…the solutions
The Problem…
Prince, a young, intelligent, focused and
enterprising male with a well-paid job
NEEDS A WAY TO
explore his potentials
BECAUSE
he longs to impact the world
The Ideas …the obvious ones
• Prince should think deeply about what his talents &
strengths are and work to develop them; he can only move
forward if he knows what he wants to do
• Going back to school for a master’s degree or a different
degree altogether might help him identify his areas of
interests
• Since he loves to solve problems, he should think about
world problems that he would like to change and how to go
about solving them
• Think through solutions to these problems and get these
ideas across to organizations that tackle such and he might
just get the needed breakthrough
Ideas cont’d
• Start making a small difference around the community
he lives in, perhaps he might discover his passions
• Try to get another job that excites him so that he is
satisfied and happy with his job
• Look for ways to delve into careers or areas that would
place him on the right part to achieving his dreams and
goals
• After establishing where his interests lie, he can
volunteer to work there if possible so as to gain
valuable experience
• Find out the requirements of his career interests. How
would he get there from where he is today?
• Can think about a business idea since he complains
that office work is monotonous and tiring
Ideas Cont’d
• Start up something he is interested in along side his job
and once it has grown, he can resign from office and
focus full time
• Look for loopholes at his current job and see how he
could solve problems there- they say charity begins at
home
• Can find interests in his current job but in a different
department or function that aligns with his passion
• His ideas, if related to his current job, can be pitched
to his executives at work and he might just create a
new job role for himself
Cont’d
• Attend workshops or seminars in his areas of interests so as
to learn and network with people who are already on that
path
• Speak with experts in his field of interests for inspiration,
mentorship and direction
• Can ask family and friends what they think he is extremely
good at and then work on his abilities
• Can meet a career expert for advice since he is confused
• If unsure of where he wants to end up finally, he can get
involved with as many jobs as possible so as to identify the
one he enjoys the most
• A personality or competency based test might prove to be
a useful tool to determine what his strengths are and
where his interests lie
The ideas…how a 5 yr old would tackle them
• Try new or different ideas and keeping bugging people
about them till they show interest. 5year olds bug
everyone with questions and they demand answers
• Ask for help…a 5year old needs help with everything
even when they can do it on their own!
• Cry! Cry until the entire world comes to your rescue
• Do not stop talking about it. A 5year old is a talkative.
Keeping voicing your passions till they are heard
someday
• Never give up. A 5year old will continue to try a new
trick till he get it right
The ideas…if I had an unlimited budget
• Great! He should resign and start working on
his ideas immediately
• Employ experts or consultants in the field for
his newly formed company
• Get the necessary qualifications he requires at
any cost
The ideas… without spending money
• If money cannot be spent, then time will, so focus on
getting his ideas and working on the most feasible one
• I will suggest he does free online courses if he needs to
get more education
• He should attend free networking sessions, seminars
or conferences that are relevant to his interests
• He can contact professionals or career advisors in his
field of interests through emails and look for the ones
that he can get at no cost
• Liaise with companies who specialize in his interests
and apply for jobs there
The ideas…if I had control over the laws of nature
• Take Prince to his future where he has
discovered himself, is happy, making a
difference and impacting the world
• Snap my fingers so he knows exactly what he
wants and how he wants to go about it
(remove all uncertainties)
• Make him more content with his job so he is
happy and stops disturbing himself about
world problems or discovering himself
Ideas selection
• Most practical- Get various work experience and
qualifications in his area(s) of interest
• Most disruptive- Choose a problem in the society
he wishes to solve and go all out to solve it. Put
his innovation and creativity into use
• Favorite idea- Take Prince to the future where
everything is perfect and he is content
Explanation of ideas selection
I chose:
• the most practical idea because it enables him to
explore his potentials(which he desperately
needs) and to know where exactly his interests
lie. It can also be easily implemented.
• the most disruptive because he longs to impact
the world and this idea would give him a chance
to do that
• my favorite because it is the easiest and most
stress-free idea. My stakeholder will be in the
best position ever!
