This task features some notes that were made whilst me and my group were discussing the initial ideas for our short film and its general contests, how it will be shot and how we will light it.

Disney would not be a good fit as they focus on family-friendly content, whereas thrillers are not family oriented.

This includes close ups of squinting eyes, and close ups on hands doing a related action similar to Edgar Wrights Hot Fuzz gun holstering sequence. How does this appeal to the audience? The aspects of a visual comedy are shown in the way the chips are used as weapons and the characters are serious the whole time. What narrative theories does it use and how? The plot strays away from narrative theories such as Propp and Levi Strauss because there are no definite character types. Every character treads the line between good and evil for example. This creates a more dynamic and less predictable storyline. However it does follow the equilibrium theory as everything settles in the end at the same level as how the movie started. What Genre is it and what codes and conventions does it use? The genre is visual comedy. It follows the conventions of a comedy through bright lighting in public places and natural camera work. Characters wear casual clothing and are either sarcastic or overly positive to the point where it affects the storyline.
