applied to construct the fused result. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is an alternative image fusion approach.

Abstract Segmentation divides an image into foreground object and the background object. In our case foreground object is brain tumor and background is CSF, white matter, and grey matter. Aim of our study is to detect the tumor and remove the background completely and compare the morphological operations that can be used for this purpose. Segmentation remains a challenging area for researchers since many segmentation methods results in over segmentation or under segmentation and hence, leads to the false interpretation of the results. The proposed work is the comparative study of the morphological segmentation methods for segmenting brain tumor from MRI images. Before segmentation, filtration process is carried out using two method, Non Local mean filter and median filter and their results are compared using MSE and PSNR. NL mean filter preserves sharp edges and fine details in an image hence, preferred over median filter. Also tumor location is identified, to get an approximate idea about the position of the tumor in the brain i.e. in which part the brain tumor is located. The tumor is identified by using different algorithms which are based on morphology such as watershed segmentation, morphological erosion, and hole filling algorithm and comparison between them is carried out based on parameters like accuracy, sensitivity and elapsed time. Each of the segmentation results are compared with the tumor obtained using interactive tool present in MATLAB R2013b. In this an efficient algorithm is proposed for tumor detection based on segmentation and morphological operators. Medical imaging techniques are used to image the inner portions of the human body for medical diagnosis. Brain tumor is a serious life altering disease condition. Image segmentation plays a significant role in image processing as it helps in the extraction of suspicious regions from the medical images. In this paper we have proposed segmentation of brain MRI image using K-means clustering algorithm followed by morphological filtering which avoids the misclustered regions that can inevitably be formed after segmentation of the brain MRI image for detection of tumor location.

Abstract In the field of medical image processing, detection of brain tumor from magnetic resonance image (MRI) brain scan has become one of the most active research. Detection of the tumor is the main objective of the system. Detection plays a critical role in biomedical imaging. In this paper, MRI brain image is used to tumor detection process. This system includes test the brain image process, image filtering, skull stripping, segmentation, morphological operation, calculation of the tumor area and determination of the tumor location. In this system, morphological operation of erosion algorithm is applied to detect the tumor. The detailed procedures are implemented using MATLAB. The proposed method extracts the tumor region accurately from the MRI brain image. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method efficiently detected the tumor region from the brain image. And then, the equation of the tumor region in this system is effectively applied in any shape of the tumor region. Abstract Brain tumour detection and segmentation is most important and challenging task in early tumour diagnosis. There are various segmentation methods available but they are still challenging methods because of its complex characteristics such as ambiguous boundaries and high diversity. To overcome this problem we are going to implement automatic brain tumour detection and segmentation method by using local independent projection based classification. In this method we are going to consider tumour segmentation as a classification problem. In this paper locality is important in calculations of projections. Also local anchor embedding is used to solve linear projection weights. The softmax regression model is used to improve classification performance. In this study we used MRI images as training and testing data. Finally the brain tumour is classified into tumour and edema region. The area of tumour region is calculated in pixels. Optimized and efficient deblurring through constraint conditional modelling

Image deburring technique refers to restoring an image from the degraded version named blurred. Blurring can be caused due to various phenomena such as optical system, motion blur and other phenomena. Moreover, to deblur the image it is essential to know the blurring process characteristics and it is one of the difficult task. In past several deblurring algorithm have been proposed to approximate the kernel blur, however they lack the efficiency and expensive to be applied for the real world scenario. In this paper, we have proposed a CCM (constraint conditional model) to deblur the image; it learns the direct mapping from the degraded to the absolute clean image. Moreover, the main aim of CCM is to restore the image in its original form, the best advantage of CCM is that it provides handsome tradeoff between the image quality and efficiency. Moreover, CCM is evaluated on the three different standard datasets by considering the different performance metrics and through the comparison analysis observation has made that CCM approach outperforms the other techniques.

Contour evolution method for precise boundary delineation of medical images

Image segmentation is an important precursor to boundary delineation of medical images. One of the major challenges in applying automatic image segmentation in medical images is the imperfection in the imaging process which can result in inconsistent contrast and brightness levels, and low image sharpness and vanishing boundaries. Although recent advances in deep learning produce vast improvements in the quality of image segmentation, the accuracy of segmentation around object boundaries still requires improvement. We developed a new approach to contour evolution that is more intuitive but shares some common principles with the active contour model method. The method uses two concepts, namely the boundary grid and sparse boundary representation, as an implicit and explicit representation of the boundary points. We tested our method using lumbar spine MRI images of 515 patients. The experiment results show that our method performs up to 10.2 times faster and more flexible than the geodesic active contours method. Using BF-score contour-based metric, we show that our method improves the boundary accuracy from 74% to 84% as opposed to 63% by the latter method.

The system analyzes text files and classifies writing styles by employing various clustering algorithms, such as k-means, k-means++, hierarchical, and DBSCAN. The effectiveness of these algorithms is measured using silhouette scores. The system successfully identifies distinct writing styles within documents, demonstrating its potential for plagiarism detection. Introduction: Stylometry, the study of linguistic and structural features in texts, is used for tasks like plagiarism detection, genre separation, and author verification. This paper leverages stylometric analysis to identify different writing styles and improve plagiarism detection methods. Methodology: The system includes data collection, preprocessing, feature extraction, dimensional reduction, machine learning models for clustering, and performance comparison using silhouette scores. Feature extraction focuses on lexical features, vocabulary richness, and readability scores. The study uses a small dataset of texts from various authors and employs algorithms like k-means, k-means++, hierarchical clustering, and DBSCAN for clustering. Results: Experiments show that the system effectively identifies writing styles, with silhouette scores indicating reasonable to strong clustering when k=2. As the number of clusters increases, the silhouette scores decrease, indicating a drop in accuracy. K-means and k-means++ perform similarly, while hierarchical clustering is less optimized. Conclusion and Future Work: The system works well for distinguishing writing styles with two clusters but becomes less accurate as the number of clusters increases. Future research could focus on adding more parameters and optimizing the methodology to improve accuracy with higher cluster values. This system can enhance existing plagiarism detection tools, especially in academic settings.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power System

A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

The main objective of on-line aptitude test system is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also gives fast results. For students they give papers according to their convenience and time and there is no need of using extra thing like paper, pen etc. This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world. Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application (user Location doesn’t matter). No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test. Every time when lecturers/professors need to conduct examinations they have to sit down think about the questions and then create a whole new set of questions for each and every exam. In some cases the professor may want to give an open book online exam that is the student can take the exam any time anywhere, but the student might have to answer the questions in a limited time period. The professor may want to change the sequence of questions for every student. The problem that a student has is whenever a date for the exam is declared the student has to take it and there is no way he can take it at some other time. This project will create an interface for the examiner to create and store questions in a repository. It will also create an interface for the student to take examinations at his convenience and the questions and/or exams may be timed. Thereby creating an application which can be used by examiners and examinee’s simultaneously. Examination System is very useful for Teachers/Professors. As in the teaching profession, you are responsible for writing question papers. In the conventional method, you write the question paper on paper, keep question papers separate from answers and all this information you have to keep in a locker to avoid unauthorized access.
