Traffic Director – Project Manager - Operations Manager
From phone cards to pharmaceuticals, Cyrus Solomon has made a career of managing the
most time- and cost-sensitive accounts. He is a seasoned Project Management
professional with 15 years of experience in the print, radio, television, outdoor, collateral,
and direct mail areas in both advertising agency and event marketing environments. A
disciplined, goal-orientated performer, with an understanding of what it takes to get a job
done in the various project development phases, Cyrus uses his excellent interpersonal
skills to motivate and gain the cooperation of his agency coworkers and project
stakeholders.
Cyrus’ agency career includes 3 years at Adient, a division of CommonHealth, as Senior
Traffic Coordinator. There, his role included preparing and managing schedules and
estimates, preparing change orders, conducting weekly status meetings, and reviewing
billing reports, trafficking materials to all departments, preparing formal client
submissions, ensuring final delivery in venue, Major clients included Merck, Novartis,
Warner-Lambert, BMS, Biogen, and Vistakon.
Following his successful stint at Adient, Cyrus went on to DVC as Traffic Manager.
There he supervised three traffic coordinators, Cyrus’ role also included conducting
weekly team status meetings for the traffic department, reviewing billing reports, change
orders and revising estimates. He also functioned as chief troubleshooter for brand teams
to ensure adherence to all agency and client procedures, and ensured that client end dates
were met. Major clients included Roche, Labatts USA, Johnson & Johnson, AT&T
Wireless, Perdue, and Nutra-Blend.
Cyrus received a call from a friend about a St Louis based agency that opened up in NY
and needed someone to create and manage a workflow system for this Event Marketing
Acct heavy location that was beginning to bring in creative, while the print production
was still being managed in St Louis. Seeing this as a unique challenge Cyrus moved on to
Momentum NY, hoping to help this “show me state” agency with developing processes
and procedures for internal agency work flow, as well as work flow between sisters
companies within network. His role included scheduling, estimating, managing internal
brand team expectations, outside vendor procurement for print and production, and
ensuring that all agency and client procedures were followed. While there, Cyrus
interfaced with clients such as AMEX, Roche, Qwest, Gateway, and Castrol.
Working in this fast pace environment unknowingly prepared him for his next Oppty.
2. When Euro RSCG – Metamax (NJ) called and asked him to join them as Associate
Traffic Director, there he was asked to perform his magic creating uniformity between
the NY and NJ office due to shared resources and a large demanding client. Cyrus was
given the task of scheduling, estimating, managing internal brand team expectations,
ensuring adherence to all agency and client procedures. Orientating existing, new staff as
well as outside venders on agency and client procedures per project phases development.
He all the while was building a Traffic Department customized to meet the needs and
cost model for this major client, reviewing existing workflow for efficiencies
modifications that would result in time and cost saving thru appropriate resource
allocation for forecasted Scope of Work. Managing workflow between sister companies
and the various disciplines involved in all phases of the project development... Major
clients included Sanofi-Aventis, Lev Pharma, Bayer, and Biogen.
When Euro RSCG – Metamax NJ was merged with Euro RSCG X2 to creating EURO-
RSCG Life first full service agency “Euro RSCG Catapult” a full service agency digital
at the core, Cyrus was appointed Director of Traffic where he was asked to develop a
team of 10 project managers who could manage offline and online projects. Bringing
together multiple business groups means bring in multiple operational models that have
to be combined into one yet can be customize to meet client needs, maintain agency
profitability and keeps agency from absorbing risk by applying appropriate QC metrics.
Cyrus and agency department managers huddling often to ensure any concerns were
address and agency culture remained conducive for high productivity.
Cyrus was recongnize by his collegues as Nominee for EURO-RSCG Life Prestigic
Partner for a Day Award and was also selected as EURO-RSCG LIFE Good Life Award
Winner.
Working in partnership with the finance team, Cyrus and his team began to handle
detailed financial tactics. Identifying change order opportunity that allows the agency to
capture incremental revenue and at times the client cost savings on projects where
