This document proposes a multimedia instruction program to teach teachers about using information and communication technologies (ICT) in education. The instruction would cover introducing ICT and learner-centered approaches to using technology. It aims to educate secondary and primary school teachers, as well as pre-service teachers. A multimedia format including text, audio, pictures and videos is suggested to help learners understand concepts through multiple media.

6. Need for the instruction:
• Teachers in Pakistan and in some other
countries particularly the teachers working in
public schools get very limited opportunities
for training in ICT. So this multimedia
instruction program(in the form of CD and
website) will be easily available to them
where they can learn the fundamental
concepts of ICT as well as learn its meaningful
utilization in the teaching-learning process.

8. Rationale for Multimedia:
• Multiple formats of multimedia (text, images,
videos/animations) used in the tutorial will not
only help them in rote learning but also in
understanding the presented concepts and
ideas of ICT integration in education. That will
allow them to use their understanding in their
particular subjects and situations.
