ICOS09 OV Community Day Presentation
The oneVillage Community Day Presentation was given at 10am on Sept 27, 2009 at the Technology Bldg in Taipei Taiwan. The presentation gives an overview of our work particularly in relation to what the 1st Community Day event was about in July supporting the oneVillage Ecotour Service and Learning Program. As part of this program, 10 students from National Tsing Hua Univ traveled to Ghana for the month of Aug. During their time in Ghana, they shared experiences with each other and the local people, while aiding in various development efforts organized by our affiliate OVF Ghana. We see this as a model development effort that links projects and people with ICT and in many cases supports the development of Open Source solutions in the field.

Reflections of an e learning project manager
1) The Occupational Therapy Department at a university set a goal in 2008 to develop an internationally acclaimed curriculum using e-learning modules.
2) Over 3 years, the department transitioned from using WebCT to Moodle as their e-learning platform, upgraded computer labs and wireless infrastructure, and trained lecturers and students on the new technology.
3) Challenges included lecturer resistance to change, concerns about marginalizing underprivileged students, and lack of technical support. Success factors were top-level management support, excellent funding, and international recognition of their work.
Co meteproject
The CoMETE project is a course at the University of Evry that teaches students Mozilla technologies like Firefox and Thunderbird. Through practical projects, students work with experts from Mozilla and local companies to build applications using these open-source tools. The first year of the project saw enthusiastic student participation and successful projects that benefited both students and the Mozilla community. The project provides students with real-world skills while helping spread Mozilla technologies among companies.
Plone at University of Jyväskylä - 10 Years of Happiness
The University of Jyväskylä has been using Plone for over 10 years to power its websites and digital services. It now has over 80 Plone sites and services with 500,000+ content objects and 3 million page views per month. Ideas on increasing the computer literacy in a Tanzanian village

The advantage is that the audience will not experience problems such as when using an LCD projector, such as limited visibility, location or space, and the viewpoint of the audience on the Projectors. This research can be the answer to the need for using LCD projectors that often occur in the process of education, meetings, or seminars that continue to increase every time. Also, the lack of LCD compared to the number of teaching needs in each class and the unstable electricity conditions and the low electricity ratio in East Nusa Tenggara, so that makes the device LCD vulnerable to damage. Testing on LAN networks withthe same number of clients on each test shows that there was an increase of 18% and 75% in each addition to the number of servers. The best performance of Powerplan is still shown when the number of servers that present several five, with the response time of each client connected under two seconds.

The first Academy to open was Northampton College. The Academies will help spread the use of mobile technologies in education across the UK.
