Hurricanes and cyclones are low pressure weather systems surrounded by closed isobars with increasing pressure outward and circulating air towards the center. There are two main types: tropical cyclones that form between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, and extra-tropical cyclones that form at higher latitudes. Tropical cyclones are classified based on intensity from weak to strong, with hurricanes being the strongest type in this region. Hurricanes have very low central pressures below 950 mb and can have wind speeds over 180 kph. They also have an eye of low wind at the center that is typically rain-free.
